Horrible Homily by Fr David TSSF. Gates are both entrances and exits.
Pharisees saw as them entrances which must be guarded again incoming defilement. (both of people and things).
Jesus saw them as exits. What came out of the heart as revealing the true nature of the person or city. Defilement or compassion reveal what is already within.

Christ doesn't need to be invited in, according to James he is already implanted in our heart. We need to let his mercy and compassion flow out as shown in the vision of Ezekiel.
