  • Hey everyone take a look at the 300 gallon aquarium we have in the shop stocked with wild caught Frontosa Tembwe. These fish are collected in the Congo and are part of the Zaire blue description of Frontosa found in the Congo. Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!!

There are no rubber rock in the lake as well. It does compliment the sand very well. Gotta love the frontosa, leave for work in the AM and nothing changes by the PM.

Do you keep your frontosa on a light cycle? Or on 24/7. Wondering if they sleep?

I' had black back ground on my old 85 liter tank I found it made the fish darker as well
Ive since got a new 567 liter tank and Im keeping it with a pictured back ground

Must agree with your description of their behaviour and demeanour, we got a bit "bored" with our colony, 9 Chaitika, turned it into a Tanganyika community tank, much better, more action and visually very much more appealing! Even added 4, 3cm Neolamprologus Bruescheri, the Frontosa ignore them, very peaceful fish! If you want action, don't buy Frontosa

How do you get that many females in a group of 50/50 without breaking your wallet? How many should I buy to get these many females to male to females ratio?

If you're talking wild caught, you break the wallet LOL. If juvies you get as many as you can and grow them up and select your breeding group and sell off the extra's.

The sand has nothing to do with it. Look at all the blue on the rocks in the video, and the bright white light on the rocks in the picture. your lighting is completely different. Also white sand reflects the blue lights 10 times better then the black does. The black sand does not reflect light at all. I also like the look of the black sand with your background, but its not the sand in the picture that is washing them out it is the lighting. Your tank and fronts are beautiful.
