How could she possibly be in the Megamycete when the E-Type Mutamycete and the normal Mutamycete are different types of Mutamycete? Not to mention, Eveline formed her own fungal network from the E-Type Mutamycete in America, yet somehow, she can connect to the Megamycete's network which is in Europe. Eveline was never absorbed into the Megamycete. In fact, in Resident Evil 7, when you kill Marguerite, she doesn't appear in the hive mind, so theoretically, if you die in the real world, your consciousness should not be present in the Realm of Consciousness, yet Eveline was different for whatever reason. There's also the part with her interfering with Miranda is some sort of way. Did she interfere with Miranda trying to turn Rose into Eva 16 years ago? Did she interfere with the process of making Rose clones? Why does Eveline never mention Miranda? I mean, Eveline is such a negligible plot element. You remove her, nothing changes in the DLC. The developers didn't even try to make Eveline have a lasting impact in the plot. We just suppress her, and she's gone, not even appearing in the final encounter. What a pointless element to the story. -If Miranda views Eveline as inferior, why would she call Rose Eveline's successor and then say that Rose is Eveline in the main experience. Miranda clearly views Rose as special, but to compare her to Eveline or even call Rose, Eveline, doesn't make any sense. -For some reason, at the end of the DLC, when Rose returns to the real world, she has the wedding ring Ethan had on her finger. She never had it on in the beginning of the DLC. What am I supposed to take from this? That it transferred from the Realm of Consciousness to here? How does that make any sense? You ask me, the developers forgot to include the wedding ring in the beginning cutscene, since these developers didn't have much common sense when designing most of Village and all of this DLC. Not to mention that other people have for some reason tried to use this transference process to say that Ethan is the mysterious figure in the distance at the end of the final cutscene and that the developer's made it like that to give Ethan a happy ending, which is such a dense comment. For one thing, Ethan is dead because he reached his Hayflick Limit (a concept established in the End of Zoe DLC) and he was crystallizing at the end of Resident Evil Village. He even tells Chris that him and Miranda finished each other off, so Ethan knew he was on his last legs. The Duke even says that Ethan's body is falling apart before Ethan goes to fight Miranda. So it makes no sense for him to be alive. Also, how can anyone think that being a mysterious figure in the distance is somehow a happy ending? Would you like it if your favorite character was in the distance unable to be recognized? Were those other people seriously thinking that mysterious figure was Ethan before PC mods and bugs in Photo Mode allowed people to see who that mysterious figure was? I've never heard of anything so ridiculous in all my life. Like I love Ethan Winters, but I'd much rather have him being alive make sense and not violate the lore established in RE7. And the last point on this is that it makes no sense having him be brought back to life because the developers literally said "The father's story is done" and they also said this would be the last time they would focus on the Winters' family, so even if Ethan's now amassed a greater following, the developers have no reason to bring him back. -Mia doesn't even appear in this DLC. Someone who is a crucial part to Ethan's character, doesn't appear at all. Most likely, the developers couldn't get Katie O'Hagan to do the role again, so they cut Mia out of this DLC. -We have a badly designed character in Rose; we have no appearance of Mia; and we have a character who for some reason, people think is alive in the end but is just a mysterious figure in the distance who has no chance of returning. Not to mention, him being absorbed into the Megamycete doesn't make sense, nor does he have enough exposure to the Mutamycete to even retain his mental faculties, yet he does. They screwed the Winters' family hard with this DLC. How insulting and offensive. They rushed this DLC to a fiery end because too many fans wanted them out of the way. And I get that the developers started this DLC directly after Resident Evil Village was finished, so they only had less than a year to develop this DLC, but I have played incredible games that were only developed for 10 months for instance. There is no excuse for this incompetence on the developer's part.
My favourite line is "A fucking POCKET KNIFE?!" He knows that knives won't do you shit in the Resident Evil world against Bio-Organic Weaponry like the moulded Baker family.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE” “WHY IS EVERYONE DYING ON ME?!” “WHY THE FUCK IS THIS HAPPENING AGAIN?!” “Who the fuck are you?” That transition made me die 😂😂
I love that as both games go on, Ethan progressively gets less scared of the Bakers, Molded, Lords and Lycans. He just starts getting angrier and practically spits on them every time they die.
My favorite line, "Eat Shit," RE7 has a lot of bangers but I audibly laughed to this one in RE8, as he and I had the same reaction to killing the super big hammer fuck.
Ethan got so much hate when he was introduced. I personally think he's one of the best protagonists in the RE series. From one concerned guy looking for his wife, to an absolute legend.
@@idi-jq6cj I like to think he isn't truly gone; didn't he intertwine his life force from the megamycite into Rose's Life force? So he can p much visit her (as a memory/vision) whenever now?
It’s not in here, but another bit that gets me is when Ethan goes to look at Rose’s baby carriage, promising to take her for a walk once the weather clears up (though of course that moment never comes 😔).
I know. The “colorful” banter from the older RE characters could get old fast, but somehow, Ethan’s quotes never get old. Ethan’s dialogue also helps him be relatable to the viewer, as I’m sure coming up with so called “colorful, witty” banter as people say, is tough for many.
Ethan often says things that I'm thinking and I'm going through my first playthrough and I'll often say out loud "dude I was just about to say that" 😂 I love it. Ethan is also effortlessly funny. I love Leon but with him it was a tad forced in RE4 and RE4R
I absolutely love how he's getting more frustrated and annoyed in 7. And then in 8 it's frustrated, annoyed, and confused. It's just so funny hearing him so done with those people shenanigans.
“Fuck You you crazy bitch!” Is by far my favorite line since it sounds like something that someone in that situation would say. For me It’s the contrast between Ethan’s lines and every other protagonist in this series, he doesn’t have some badass quip that he says to her, he has a realistic one
It’s what makes him relatable and is necessary in contrasting him from the other protagonists. And in a way, it makes him not feel as cartoony or anime-like in his dialogue. People don’t realize how hard it is to come up with a quip and when they try to do so, the quip can end up being awkward. Ethan Winters is awesome.
I feel like that line would be the most requested by Ethan fans to his VA lol. Sadly, todd soley is a very private person and will never do an interview or even a fan signing like Maggie and Nicole does
So happy to find another fan like you too. Ethan Winters, the biggest underdog of the Resident Evil series. A legend. Why else would he be my profile pic?
@@idi-jq6cj I haven't been able to find anyone who agrees until now, people always tend to say he's a boring character but he's soooo not. Honestly the best part of these games hahhaha. I love your pfp also
@@drownedfishba It’s funny how they call Ethan boring yet they don’t say the same thing for the old characters in their first games. I mean look at Jill and Chris, aside from some cringy dialogue, did they ever express any real personality in RE1 Remake?

XD
1:16 "Okay, you little bitch, where the fuck are you?" is just the most funniest Ethan line to me. It always makes me laugh with every playthrough lmao That delivery really captures Ethans im-so-fed-up-with-this-shit attitude. 😂
I love this character, not because he has depth or anything (maybe he has in 8) but because he's just a normal guy who loves his wife and kid so much he'd fight monsters. Ethan gives off Big Good Boy energy.
7:02 is one of my favorites because of the context of Ethan as a character, his situation, and the shit he’s seen/been through. I can literally imagine an ordinary man who’s been through hell and back TWICE (this time to save his child) reacting like this, for the most part
Ethan went from systems engineer to badass savior in just two incredible installments of this franchise. He was so bound and determined to get his family back that he didn't care who or what he had to go through to ensure their safety.
Ethan is hands down one of the best resident evil characters ever, i might even go further and say i like him more than Leon, his voice actor is insanely good, hes funny, and most importantly, a badass father.
As someone who is also named Ethan, I find the Ethan Winters Resident Evil games extra horrifying for me. Especially since it's a first-person game, and it makes me feel I am actually suffering Ethan's pain. It's so creepy!
Immediately fell in love with the character, badass drove to Louisiana to find his missing wife. Just a Regular dude........ who ends up killing - Jack the unstoppable powerhouse - Margaret who is an insect woman who can create small insects who attack you - And Lucas who is basically a Discount Jigsaw And after all that. We get RE8 and the finalie to his story, he was a total badass from the start
What made him great is that the guy start it out as a normal family man that none of the main character were, suddenly throw into a conflict with next-level BOW threat that never deal before, and then out of nowhere, the guy has the most endurance out of any character in the series. The first time being chop, he was quickly able to use painkiller liquid and stretched the sliced part back to lower the pain, when supposedly one in his shoe would panic a lot without knowing what to do until he's dead because of blood loss. Not even the best protagonist Subaru in Re:Zero can do this, which said a lot.
That and for his first and second time fighting BOWs, the threats were way more severe and he’s dealt with not only Biological horror but Psychological horror as well.
I love ethan as a character. He's so normal but thats what makes him compelling and he put himself through hell for his family twice. Ultimate gigachad ethan
Practically unkillable due to the mold, cutting out the BS, trained really hard for a civilian becoming quite proficient in combat, he might not be the strongest but man he was fearless. Also... he needed no rocket launcher to finish the job. And of course just a hell of a dad not giving a F about anything but saving his family, what an absolute unit that knew that his nightmares could be beaten if these pissed him enough.
Except Chris’ encounters with the E-Type Mutamycete BOWs would’ve informed him that it takes more than 5 shots to the head to deal with them. Furthermore, he should’ve been aware that permanent death of individuals infected with the Mutamycete results in biocrystallization.
I find it funny that he started off with finding his Wife Mia, then being pulled into the RE Universe, now he's up there with Leon, Chris, Jill and what not.
@klemsoda in 7, i feel he was characterized as a man of few words who progressively got more angry and frustrated at what was going on in the baker estate, it was done near perfectly. he didn't speak that much, but still spoke enough to be my favorite character from 7, tied with zoe and jack.
i love ethan cause he was. some guy. mia was the one involved in all the crazy science bullshit he just wanted to find her but it cost him his life :(((
idk if im the only one who thinks ethan and leon has some very similar attributes or maybe im just tweaking i love them both, theyre my fav re characters
He saw more crazy, deadly things his first and second time fighting BOWs, and even survived the brink of death from Eveline in RE7, than the older Resident Evil characters their first and second times fighting BOWs.
3:03 GODDAMMIT HE DIDN'T DESERVE THE SHIT THAT HAPPENED TO HIM. HE'S SUCH A GOOD FATHER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

There is no excuse for this incompetence on the developer's part.
he died twice, came back, and died again. god. damn. legend.
Hell Yeah. Give Glory to the Legendary Ethan Winters.
@@idi-jq6cj wondering if he’s the most powerful RE protagonist, I’ve not seen the others die twice and come back both times
And the both times he died it was trying to help/protect his family. Legendary man
And then he came back again, saves his daughter, and died again
@@straffanvonarfan6549 he’s like the jason vorheese of re but he isn’t a serial killer
My favourite line is "A fucking POCKET KNIFE?!"
He knows that knives won't do you shit in the Resident Evil world against Bio-Organic Weaponry like the moulded Baker family.
Oh yes, my favorite Ethan Winters quote:
"FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK JESUS FUCK"
- Ethan Winters
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE”
“WHY IS EVERYONE DYING ON ME?!”
“WHY THE FUCK IS THIS HAPPENING AGAIN?!”
“Who the fuck are you?”
That transition made me die 😂😂

I love that as both games go on, Ethan progressively gets less scared of the Bakers, Molded, Lords and Lycans. He just starts getting angrier and practically spits on them every time they die.
My favorite line, "Eat Shit,"
RE7 has a lot of bangers but I audibly laughed to this one in RE8, as he and I had the same reaction to killing the super big hammer fuck.
Ethan the greatest hero of the series. Such a solid voice
100% agree
Too bad his Voice actor won't do any interviews, all the other Voice actors did.
@@consolefortnite8761 Todd Soley’s a private person I believe.

I feel the same. 😢
Died too soon
Same with man Clancy Jarvis
Ethan somehow went from normal every day guy just looking for his wife, to an unrepentant badass in just the span of two games
The elevation in craziness was more extreme than between RE1 and RE6
“This is getting old Jack” was always memorable for me. Maybe because I was feeling the same frustration 💀
Almost as good as "You want STARS, I'll give you STARS"
@@danielgeronimo5538almost as good as "This is getting old, Jack."
Ethan got so much hate when he was introduced. I personally think he's one of the best protagonists in the RE series.
From one concerned guy looking for his wife, to an absolute legend.
May the Legend Rest in Peace. He deserves it for being amazing.
@@idi-jq6cj I like to think he isn't truly gone; didn't he intertwine his life force from the megamycite into Rose's Life force? So he can p much visit her (as a memory/vision) whenever now?
“a fucking pocket knife?” is engraved in my brain forever. it’s so funny to me
there’s just something so wholesome with ethan playing with rose 🥺
Agreed
When I hear a new line related to Rose my heart melts. "We'll have a drink together when you're all Grown up" AHHH!
It’s not in here, but another bit that gets me is when Ethan goes to look at Rose’s baby carriage, promising to take her for a walk once the weather clears up (though of course that moment never comes 😔).
he does the bare minimum but he does it amazingly, hes just that good
I love Ethan’s dialogue because it is so realistic
I love Leon but with him it was a tad forced in RE4 and RE4R
he's right up there with kyle crane for me; always saying the most sensible shit a dude could say in outlandishly bad situations LOL
I absolutely love how he's getting more frustrated and annoyed in 7. And then in 8 it's frustrated, annoyed, and confused. It's just so funny hearing him so done with those people shenanigans.
"Ok, fine." Is such a badass underrated quote
I like it so much; I find myself saying it in passing.
When Ethan said "What the hell is this, an evil residence?" The world became a better place.
''We love you Ethan Winters!" we all say in unison
We love you Ethan Winters!
@@nikobellic8002 shush niko, go bowling
3:05 I'm convinced that that laugh is genuine when he read that line
it honestly sounds genuine, great voice acting if it isn’t
Sadly, todd soley is a very private person and will never do an interview or even a fan signing like Maggie and Nicole does
@@valkyriearih4268 that somehow seems fitting for the “faceless” hero of 7 and 8

@@idi-jq6cj I haven't been able to find anyone who agrees until now, people always tend to say he's a boring character but he's soooo not. He's such a badass, his commentary is always great, and all the stuff he goes through just for his family is so respectable I can't understand how anyone doesn't like him. Honestly the best part of these games hahhaha. I love your pfp also

Lmao I just finished the game and that shit made me spit my coffee out
5:59 it's funny that he able to make a dad joke out of this situation
That's when you know you're a father
The dad patch came in
I love this character, not because he has depth or anything (maybe he has in 8)
but because he's just a normal guy who loves his wife and kid so much he'd fight monsters.
THE CUT ON THE YOUR FUNERAL PART I CANT 6:46
Ethan went from systems engineer to badass savior in just two incredible installments of this franchise. He was so bound and determined to get his family back that he didn't care who or what he had to go through to ensure their safety.
Ethan is hands down one of the best resident evil characters ever, i might even go further and say i like him more than Leon, his voice actor is insanely good, hes funny, and most importantly, a badass father.
He’s definitely better than RE4 Remake Leon, that’s for sure. Thanks for the comment.
@@idi-jq6cj You know its a good character when he takes stuff seriously but still manages to make it funny

You just made me think:
“Oh, you Ethan from Resident Evil 7?”
😂
As someone who is also named Ethan, I find the Ethan Winters Resident Evil games extra horrifying for me. Especially since it's a first-person game, and it makes me feel I am actually suffering Ethan's pain. It's so creepy!
Definitely my favorite character in the whole series.
Agreed
3:05 shows how much nice ethan can be
Bro sounds so nice and then says something like this 1:16
Very few characters have ever saved a video game and Ethan winters is not just the poster boy but the damn president
2:23 Ethan is such a gentleman☺️
He such a goat on every game. I really want more of him.
“A fuckin pocket knife” this man
Ethan is what would happen if a Silent Hill protagonist got thrown into a Resident Evil game and its a blast to watch
I think 0:02 is his moment Ethan’s character starts to shift. He goes straight from “oh no” to “I’ll do what I have to”
Immediately fell in love with the character, badass drove to Louisiana to find his missing wife. Just a Regular dude........ who ends up killing
- Jack the unstoppable powerhouse
- Margaret who is an insect woman who can create small insects who attack you
- And Lucas who is basically a Discount Jigsaw
And after all that. We get RE8 and the finalie to his story, he was a total badass from the start
He went through so much in just 2 Resident Evil games. It’s crazy.
7:35 My favorite one
I love ethan as a character. He's so normal but thats what makes him compelling and he put himself through hell for his family twice.
Ultimate gigachad ethan
I come to this video from time to time to listen to the man with some of the best one-liners
The legendary Ethan Winters definitely delivers.
I love how normal his reactions are. He’s how anyone would react 😭
“That’s special”
Ethan was savage in re7 its like he doesn't give a fk to anything.
Ethan Winters, best dad of all times.
He gets more confident with time
Practically unkillable due to the mold, cutting out the BS, trained really hard for a civilian becoming quite proficient in combat, he might not be the strongest but man he was fearless. Also... he needed no rocket launcher to finish the job. And of course just a hell of a dad not giving a F about anything but saving his family, what an absolute unit that knew that his nightmares could be beaten if these pissed him enough.
Ethan is like Arnold Schwarzenegger. His one liners never fails to make me laugh even if it sounds cool.
“Do I get a say in this?”
Miranda and the four lords: *No*
People saying Ethan was boring in RE7 when he had one liners for days.
3:03 stop this is so cute
I love his lines when he gets fed up
3:30
"Ethan, I have been through a lot of situations where things don't just stay dead from a single bullet. Gotta be absolutely sure"
Except Chris’ encounters with the E-Type Mutamycete BOWs would’ve informed him that it takes more than 5 shots to the head to deal with them. Furthermore, he should’ve been aware that permanent death of individuals infected with the Mutamycete results in biocrystallization.
“This is getting old, jack.”
*yes indeed*
I find it funny that he started off with finding his Wife Mia, then being pulled into the RE Universe, now he's up there with Leon, Chris, Jill and what not.
4:25 “ uhh no I’m Ethan” he speaking facts

in 7, i feel he was characterized as a man of few words who progressively got more angry and frustrated at what was going on in the baker estate, it was done near perfectly. he didn't speak that much, but still spoke enough to be my favorite character from 7, tied with zoe and jack.

His raspy, frustrated (protective?) yet low-key “fucking done” voice sounds so sexy actually-
To say Ethan has seen some shit would be an understatement
He saw more crazy, deadly things his first and second time fighting BOWs, and even survived the brink of death from Eveline in RE7, than the older Resident Evil characters their first and second times fighting BOWs.
