- Hi friends today I am going to show how to make 48v ,18A electric bike Battery pack at home.
Here I used
1. 48 Lifepo4 cell (3.2v ,6000mAh ,2000 life cycle)
2 . 16s , 40 A lifepo4 battery BMS two port
3. Battery holder
4. Epoxy Resin board (yellow one)
5. kapton tape
6. H shape Nickel Strip
7 . PVC heat shrinkable tube battery cover ,etc

is one layer of nickel strip enough for 18Ah ? It does look thicker than the cheap one though
hi - is there a particular reason why you stack it as 10s+6s and not 8s+8s (symmetrical-wise) before putting bms?

can someone who know about batteries tell me if its ok to build 13s 4p that normally needs 52 batteries with just 45 batteries . That mean the last set only will have 6 batteries connectes in series with each other and in parallel with other 3 sets of 13s ????

It is not bms problem , if any series of your battery pack discharge then bms stop working .

Incase of price li ion mas mura..
Lifopo4 are a little bit saver but when the are on fire like lithium it wont go out and water makes it even worse as its a metal fire.
Lifopo4 would be good for powerwalls imo but lithium can hold more capasity
I would recommend to fuse every cell or atleast have a breaker as the bms can fail so a breaker is for extra safety

The title says “ 48 volts 18 amps” but you have used 16 cells in series. That totals to 51.2 volts and not 48 volts. Why are you using 16 cells instead of 15 cells for a 48 volts battery ?

Hi. I have made a 48v 30ah battery pack. But the BMS cut offs discharge at 47v and charging cut-off at 50v of the entire battery pack.
So I checked each series and the balance function is not working properly. Different series have different voltage values.
The min voltage is 2.88v while discharging and max voltage while charging is 3.4v .
Can you tell me what the problem is?

Nope, you can't use like that. There are specific BMS for LiFePo4 and li ion . Both are different.
