Eg I maybe a doctor trained deeply in medicine and worship medicine and the plumber doesn’t believe in medicine or taking our children to doctors cz he is convinced gvt is out to get ppl or some other belief he got from his own source of knowledge. How is that marriage going to work especially if he is the leader or has final say? The woman will just lose respect of the guy simply because she knows how medicine works and her husband is showing his gaps in knowledge and imposing those gaps on the family. And the women can clearly see it. The leadership bit becomes problematic and possibly power struggle ensues where she does whatever she feels is best and begins doubting his decisions etc So weather he makes a lot of money will be irrelevant because respect is like trust. It’s difficult to fake it or regain it after losing it. So that’s why some women in general don’t date certain jobs. It’s not the job per se but it’s the mentality of that person. If he is a plumber with a college degree that will be totally different.

Unless they have identical backgrounds, identical experiences, identical minds, two people are going to diverge on many subjects, degree or no degree. Plumbers have been successfully taking their children to doctors for decades, as their parents and grandparents did before them, that's an unsubstantiated concern. A college degree is unnecessary to grasp the basics of health care. And there is no reason to assume a engineer, lawyer or other degree holding professional would have similar values or perspectives to the doctor in your scenario, as these are completely different fields of knowledge. So the children get their medicine and doctor visits, but what is the wife going to do if there is a problem with the plumbing or home repair? Use her medical degree to solve it? No, he becomes the person who knows better and she is the one with the gaps in knowledge. What KS is talking about is the value these woman place on social class and image above all else. It's simple vanity and elitism.

The medicine example is just an example of what may happen when people have different ways of seeing the world in a major way Eg I am assuming he doesn’t believe in medicine and the woman worships medicine due to what she learned in college. If she had not gone to college she cld be sharing the same views as him or same fears of unknown. It cld be any other scenario where the college education is relevant or makes a difference.
Tht relationship won’t be fulfilling to either one of them. no 2 people can be identical I agree. but big differences in perspective can cause problems in relationships especially if one person wants to be the leader of that relationship. That’s when you hear words like “competition”, or “feminine” or “compliant” being thrown around when they start pulling at each other due to differences in how they see the world. Then women are blamed instead of the mismatch.
I think if the guy is not seeking to be the dominant one or the leader and the woman isn’t looking for a leader those relationships with differences can work. But if the woman is looking for a leader and leadership to her is partly shaped by her college experience I cld see why she wld say no to certain ppl. That comes from experience typically, not out of the blue Eg dating guys without college vs with college and seeing the differences. I think those men can mistakenly think it’s simply their social status or their job that is causing rejection, not something deeper. Thts not necessarily true. It cld be simply they are from different worlds and the guy wants to or will be more satisfied in the relationship if he absorbs the women into his world. So if the woman has her own worldview she won’t be satisfied being in his world.
It’s not as simple as what do you know share it. It’s deeper than that. It’s about how you exist in the world and how you solve problems and how you see the world and how you interpret signals coming at you how you resolve conflicts and how you relate to people. And then what you want out of a partner Eg if you want someone who shares similar values. It cld totally work if all you value is money and nothing else. Or if you are not looking for a leader and he is not looking to lead. But I have seen many men want to lead so that can cause problems statistically. There cld totally be your match without college education or a mismatch with college education. But ppl are lazy and impatient so they use shortcuts, Eg only date starting at college degree or starting at professionals.

That will impact the relationship hence some women choose not to date certain ppl.It’s nothing to do with how much he earns but more to do with how they both think. And if they think differently it won’t matter who can fix what. Cz after the fixing there is going to be how to raise kids, where to live, how to invest, where to invest etc basically life together will require a level of agreement. It’s not only gender studies it’s many other courses, and within those courses there are core requirements which many ppl who go to college have in common. Those are what makes a big difference if a person engaged and took it seriously. What they specialized in or their major is more similar to someone who gains skills outside of college.
