I used to wanna 100% cash for housing (If im getting one) because I wanted an easier time to reach FRS. But recently I keep thinking like not worth to use so much cash. cuz my monthly DCA would take a major hit. Now I'm leaning more towards utilizing cpf as much as I can and If i cannot hit frs i will throw a portion of my investment portfolio to achieve it at 55.
Hi Chris, I know HDB only allow a retention of max $20k in the CPF OA and any excess has to be used for the housing. What’s your take on CPF OA shielding whereby any excess is used to invest first nearing key collection so that these excesses will not need to be used to offset the housing loan?
Thanks for you being you ❤Everyone’s journey is different and what you’ve shared worked for you while others may try other routes. My CPF journey began in my 30s as I had other routes in my 20s so it’s just never too late to start from somewhere. Kudos for sticking to your own plan despite the naysayers 👏🏻🙌🏻🎉
Transfer + 1. But I am turning 39. with salary lower than fresh grad. thinking if i transfer OA to SA then housing will be a no go for at least another 5 years.
Sorry I want to verify one fact. You mentioned that your monthly cpf contribution is now all flow to OA because you already hit MA BHS, and SA FRS. For sa, I thought as long as you are below 55, a portion of your cpf contribution will still flow to SA regardless if you hit frs?

I have only started to transfer my OA to SA few years ago and attained FRS. How I wish I had done it earlier. Never too late, I guess.
Nah OA is always reserved for property. Be it own stay or investment. Other cash invested will always out strip whatever cpf sa ra has

That’s what I’m doing, dumped everything in endowus. Earnings from sp500 should cover the interest from hdb loan and still earn.
@@Wagmi0 until the market crashes on you. how will you cover your loan?
I did it. Good or bad, only time will tell

You are doing well!
If u dun invest in ur OA and dun need for housing, den is better to transfer to SA. That my take. Haha

Personally I would think a roof over our head has to come first. If it could help you fetch some rental income then it would be even better.
Most who belittle CPF usually only realise their mistakes when they are about 1 or 2 decades too late

I was specifically talking about MA contributions flow
Below 55, it will go to SA.
please share compare excel here thanks
Wat s wrong w transf OA into SA , and what is wrong with using CPF for housing loans? why should pp against
OA > SA is 1 way street, u can't use it for housing after that move. If u are lacking downpayment it will really hinder your property journey.
@@Sim555-s9iall knew that,& some have already progressed byond downpaymt era
