16:37 I ordered this clamp because I will get a Falcon Nexus stabilizer. I am a little confused as to how it mounts. My 1.75inch clamp that came with the kit is useless since I stripped the bolt hole. Not that I can use it with a pass through stabilizer anyways. So with that clamp style, how is the stabilizer mounted? A regular setup is "tie rod middle to axle bracket". It appears that with this clamp it would be "tie rod end to axle bracket."
I couldn't use the bracket that is at that point the video. I couldn't see anyway for it to work with my stabilizer. The other style that Rusty's sell is what I needed where it's a bracket at the track bar then a clamp half way down the tie rod that the stabilizer attached to. www.rustysoffroad.com/collections/jl-wrangler-18-steering-parts-and-accessories/products/rustys-steering-stabilizer-axle-side-relocation-mount-jl-jt www.rustysoffroad.com/collections/jl-wrangler-18-steering-parts-and-accessories/products/rustys-1-75-diameter-tie-rod-clamp-steering-ram-stabilizer-mount
Hey bud. Thanks for that!! It actually didn't, so I think the shudder is vertical movement somehow. I have new upper and lower front arms on the way, since every other connection to the axle is new now
Good video. BTW you got another sub. I've been using Rusty’s lift kits and stuff for long time on XJ now looking at steering kit for my JT. Mine lasted longer than yours has though, over 3 years and almost 87000 miles.
I didn't get an alignment yet. Still waiting for the parts to flip and mount the steering stabilizer. Without that though it's still driving really well
Rusty's products seem to be high quality but their quality control and knowledge of their products is terrible. Their installation instructions might as well be written in Chinese because they're wrong. That little tiny shudder on one bump is your concern? My dumb Jeep does that just driving between 50-60mph. I should've bought a 4Runner. haha All said and done, thank you for this! I have a Rusty's drag link and tie rod sitting on my garage floor that I have no idea what to do with and am considering just selling them. I have a little more confidence now to install this stuff.
Some instructions definitely aren't the greatest. This steering is super straight forward though. Aligning it on the ground isn't going to be as accurate as an alignment rack. I definitely had no steering issues with my old 4Runner

Entertaining video! Thank you. Did adding the steering stabilizer back into the equation make the difference?

Im running the same Rustys steering and I have the little steering wheel shake going over bumps did your alignment help with getting rid of that?
