Shelly, thank you so much for this video. I sing alto and it can be challenging to hear and sing the alto part. This made it very easy for me to learn and sing this song. I hope you do more videos like this.
This was amazing! You're so talented to be able to sing all 4 parts!! I'm barely getting along as chorister in our ward, so I'm very thankful for all your videos to help with leading the music. I can see where these would be helpful for choir directors to share with their choir members, especially for extra practice at home to learn their parts. (I'm a soprano and tried to sing along to the alto part. It didn't go well! It takes practice to sing a different part one is not accustomed to!) Shauna in California, USA
It took lots of preparation and practice to get ready for this video 😉 And for years I couldn’t sing other parts either, but my ear finally clicked to be able to do it. Hopefully it can happen for you too, if you want to do it 😊 Thanks!
This is my favorite hymn. My great grandmother use to sing or hum it to me when she held me as a baby. When you sang the alto you did not raise your key in some parts as you did in all of the other cersions. This is actually a very difficult song to sing properly because of the key changes.
It's definitely a beautiful hymn! Maybe you've got a different version of the music 🤷♀️ I sang it according to the music I linked in the description. But I'm sure all the arrangements are lovely 😊
Very helpful and great to singalong with!
This is very helpful! Thank You Shelly
Fantastic tutorial, very well put together. I will definitely use it when I have my own choir. Thank you, Shelly, you're a star!
This was so beautifully presented. I wish I could like it twice
That is so sweet! Thanks 😊 Glad you liked it!
Very very helpful, as I have to memorize the part since I can't read musical notes. I hope this encourages you to continue helping in this way.
So glad it helps 😁 I've made a few more videos like this, and I'll try and do more 😊
