Slightly flat summer of cricket for me, the weather seems to have been worse and the oppositions too green, these t20s were fun because I remembered what it looked like when a team gives us a punch 😅
WIll be an interesting tour to watch how Jamie Smith does. Didn't have to keep for that many overs across the WI/SL tests (only one tourist innings went beyond 100 overs afaik). Could have to spend a long, long time in the field and then try to contribute with the bat.
Woakes is statistically the worst English touring seamer in their entire test history. Defending this selection makes no sense whatsoever. he is cannon fodder away from home and nothing in his game has changed to prevent that happening again. you even make a suggestion looking forward to how he could be impactful on the tour to NZ where he's played two tests and got 4 wickets at 50. SA another place theoretically he should go ok, 3 tests, 5 wickets at 56. last time abroad he got flogged by a very poor WI team. he is not built for touring an insane selection.
You guys are usually on the money but cannot understand why you keep boosting Robinson. It's not fitness as in injuries - the guy just does not want to do the bare minimum of being an international sportsman and stay in shape. How many "I'm a gym bunny now" interviews can there be? Then you add all the bullshit like taking his missus to India, mouthing off to you during the Ashes that he couldn't back up... He's clearly falling foul of the no dickheads policy and from the outside it looks absolutely fair enough
