Eric Clapton - Change The World

  • Come On Sing Along!
If I could reach the stars I'd pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart so you could see the truth
That this love I have inside is everything it seems
But for now I find it's only in my dreams
    CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
If I could be king even for a day
I'd take you as my queen I'd have it no other way
And our love will rule in this kingdom we have made
Till then I'd be a fool wishin' for the day
    CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world
    - GUITAR SOLO -
    CHORUS:
That I can change the world
I would be the sunlight in your universe
You will think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world
Baby if I could change the world

Lost my dad to a heart attack a couple years ago. My favorite memories are listening to Clapton in the garage as a kid on summer evenings while he tinkered with tools and drank beer. Clapton’s music will always hold a very special place in my heart.

It's quite literally a song about a giant robot with a normal size man living inside him, or a shrunken man living inside a regular man controlling him with a bunch of levers and wires. He's said recently on a podcast that its frustrating people keep trying to obfuscate and make it more complicated than it is, its quite frankly his most literal work.

    • @superchroma

24 years ago I played this for the man I would marry 2 years later. I lost him this year... it has so many happy memories attached and yet breaks my heart to hear because it reminds me of the amazing love we had for so long. He changed my world, and I changed his. I will never stop missing him.

You were in kindergarten in the 90s? And remember things like that from kindergarten in the 90s? I was in kindergarten in 1986 and can say I have absolutely zero memories of kindergarten. In fact, I can honestly say I have absolutely no memories until middle school, but only a few of those. I really have no memories before high school. I know that's kinda weird, but I'm surprised anyone remember as far back as kindergarten when it's almost 30 years later. A great song sung by slowhand himself & that distinctive voice, the chorus background harmonies by Babyface make this song great.

    中学2年の時に友人から初めてこの曲を聴かせて貰い、私の洋楽の扉が開かれた。その時の衝撃たるや。。。今でも大好きです。
