What a treat to see this footage. My late father was a Fitter IIe in 66 Squadron at this time and he shared many stories about his experiences during the BoB first at Kenley then onto Gravesend, West Malling and at the end of BoB at Biggin Hill. If anyone has any photos of 66 at his time I'd love to see them so please get in touch.
I was 7 years old at that time living on Lower Higham Road just at the bottom of the hill about a mile from the airport I can remember walking up Thong Lane to the guards at the airport
Correction of typing errors I lived near the bottom of Thong Lane. The Aerodrome (as we called it) was about a mile up the lane where the land became level I was a boy 7 years old in 1940. I remember the pilots going to have a drink in the cellar of the White Hart pub in the village of Chalk. The cellar was known as Daniels den the name of he landlord.

The Mk1 is the most beautiful of the line.
Last pilot in lineup is Dizzy Allan.
That's his Spitfire LZ X at 0:16
Love the footage of the pilots
