you can block the front dash ive tried it and it always gets blocked + its impossible to land except if ur enemy has brain damage since its start up is slow and you cant turn around. u can only use it as a combo extender. also a good tech for it is 3 m1s into sidedash then turn around to face the enemy and use the variant. (this wont knock the enemy back if done right)
its kinda reliant on the angle and distance u hit opponent, if too far then u wont hit it, if too close then u will ragdoll them, and if they dont block its free combo
I like to call him "Alcoholic Samurai" for a reason. But don't overuse this. Pinpoint Cut deals 15 damage normally, but the variation only deals 10, regardless whether it's a block break or ragdoll hit. Also, similar to Shove, Hunter's Grasp, etc. it's not a true combo unless you use tech or have higher ping. Only use the variation for starting combos, not extending because it's just less reliable for extension and also literally deals less damage.
only exception for this is when they have randomly cancel, and you dash to the side on the third m1, then use the variant to keep them stunned and m1 extend
