Thank you Bandrew for everything thing you do. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. This goes back to a joke comment I made, but has real merit. I said "RE20 is better than SM7B.... (for my voice)". That week, a friend was asking me why his voice sounds off when using his Shure microphone when EQ is flat but sounds great on his sE V7. I told him that the voice in your head will not sound the same when recorded unless you are used to listening to it recorded. Also, different mics will treat your voice differently because of the pattern they pick up and the frequency response. Because of this, some mics sound like gold on certain people but terrible on others. For me, the RE20 is a better mic for my vocal pattern. For Bandrew the SM7B does sound better than the RE20. We don't have the same voice so it won't be the same experience with the same microphone.
Microphone humour is where it's at, luv u too Bamdreu UwU PS. Can't wait for that Shmur MVSex review! (that went too far I'm sorry) PPS. Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy your time off. You earned every second of it and more
One of my favourite TH-camrs (Rossboomsocks) often puts out very chill videos on holidays, no theme or whistles and bells, just a hanging out shooting the breeze and playing games video. In future years you could consider making some old fashioned simple videos for the holiday season which start by explaining that they are bonus content for the festive season and aim for a warm conversational tone like the BSP, but while reviewing or demonstrating a mic on podcastage (without following the rigorous formula). I always appreciate bonus content and don't think it would dilute the rigour of the main channel.
Bandrew, as you get more impressions your click through rate always goes down. It makes sense because you are getting more impressions but only a percentage of people will click. TH-cam has said that early higher click through rate matters more, so the video will continue to get more impressions and that has been my experience. If the thumb is good, you'll see repeat moments when your click through rate will be high again, as YT find a new group and then it will fall again as more people click. Classic example... Mark Rober has low click through rate but millions of views.
That NEw-Mon microphone Short made me laugh until the next segment started I'm still chuckling f-it, i'm rewatching that, it's TOP microphone comedy, Bandrew 👍
Hey Bandrew, big fan for a long time here! I think an overview of your mic collection would make for a very interesting video. Dunno, maybe something like "Biggest Microphone Collection" or "Most Diverse"?
I've found that A/B testing thumbnails makes the algorithm show the video to more people than usual just because it's got a new way to present the video to people
Hey bandrew I started watching your videos because I'm building a home studio in my garage and I needed to learn about the differences between microphones to decide which ones to buy. My budget is pretty tight so I have to take into consideration all of the clone microphones, budget microphones, and obscure vintage microphones like shures catalog from the 60s and 70s then try and figure out the best solution for vocals, drums, and guitar/bass. There's a lot to choose from, it can be overwhelming, but channels like your help me figure it out. I think a lot of your subscribers share a similar situation.
I feel any content creation should be left to "priority.". Is it worth being that 1st, 2nd, 3rd priority? Because that informs the time, effort, and more importantly the enjoyment of doing so. Even the most basic stuff required time investment. What it shouldn't do is become a hindrance to what is higher up the priority chain.
Thank you for buying all those expensive microphones so we don't have to. I almost bought a Sennheiser 416 once, but managed to talk myself out of it last minute. So far, the Shure SM7B is my most expensive microphone, and I hope it stays that way forever.
14:48 "There's an audience of like six for microphone humour..." Yep. But I had to find that out the hard way... Well, for what it's worth, I did enjoy your clip.
Since this episode my review has come out. I just don't like the lack of bass, and the upper mid treble focus on this thing. It's just not pleasing compared to the alternatives. Is it fine, sure. But I'd personally go a different route since I don't need that real time processing.
It could be interesting, since you make other videos each week, for you to have a section where you record these videos with two mics you think are similar and switch back and forth. That change could give your comparisons a new angle. And, you'd be collecting the data along the way of testing.
In my experience, A/B Testing on TH-cam doesn’t necessarily result in increased clicks to gather enough data for deciding which thumbnail performs better. In fact, after the official testing period, TH-cam informed me with a message stating that the A/B test couldn’t be completed due to insufficient data. That's how bad my videos perform.
Helpful video. I have a podcast now in it's 8th year and I constantly wrestle with these questions. I usually interview world class drummers. I want the quality to be as good as I can make it but my guests usually just use their laptop cams and mics and no lights. I use a Logitech Brio, Neewer lights, and a Heil PR 40 into a Rodecaster Pro, generally recording in Zoom because that's what my guests know how to use. To up my game any further would serve to emphasize the poor quality of my guest feeds, so I'm standing pat for now. The show will never offset expenses so how good does it need to be, anyway?
You can rent microphones. I know that sounds insane, but it is possible. You can rent, make the video, increase your ROI substantially. However. There really is nothing like that new microphone smell.
Copy and paste the comparisons. Keep them in a folder called "comparisons". Wear the same clothes every time. Rewrite the matrix. You're the one, Neo-Bandrew
I wouldn't blame you if you took money, so long as you keep the reviews real. And since you are actually letting us listen to things it is not really feasible to fake it. A yt channel in general is not a get rich idea but on the other hand if you are retired or live in a cheap country what's great is you can do this anywhere and on your own time when you have it.
I don't know what possessed shure to make cheap gamer mics I know the margins are probably better and the market is larger, but it feels like they're tarnishing their reputation making something that's worse than a rode podmic.
Don't mean to "rooster-block" you bud, but I'd bet my bottom dollar that your analytics say it's a sausage fest 'round here. But hey on the bright side, no woman will ever know how much you actually spend on mics. There's that.
Danke!

f-it, i'm rewatching that, it's TOP microphone comedy, Bandrew 👍
Have you thought of selling the reviewed microphones as "Breathed on by Bandrew" as an ebay selling point?
Happy Thanksgiving brother!
(making Christmas list notes)
Bandrew wants Internet keyboard warrior threats. ✅
All I want for Christmas is hate.
You tricked me! I clicked on the darn thing 😂
Nice one again 🙌🏼
I GOT ONE! WOOHOO! Thanks Alex!
For the thumbnail, left to right is superior, as it always is regardless of the situation

I have joked that I will be doing the full microphone reveal when (if ever) I hit 500k subs. At this rate...see y'all in like 25 years. LOL!

Thank you so much for the kind words Christopher, I truly appreciate it and I am really happy to hear the videos have helped.

Hi Bandrew, would u be joining the Spotify partner program for spotify for Creators? It seems like spotify once to take on TH-cam.
I love vintage Podcastage videos!
You were so full of life. (and pizza)
I swear, the sE V7 is the best side address microphone. Feedback is practically eliminated.
That W87 would be great for work zoom meetings! Much richer mids than I get yelling into the rear of my sm7b.
I think the MV6 sounds perfectly fine on your voice.
What specifically do you dislike about it? Too bright?

Ditto on pumpkin pie with whipped cream...or as I call it, a plate of whipped cream with a side of pumpkin pie!
That's the absolute BEST! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy a plate of whipped cream and a side of pumpkin pie! haha.

I have received that same notice on a few videos I've tried A/B testing on.
Do you think I like what you do is what's important here.
I'm not sure I understand the question.
@@bsp perfect, the un understandable question. I've finally hit the mark
and thank you for all your work.

I gotta say, this mic sounds like ass on you lol. Great episode tho! Happy holidays!

No one using ai will get financial support from me. AI is cheap and will lead to more problems than solutions in the future.

HEY HEY HEY!!!!! THAT'S NOT TRUE..,.
Actually I just checked. It's actually 100% male! LOL!
@@bsp Yeah, that was an easy call. My photography channel is like 99.9% male, and I even think I know who the few women are. lol
Your audience appreciates you🫡 got my first microphone because of your channel
Thank you kindly! Happy recording!
