I started my Ace Combat journey at 7, having heard it was a great starting point (It was) and instantly fell in love with it - so I decided to next visit what I was told was the lowest of the series, just to get it out of the way - I went into Assault Horizon thinking it would be pure suffering for myself and my viewers, but honestly it had some fun moments and set pieces although the last few missions made me want to smash my keyboard lmao. I just finished AC4 thinking I'd do the holy trinity next but I was surprised to see many players mention that AC3 was a must play, all of this to say I caught the AC bug bad! Cant wait for 8!
I had originally planned on unlocking all of the in game content for Assault Horizon again after my save file from 10 years ago got deleted, but honestly I think I've had enough. Now it's like that old book on my shelf that I saved from school and just keep it there to add to the collection. AC4 is still goat for me, but AC6 tends to give it a run for its money often times, at least as far as game play is concerned.
@@skabAroll Highly recommend playing AC3 SL if you have the ability to do so! IMO the best traditional ac game. Everything great about ac1 and ac2 series all wrapped up into one. Great power fantasy and huge selection of parts, really great arena mode and some very memorable missions!
@@Theogrn AC3 has very little to do with AC2, there couldn't be more different games in the franchise. But AC2 is actually really fun and still holds up pretty well even despite (or might be even thanks to) its simplistic gameplay - in my own tier list it is even above AC04.
@@evilbabai7083 im aware they are different. Im just saying that ac3 SL is spiritually closer to any game before it than any game after it. Post nexus the devs changed alot of the game mechanics (for better or worse) imo they made it artificially harder simply cause the ai they had at the time couldnt keep up with reasonably skilled players with good parts that were available.
Also AceX and Only AceX COMBINED Both Ace04s Flight Model Core And Ace5s Gameplay feel and Visuals in Almost Perfect Harmony, PLUS Very Breakthrough Features Like SAVE REPLAY, and CHANGE CRAFT/ARMAMENTS IN PAUSE MENU so you didn’t have to go ALL THE WAY BACK TO MISSION SELECT !? Also Parts but that didn’t stand out like Ace3DS imo ALL IN A POCKET PS2 !? AceX is Just about BETTER Than the “holy trinity” Nevermind the latest one
It is held back by PSP limitations though, like clunky controls and 30FPS cap. But if they would've released it on PS2 with all the advancements it brings (like R* did with GTA LCS/VCS), it could've easily blew AC04 out of the water at the very least.
Ok Ace7 DID NOT Bring back the “traditional Ace gameplay formula” infinity did that, But it Was in Hi-def with ORANGE Looking Flames from afterburner which was fresh air since the Horrible Grimmey look of the last Two But Ace7 still had the OVERALL experience of doodoo Respectively 😊
Yeah like, it may Not be all the 🤡fanbase’s fault with Ace6 but more the Devs or the Company they’re under being GreedY “Namco Bandai” As there’s really No excuse why ace6 was abandoned and a “lost cause” when it Literally Holds up Visually and STILL LOOKS BETTER Than ANYTHING In the market today ! Like all PA had to do was KEEP The Graphics/Controls/Handling and visuals of 6 and Further Expand in it with more planes and longer more complex Champaign, And be Multiplatform AND THATS IT ! But noo they had to go 180° The OTHER WAY from there !? And now ass I mean Ace7 is just an Overly glorified successor to Infinity that’s just been “beautified” Aka plays like doodoo

Ace combat: assault horizon was more like a typical Michael Bay movie than an actual game, the only thing that I like about it was the music
I believe the game would've been a lot better if the dog fighting mode was removed or at the very least only optional.
