i have a question. during this time of the year, you dont have to worry about the tides? i dont go until low tides and that is limited because the beach is over an hour away so i dont go as much to the beach unless low tides is around 1am or at 6am. it be nice to go to the beach more during the fall. winter is hard because the water is cold
I personally think to a much lesser extent at this time of year that tides are the factor to focus on. It’ll say that with one caveat. It depends on the wave speed too. If you are hunting a bay beach this goes out the window. An Ocean Beach though you’ll get more high tide line signals.

Especially because I got in the habit of frequency shift 1 with my old pinpointer. It took 8 months of digging pull tabs with simplex to find my first gold. Turns out it rings up foil not pull tabs in frequency 1. But hey, 5 gold rings, a necklace and a bracelet isn't bad for August.
Metal Detecting NYC you had Apex in jewelry mode. The frequency change probably effected the amount of clad you pulled off the beach. Do you feel the Apex can out perform the Nox on the beach and also having the dedicated Jewelry mode?

No just one speed and it’s not enough in my opinion compared to an equinox. But to be fair it’s a different price range.
