At times during a ghazal, the singer narrates the meaning of the "sher" / verse to the audience as some of the words used may be Persian / Arabic / Urdu which may not be familiar to the audience...a wonderful gazal by Nasir Kazimi (born in India, migrated to Pakistan during partition).........set of 'sher' combine to form a gazal, which may be rather long and so some of these 'sher's' are considered while singing/performances.

Incidentally - Papon was my first ever singer whom I heard live on stage in a Coke Studio concert happened in my college back in 2012. That time I didn't know who he was, what he sang until he ended his performance with "Jiyein Kyun" & "Kyon Na Hum Tum". We were there for Vishal Dadlani's "Madaari"😄

You should definitely check out Arijit Singh on MUSIC PODCAST. It's very rare that he involves such type of engagements. The conversation is in Hindi but subtitles are available. You can understand why this person is a legend in his field!!! He is truly a great soul.
