This is just .... The heavens would have a fitting word for this masterpiece. I'm a violist in training. Soon to take my grade 1 exam. This is the piece I'm going to strive to do one day. Such wonderful expression.
I have had the pleasure of performing this beautiful work, Rebecca Clark Passacaglia as well as the Bach Cello Suite 5 first movement on a jury(test at school)... I scored a 98% for both pieces for 4 reasons 1)the grace of GOD was with me. 2) I had a great teacher who taught me these pieces 3) I connected emotionally with these pieces and loved them. I played them from the heart with soul and musicality. 4). I practiced diligently these pieces and my teacher made sure of it.

Excellent balance and dynamic - especially in a 'recording studio' of a NPR affiliate. Having worked and recorded in such venues, they are not often the best sound envelopes. But this! It is wonderful. And the violist is stunning in her tone and musicianship. Bravi.

Piano and Viola are poorly balanced. Clarke wrote for both of them and in this piece the piano is definitely an equal partner!
