I loved @home! You got the same meal set with green tea that I did lol, it was so tasty and the maids were so adorable, I can't imagine someone going there and not leaving in the best mood possible. The Pokemon Cafe wasn't around last summer when I went, so I'm excited to book a reservation there this summer when I go back!

AAAAHHHH!!! I got so excited when I saw the My Melody onesie because I got it for Christmas this year! I even wore it in a video lol. It's so comfy that I wore it to bed every night for four days straight lmao

There are like 5 Pokémon Centers in Tokyo alone, so don't worry, I'm sure you still had an amazing visit!! And I plan to go back in 1-2 years :) I am very determined, but not sure how to save up yet LOL. I left a piece of my heart in Japan.

I went through the whole duolingo and I'm still pretty bad at it ;v; I think it would help a lot if i was just better w hiragana actually otl. I mostly wanted to learn so i could talk with japanese anime fans on twitter haha

I have a quick question: Is it really necessary to be able to speak Japanese in order to visit the adorable places you visit? Would I be able to get around okay with just a bit of basic Japanese? ;w;
Of course! In countryside areas you may struggle, but in Tokyo learning to say just a handful of useful words would be fine. It's much nicer being able to communicate in those Japanese words than just not even trying, so I totally like your attitude of saying "a bit of basic Japanese" instead of "not speaking any Japanese". The main ones to use would be: "Arigatou" (ah-ree-gah-toh)- Thank you (add "gozaimasu" goh-zy-mass - to be extra polite) "Sumimasen" (soo-mee-mah-sehn)- Excuse Me / Sorry (can be used as an apology, to politely get someone's attention, or when pushing past in trains etc) "Konichiwa" kohn-ee-chee-wah- Hello For goodbye, don't say sayonara (it's very serious)- instead you can simply say "Bye Bye!" in english (common in Japan). Of course, you probably know the terms "kawaii" (cute) and sugoi (awesome). Exclaiming these is very normal in Japan, to pay compliments etc! Add desu (pronounced "dess") to be more polite.
Nerdy Unicorn No, but I totally understand the confusion! For places that I filmed in great detail, they get their own special video. Then for the full day trip, a smaller version is included (for example here, the café footage is cut down to only a third of my full Pokémon Café video’s coverage time). I did the same with the Spank! Fairy kei shop 😊 It’s because otherwise the main vlogs would be almost an hour long lol!!
