The term "bubblegum" pop/rock was actually coined to describe the band Abba and their music, a couple of decades prior to the 90s. Also, this song has too much soul to be considered "bubblegum" pop/rock.
you can see that at about 0:39 she starts the second "i taste the truth" a little late (i assume because she forgot that there was a second one), and the need to take a breath before the next line ("we know what i came here for") caused it to start a little late as well at 0:42; you can see taylor's facial expression when he realizes he has to adjust for her desyncing (super smooth adjustment btw), and how mandy smiles sheepishly at him over her error ^^ wholesome af
