  • todays video I talk about the differences between Epiphone and gibson guitars. remember that gibson owns the Epiphone brand and with Kramer as well. if you can afford a gibson guitar buy one but if you want a Les Paul standard without breaking the bank then Epiphone is your option. remember to hit the like and sub button see you guys in the next video.

Man I’ve had my goldtop just over 3 years and I play it everyday as it took me a long time to be in a position to afford it. Now I do look after it and wipe it down after every time I play it but I’ve got to admit I’m envious of the visable signs of usage on your greeny hahaha
Fantastic video brother, enjoy those beautiful guitars in good health

@@honnaconna7312 thank you for your support. I’ve had Greeny for almost 3 years and the way it’s aged I love it. Won’t be my first Gibson I’m currently saving up for custom shop or a regular standard Les Paul ice tea burst

I subbed as soon as you said Joe Bonamassa lol. Good review, and keep working hard to get those subs. I have an 80's LP special with regular humbuckers, and she's my go-to guitar - every day.

This is quite a stunning Gibson LP but imo both didn't sounded as good as they could. I find you can only really analyze a guitar in clean and maybe crunch mode but not with heavy distortion. The rest is depending on your playing style and level.

i don't know why you would go with the epi if you already had a gibson les Paul. Now don't get me wrong, my first guitar was a 90s epi Les Paul, i have long since sold it but i will always have fond memories. Epiphone uses junk frets and usually have crappy electronics with a thick poly coat over a veneer top. Compared to Gibsons, they tend to sound very dead, especially with the substandard ceramic pups covered with a shit ton of potting.. Now I am not crapping on epiphone, many guitarist rock them with abandon, but you have a gibson right there.. why go with the same model epi? Now i get you won't be focusing on clean but that is the best way to "hear" a guitar.. Set your amp to clean and play the gibson.. Then play the epi.. i suspect with the epi it will sound like you just threw a thick blanket over your amp. THAT"S the difference (that and the fact that you will probably have to get new frets at the end of a year or two)
