- The Lodrino Ethnographic Museum is part of the Trompia Valley Museum System and is included in the Il Bosco Racconta (The Forest Tells) itinerary.
In history Lodrino is mentioned among the lands donated with their servants to the monastery of Santa Giulia in Brescia by the Lombard king Desiderius. While today the economic life of the community revolves around the industry of the Trompia and Sabbia valleys and that which has sprung up in the municipality since the 1960s, in the past it maintained an eminently rural character, hinging on livestock farming, mowing the meadows and cutting the woods. The museum was born from the initiative in the early 1980s of a group of Lodrinesi who were concerned about safeguarding the artefacts of the rural and artisan culture of the past.
On display are many tools connected to the forest, timber and peasant ingenuity with which everything was made and manufactured, from cutlery to dishes to the roofs of houses. The exhibition follows a thematic itinerary and the visit is developed on the theme of the forest, enriched by illustrative panels, photographs and cards that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the ancient and fascinating dimension of the mountains.
At the end of 2017, the thematic itinerary dedicated to the theme of the forest, full of tools linked to the working of wood and the ingenuity of the farmers, who made everything with wood, was enriched by the section dedicated to the story of cheese-making, linked to the Trompia Valley by centuries-old ties and honoured in 2012 with the recognition of the 'Nostrano Valtrompia' D.O.P. mark. Here, numerous historical images from the photographic archives of the Comunità Montana di Valle Trompia, find a valid and innovative completion in the new setting of the Casa Contadina, adjacent to the Museum, inside which new technologies allow access to a multimedia and interactive display, usable through a special app,
The story of agricultural activity and dairy production in the Trompia Valley continues in the Mondaro Tower in Pezzaze, where the "Costanzo Caim Ethnographic Collection. The knowledge of the mountains", a memory of a past that is still present; some of the themes dealt with in the Lodrino Museum are also explored along the Sentiero dei Carbonai di Pezzaze.
The video was made by Albatros Film as part of the PIC Geometrie di Valle project with the contribution of the Lombardy Region.
