Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is $14.59 for 26 fl oz, that is about $0.56 per fl oz *Cheaper* DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss is $14.99 for 16 fl oz, that is about $0.94 per fl oz *Pricier* 0:20; I find your false claim of which you considered cheap (DIY Detail) and expensive (Meguiar's) is rather deceptive to the uninformed viewers. I am sure you have favorable monetary reasons/financial incentives prior to the publishing of this video.
I’ll stick with Meg’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax and top it off with the Hybrid Detailer. I’ve been using it for two years, and it works great. I think there’s a bit of video in your ad.
At the current price the DIY Detail is more expensive per ounce, Meguiars is currently on sale at Walmart for $17.62 for 26 oz so no shipping cost either.
Meguires ceramic hybrid wax, blue bottle. It works very well when you buff it in on dry paint. So, wash... decontamination, then add the wax and buff it in until it dries/flashes off. Let it cure for a couple days. I have seen it last for months... even pushing soaps off.
Meguiars prob been reformulated. I have a bottle over a year old and i did the same test on spoiler i took off my car bout 6 months ago and sprayed the same turtle wax cleaner. It held up way better than it did in this video without a cure time
I hate to say this but I always get far better beading than this guy does. Not sure what he's doing but his application is botched. I've used HCD and the beading is much better than this.
Calculate BY THE OUNCE! 26 oz for $20 = 77 cents per oz. 16 oz for $15 = 94 cents per oz. Sooooo it is MORE EXPENSIVE for the "CHEAP". Jeeze, DO THE MATH NEXT TIME ! ! ! !
Have you tried Pro Wax Synergy Ceramic Detail Spray? Cost about $29 a gallon and is made in house in CA & or KY. It has performed quite well and very reasonably priced.
Would love to see a Cheap Vs Expensive that includes Adam's Rinse + Coat as you can get it now for $6 per bottle without any discounts! Love the videos Jimbo!
I wouldn't say this is cheap vs expensive. Either way CG is better to me. I have quite a few bottles left of the Meguiar's, but really only would use it as a temporary topper not for actual protection, and NEVER as a standalone.
That ceramic green bottle you got is only meant for maintenance after you’ve applied a real ceramic of Maguires Cream version So you can’t really test it with the other one it will not hold up to see that one is on your plate for maintenance on anything that has ceramic on it already the green bottle
Around 6 months, but it really depends on where the car is parked, driving conditions etc. could last 1-2 years if the car is parked inside and only driven in ideal conditions.
Funny in France, meguiars cost only 19e on auto center. But for some detailer guys meguiars brand was very bad quality and not a good choice. 750ml for 19e, this result and easy of apply, its still à very good product for me
During your “torture test” how do you simulate heat? I think this plays a major factor product testing. There are a couple products (not these) that claim a year or 6 months and don’t even last half that time in the Florida summers. I just think maybe try to find a way to incorporate heat in your test.
Calculate BY THE OUNCE! 26 oz for $20 = 77 cents per oz. 16 oz for $15 = 94 cents per oz. Sooooo it is MORE EXPENSIVE PER OUNCE for the "CHEAP". DO THE MATH NEXT TIME ! ! ! !
One year later the Meguiars is $16.99 and DIY price is $19.99. Nothing against DIY but their prices are comparable to Carpro and KC. I plan on doing some tests with DIY vs the pros
Quizas el Diy detail resiste un poco más pero no tiene la función de limpiar, y Meguiar's hybrid detailer hace las 3 (limpiar , hojas y perlas )... 🇵🇷☕🇺🇸
Do you use turtle wax hybrid, ceramic solutions as a topper or detail spray? Because I use the Maguires detail spray and it seems to work pretty good. I have no complaints.
@@autodetailingpodcast I’m sure they have better APCs out there but 2.5 gallons of super clean for $20-$22 dollars of the shelf from Walmart is not bad at all.
Love your videos! I found you when I was trying to decide which wheel cleaner to get for my Jeep's American Outlaw black painted spoke rims. Thanks so much!
Id argue the DIY Detail was the expensive one here. :P $15 for 16oz (It's actually $20 now) vs $20 for 26oz (Which you can get for $18 and a 32oz for $25)
@@autodetailingpodcast It is a good product tho. Sadly the smaller companies kind of have to charge a bit more as they just cant purchase the kind of bulk resources to create their product like the bigger brands can.
@@autodetailingpodcast I've testing both and so have alot of others on TH-cam. Hcw definitely has been water beading, protection, last longer. I just use it as a drying aid though don't just spray it an rinse off like they say.
Lol DIY detail is cheaper then Maguire's, its spendier and its a better product over all. The Maguire's ceramic detail was never really a good product. A few washes and its gone, reminds me more of a wax then a spray sealant
With the connections Yvan has I would hardly call this a new brand. He has been in the industry for years. I don't know who his blender is. But most detail products are made by the same company and you just slap your label on it. Like ethos is rebranded adams which is actually b and b blending. Just like xtreme solutions. It's all just marketing ploys.
@kristitorres21 b and b blending makes adams polishes products and xtreme solution products. Topper, slick and slide and obsessed garage drying aid are all b and b blendings slipstream.
I applied the DIY Detail Ceramic QD as a drying aid for the first time this week and the gloss was something else. The self cleaning is a added bonus

LOL double the price yet it's supposedly cheaper....
Your channel has saved me to much time not doing trial and error with products! Greatly appreciated.
I’ll stick with Meg’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax and top it off with the Hybrid Detailer. I’ve been using it for two years, and it works great. I think there’s a bit of video in your ad.
Great video Jimbo. Yeah, go Nick and Yvan! I have yet to try something from their lineup that isn't awesome.
Thank you David!

Noted. Thank you.
Why do you spray more on the Meguiars side?!
Meguires ceramic hybrid wax, blue bottle.

Exactly, this video is a bit rushed up. Not bad, but not objective
Meguiar's stuff is very good and last way longer than this "test"

Damn, I’m going to get some of that DIY stuff because it’s brand new! I watched pan the organizer introduce it!
Sooo, your basically comparing cheap vs cheap actually. You get 26oz for $20 vs 16oz for $15. Theres no actual cheap vs expensive comparison.
Plus shipping 😅

The CG lasts, which makes it cheaper.
I got my meguiars for $9 💀

The new Avalon King quick spray ceramic coat would be worth a torture test.
I'm so happy to see you back doing this we have missed you!

Love the tests ! Thanks Jimbo

Well someone understood the name “Ceramic Detailer” 😂
@@oPraxy lmao
They both are detailers.......
Highly recommend DIY CERAMIC GLOSS.
Hello. Great test. Interesting results. How long do you think DIY Detail Ceramic Gloss will last on the surface?
Around 6 months, but it really depends on where the car is parked, driving conditions etc. could last 1-2 years if the car is parked inside and only driven in ideal conditions.
Great video! Love these videos. Keep them coming - Cheap Vs. Expensive 💯🔥

I do notice throughout a slight bias throughout from difference in the application of product, amounts of harsh chemicals used.
really?

750ml for 19e, this result and easy of apply, its still à very good product for me
DIY detail isn’t “cheap” anymore! They jacked the price way up!
I believe the DIY Ceramic Gloss has a 30 min cure time.
It can be exposed immediately, but after 30 mins it is fully cured and slicker.

Ouch.
Cheaper is just as good as the big boy. Hey, is that the Bauer blower ? I love mine.
Flex blower
Do they offer in gallon size?
Not at the moment, but they are coming soon.
Awesome diy performance! Also, do you like your flex blower? And how does it do with leaves?🤣
its just OK in my opinion, works well to dry off a panel, kinda frustrating to do a whole car with.
What pressure washer are you using?

@@autodetailingpodcast Couldn't find the price for that blower.. how much will it cost ?

If you really want to see a good product work next time use gasoline or acetone and lets see if the product holds up
Agreed. I remember old videos from apex detail with his cocktail of harsh chemicals (gasoline, atf fluid etc.) and seal n shine survived some rounds
Theres no way the meguiars detail spay is better than hybrid ceramic wax
Why not?
@@autodetailingpodcast I've testing both and so have alot of others on TH-cam. Hcw definitely has been water beading, protection, last longer. I just use it as a drying aid though don't just spray it an rinse off like they say.

OMG this is so screwed up. The DIY detail is $5 more and hard to find.
