I remember sending you an email on how to avoid getting Tendon issues as I have been dealing with those things for so long and you emailed me back... I really appreciate this video... You are certainly doing an amazing job with all your information... thankyou sir !!!!
The substance, DSMO (sold on Amazon), cured my tendinitis in under a week. Amazing stuff. Allegedly it works wonders for arthritis among other physical injuries/soreness as well.
I had the idea for a adjustable piano, (So I don’t have to modify some pieces, Or arpeggiate chords) (You can change the gaps between the keys and the key width themselves) Sounds good, until you realize if any of the mechanical parts break, You’ll need a new piano, So, different pianos with different key sizes and gap spans, but how are you going to choose between a hundred pianos? where’d you fit them in a shop? Also, I remember playing Hungarian Rhapsody No.6 when I was 14, It was meh, not enough to pass any tests, but good enough that It would be Accepted by anyone who played it... Tip for the repeated octaves, don’t have a stiff hand, try and sort of flap it, Otherwise, you’ll have a sore hand, and a bad performance It’s also useful in pretty much any situation,
Im confused. My piano Professor told me to really press down every note properly when practicing rach Sonata 2 . There is propably a fine line between pressing too long right? On the other hand there are People doing fingertip push ups which is way more than pushing down on chords at the piano. Would you agree that you can push as long as you don’t over do it and when the body feels fine you slowly increase the practice time? My old teacher said never press down but when I Watch Sokolov play for example prokofiev Sonata 7 it looks like he often pushes as well Greetings
I had a severe case of carpal tunnel syndrome, and my health insurance company made me go through physical therapy first. The physical therapy exercises made it worse, and I ended up having surgery. The good part is that after healing from the surgery, which didn’t take long, my wrist feels great and I don’t feel like I ever had a problem.
Oh wow, I thought I just like to do that little wrist shake on chords sometimes because my brain is broken. I’ll probably notice everybody doing it now.

Very nice video. The pulling back on keys is like trying to gently open a stiff tap in the kitchen by turning it laterally
I was just rewatching all the old tension and free hands videos, now this will help me more.
You explained all my question about playing forte now. Excellent. Im so happy.
I’m so thankful for this video. I’ve always struggled with having a full sound and playing fortes with ease.

Very helpful! Thank you!
Very useful! I’ve been practicing Rachmaninov prelude in g minor and my forearms have been killing me
That's a big clue that your technique needs to be corrected. STOP hurting yourself!
That piece is so much fun to play, once you start using your arm weight
Thanks for your amazing lesson :-) Greetings from Switzerland
Really interesting video! Thanks for sharing all your tips with us!
Great comments Josh, keep up the good work!
What about forte or fortissimo chords or octaves that are quick in tempo? Thank you
I think of swatting a fly when I need a melody with my pinkie to stand out.
So, how to play softly and quickly? Don't the key strokes have to be fast, which would make the volume louder?

Josh do you recommend carpal tunnel stretches to prevent injury?
