Well the end of this video sure made me feel better about my own efforts at track maintenance. Heck of a dip at 9:26

I know right, I thought Northern Nevada Live Steamers used to have bad track but this is something else entirely. Guess they don't have Steve Alley trying to sell them Accutie products at every derailment lol.

@@johnkuzma7066 White Creek gets Michigan winters, and as such we get a lot of frost heave. The cross level on the track is actually pretty good, but there's no way to level out 5 miles of track every spring. That shot also magnifies the issue due to the angle, it's not as bad as it seems in person.

That's a nice little locomotive, RMI does good work but one needs deep pockets, a guy at the local park railroad bought there first sweet creek 3 3/4" scale Forney for $50,000 it's had nothing but teething troubles from the get go. I much prefer my crummy, wood burning Little Engines American, it may be small and underpowered but it ran even with 50thou slop in the drive rods.

RMI both overbuilds and underbuilds their machines. 4 is running 2 Euclid motors now, which if memory serves are 5/8 horse at 30amp continuous draw. This is MUCH better than the Euclid motors RMI originally spec'd. The rear motor is a Sipco motor, and is the one that's a little underbuilt. Would have loved to have done a third Euclid, but couldn't do it without replacing the gearbox and the motors were unavailable at the time anyway. I've heard good things about the RMI steam when it runs, but when it doesn't you have to break out one heck of a checkbook.
