a lot of love for Spurs players here. Ange been cooking in his 6 months so far, give him another window or two, he's building up for a proper title push next season. This season was always going to be a free hit after the mess Conte left them and then Kane departing. The fact he already has them well in the fight for top 4 UCL spots is very impressive.

Never understand the whole argument that because Allison has been good for years means he isnt GK of the season. Hes the best GK in the world and has been absolutely immense this season.
Exactly. It's the EPL "TEAM OF THE SEASON". That means the best of the best. Vicario I'd argue has had a bigger impact at Spurs but Alisson is still the better keeper. Put Alisson in Spurs and he will make just as big of a impact because Spurs have been trash recently. Even then, I think Alisson might have actually had a bigger impact at Liverpool currently. Some of his saves have been incredible. Crystal Palace and Newcastle are just two examples. He literally put on a bigger show than Vicario at the Hotspur stadium.
@sIlver66916 for some reason if they're a new signing they always get an advantage. Spurs have dropped off in recent weeks. Vicario has been great but if he wasn't a new signing he wouldn't get as much praise. Ange gets so much love it's absolutely crazy
If he was English, they wouldn’t do this. Like look at how they include Walker as a top two RB this season when he’s been off it a bit, and Porro and Trent have been better. If any English GK played the way Alisson does, no one would exclude him because a newcomer was doing really well
As much as Emery has done a fanstastic job, Klopp really should have been the Manager of the season so far. Top of the league, still in every competition, 1 defeat in the league (which was farcical) and a huge 30 goal contributions from substitutes is massive.
Whoever stuck in Bowen as the Left Wing/Forward choice has had a mare. If he isn’t playing through the middle, he is out on the right for West Ham 😅 disaster
Trent has had the freedom to shine in possession this season and made amazing game changing moments. But there are.2 games where his defensive ability literally won Liverpool points. One of them was a last ditch block, another was a clearance behind Alison... add that to highlight real of 50 yard zingers, goal scoring chances created, and 2 goals to his name.. Walker doesnt come close... and walker is the best player not in the 11

Not gonna batter you for this team, but I agree most with Marks way of thinking here. I feel this team in some positions is a bit too much "these players should be the best" and not only based on who have performed the best. Haaland have been great, but it almost felt as if he took the spot because you felt not giving it to him would be seen as weird. Also "I would choose him tomorrow" is technically a different questions from "have he performed well the last six months?".

Salah left for AFCON as the leading goalscorer and leading assist provider in the league. In what world is he underperforming? Saka isn't a bad player so maybe people have expected more from him that he hasn't delivered this season but Salah has arguably been the best player in the world this season. And then Mark saying Saka is more creative because of crossing stats. Different playstyles, Salah has the most assists and big chances created. I don't know if they were doing it to make it seem like there was a thought process to picking Salah and trying to justify the other names but the man is head and shoulders above everyone else. Can you elaborate? I just don't understand his hype at all, every time I've watched him I've felt like he isn't particularly great at anything. His passing is meh, dosent have great composure on the ball, dosent have a great shot. I feel like ppl just think hes good because he basically plays as a centre forward for most the game
@@Huss_3 What do you mean, can you name any other left backs right now who's better then him in the prem? He's fast, his recovery is the best in the pl for left backs, his reading is good with great interception, he rarley gets past by wingers or strikers, and he has great composure. I don't know what you're talking about with his composure. I admit his passing is ok, but he doesn't need to really shoot from long range or cross a lot in Ange's system. He drives into the half space to make space for Son. You are clearly lying when you say he isn't particularly great at anything. At least one asset that you can't deny is that recovers the ball really well using his pace and reading of the game.
So watto puts the spurs keeper in and says he’s better because of the team he’s playing in but puts haaland in over Watkins. Watkins has less service but offers more than just goals,
The fact it was a debate for emery is outrageous, according to them villa dont have a player that get tots so far only, and to take that team to 2nd come on! torres not getting a mention is the biggest miss, id honestly debate between him and saliba.
Villa picked up the 2nd most points in a calendar year for the Premier League with 85 points and currently sit second this season with 42 points and not a single player cracks a nod! A lot of these players have been selected on reputation alone and not on this seasons performances.
This season watkins over haaland all day. Also the fact that villa are 2nd in the leauge and you put no villa player in your 11 is a disgrace (from a newcastle fan)
Agreed. Honestly find it astonishing! Sure I’m slightly bias as a Villa fan but I’m not saying the whole team should be in here but bare minimum on or two Villa players should be in here.
Is there some kind of Villa bias? I’m not even a Villa fan but you’ve got to have at least 2-3 Villa players in there. Also they contradict themselves (not mark really). Watto picks Vicario over Allison but says Allison is the best in the world, but then picks Walker because he thinks he’s the best RB in the world haha
Can’t argue with any of the picks. Bit of a contradiction when you pick Vicario over Alisson in goal but then take Haaland over Watkins just because you can’t not pick him due to being the best ST in the world. Agree with Marks choices on every position especially the Watkins shout playing up top with Salah and Son 🔥
Just because a picks oblivious like Allison and Trent doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick them because their oblivious for a reason, this season Trent is one of the best player in the world let alone his position in the prem
I totally agree. Just because we expect them to be good and they are good so let's not have in team is just nonsense. It's hipster comment to praise the players whom we didn't expect to be good but came good. I mean we should praise them but don't deserve the extra point because we didn't knew about them in past
Not a single villa player in the team🤣. No one’s arguing that Haaland isn’t better than Watkins but it’s a team of the season so far…….. Douglas Luiz has also had a better season than Declan Rice and is a better player.
How is there not one Villa player in there luiz has been unreal Watkins class digne too and Martinez has pull off some worldie saves too . And Aston Villa are sitting second too shocking
Exactly this, they kept re-iterrating that it was a tots so far, then kept picking players based on 'who id want in my team right now' 😂😭. There is literally zero chance Haaland should be in the team btw lol, hes been below par this season
Once again , confusing who is the better player or who would you rather sign or who would you play in a big game.....with WHO HAS BEEN THE POTS SO FAR. Goldbridge correct and it ain’t Haaland.
The rodri comment from watto is spot on there is a drop off without him in the city side and nufc are the same with Bruno G we don't win games without him we really need a player to sit and protect the back 4. Shocking that Ross barkley don't get a mention I know u boys only loom at the bigger clubs but what he has done at Luton is amazing turned his career around the best player I've seen in a Luton shirt ever
No quiz? 😢
With no extensive injuries -Benta, this is my squad totally biased.
Ange FIRST TEAM Emery SECOND TEAM / BENCH
Vicario Alison
Trent Vigil VDV Udogie Porro Romero Saliba Digna
Rice Rodri Ward Bentancur
Maddison Foden
Salah Son Hwang Gordon
Haaland Watkins
Could have done something about the FA Cup there's been a tonne of great games.
that arsenal top's minging
How did odegaard get so many mentions
blinded by big team bias, watkins is clear of haaland this season and the fact leon bailey didnt even get a mention is crazy.
Well, we ALL know that Ben is a massive Spurs fan. Ben would probably pick Simon Spurs Fan Hooper as the ref of the season so far. Trent hasn´t played as a right back, most games he has been in the midfield. Stupid pick yet again from the bias DUO...
Out of possession,Trent plays as a right back so I have to disagree with you
@@Axelblaze1022 But his stats are based on ALL his games this season, and that includes his games in the midfield, and his stats would have been lower if they had discounted those games he played in the midfield.
should do an u23 totssf
Kyle Walker doesn't invert mate. Not now, not anytime. May end up with more trophies than Trent, but he isn't better this season. If Trent made 10% of Trippiers errors this season, social media won't hear the end of it.
Would have still taken Maddison despite the injury.
Paqueta should have got a mention imo
The Villa anti bias is insane
Do an England one next
What? Salah with 8 and Son with 5 assists. Think they are quite creative enough. Even so, Haaland has 4 assists (should have been 5 if advantage was played correctly) so can create too.
NGL - Matip was the best CB this season until he got injured.
i thought lucas pacqueta would be cAM no cap
Ali Watkins should to be in the team...Unai Emery
Cole Palmer is like a young Phil Foden..... Foden is only 23 😂
Why was Wataru Endo not included in the CDM discussion. He has been crucial for Liverpool this season and is unfair that you didn't mention him.
Exactly, maybe because he didnt play first half of the season but hes amazing
He didn't played much
He’s not played enough, he wasn’t getting a single mention a month ago. I think that says it all.
I mean I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Liverpool fan and I'd say there's no way he's in the same convo as Rodri, Rice or Palhinha. I like Endo a lot and he's improved loads this past month but before that he wasn't playing much and when he did he was only ok.
@@jamescurrall9341 I think over the course of the season he might, rarely puts a foot wrong, progresses the play suprisongly well, goes into challenges like his life depends on it. Wins so many headers for a guy his height, runs for days. What more can u ask for.
Konate?🤷♂️
Walker has been below par this season even City fans will admit that can’t believe Porro barely got a mention
Yh its funny that 3 Spurs players got in it and probably their best player didn't even get a mention 🤣
Walker is becoming overrated ngl no one actually watched him they just shove him in without thinking
Having no villa players in there when they're second in the league is criminal lads!
Mark tried tbf
Kamara wasn't even mentioned, nor was Torres which is wild to me. McGinn had a passing comment as a holding midfielder (I think) which isn't where he's playing. Madness.
Villa don't have a quality player they are like Newcastle they work as a unit , like if you really have too purely on quality name one player that can enter the premier league 11. They are a bunch of above average players who work very well in a system. Like example , who out of aston villa would anyone like to sign
@@eshaanbhat3732 Idiotic comment if I've ever seen one 😅 Get to specsavers bud
@eshaanbhat3732 I mean Watkins, Luiz and McGinn have been linked away from Villa CONSTANTLY 🤷♂️
Trent offers a "little bit more" going forward than Walker? Understatement of the season right there Ben.
It’s almost as if Ange prefers his players to work the ball around not just cross and hope, Udogie is clear this season so far.
He’s only been good for 2 months, even tsimikas has been better
@Jay-th6ep and he's Robertson's backup
@@devonwilson9772 exactly. Think robinson from Fulham has been the best LB this season
So watto puts the spurs keeper in and says he’s better because of the team he’s playing in but puts haaland in over Watkins. Watkins has less service but offers more than just goals,
And Watkins is far less wasteful than Haaland
The fact it was a debate for emery is outrageous, according to them villa dont have a player that get tots so far only, and to take that team to 2nd come on! torres not getting a mention is the biggest miss, id honestly debate between him and saliba.
As a Spurs fan I agree
Villa picked up the 2nd most points in a calendar year for the Premier League with 85 points and currently sit second this season with 42 points and not a single player cracks a nod! A lot of these players have been selected on reputation alone and not on this seasons performances.
who comes close other than watkins and digne? They’re a great team thanks to Emery that don’t rely on individuals
I’d have douglas luiz over both rice and rodri this season, even big jon has been better than them
@@alexclark9348treble winner rodri for douglas louiz. Tell me this is a joke
Luiz for rice easily, digne for udogue they literally stated he has better stats, Bailey deserves a shout and Watkins 100000%
Leon Bailey ??
This season watkins over haaland all day.
Also the fact that villa are 2nd in the leauge and you put no villa player in your 11 is a disgrace (from a newcastle fan)
Dont worry mate, us villa fans are used to this, we never get a mention on anything
Agreed. Honestly find it astonishing! Sure I’m slightly bias as a Villa fan but I’m not saying the whole team should be in here but bare minimum on or two Villa players should be in here.
@@danielwilliams2888 yeah i agree
Porro barely getting a mention is criminal. 7 assists from Right back, mental. His passing range and also recovery runs are class
Most have been from set pieces
@@yessi1585and? If anything that’s better it means he plays great balls in
@@aspectz497 just means his assists haven’t “come from right back” though
I hate when people say "who are you picking if you have a game tomorrow" cuz then its not based on this season
EXACTLY. The arguments against both were absolutely mental.
Obvious, not oblivious. lol Oblivious means "unaware of one's surroundings."
Not a single villa player in the team🤣. No one’s arguing that Haaland isn’t better than Watkins but it’s a team of the season so far…….. Douglas Luiz has also had a better season than Declan Rice and is a better player.
Villa area fantastic team built solely around teamwork, not individuals
How is there not one Villa player in there luiz has been unreal Watkins class digne too and Martinez has pull off some worldie saves too . And Aston Villa are sitting second too shocking
i think Antonee Robinson deserves a shoutout at LB! glad that Ben agrees
I thought this was "team of the season so far" NOT the team i'd pick tomorrow
Exactly this, they kept re-iterrating that it was a tots so far, then kept picking players based on 'who id want in my team right now' 😂😭. There is literally zero chance Haaland should be in the team btw lol, hes been below par this season
Bang on @@Huss_3 Surprised they never put KDB in here too🤣
Once again , confusing who is the better player or who would you rather sign or who would you play in a big game.....with WHO HAS BEEN THE POTS SO FAR. Goldbridge correct and it ain’t Haaland.
ali should have been in goal for sure
The rodri comment from watto is spot on there is a drop off without him in the city side and nufc are the same with Bruno G we don't win games without him we really need a player to sit and protect the back 4. I have an awful feeling city will go all out for Bruno G and watch how good that midfield is
Villa are the same with Kamara, he was suspended for the 3 games we struggled in.
Seems like you rather picked who you would want in your team and their potential rather who has actually been the best this season.
The team you’ve picked isn’t really about who has had the best season. You have just picked the best players.
