I tried . I really tried to listen to Amber Heard to hear her side of the story. I lasted five minutes but within seconds I could tell she was putting on a performance. I was a victim of physical abuse and sexual abuse from a husband. I can tell you you do not taunt the abuser as heard in the recorded evidence and you sure as hell don't buy them a knife. She should be ashamed for fabricating this as people, men and women actually suffer real abuse and this makes it harder, especially for men, to come forward with their real true stories. My mother always said, "beauty is skin deep". She is not beautiful at all.

She speaks without hesitation, without breathing, without thinking. It shows that she built her life story herself and spoke it by memorization. The fact that she constantly looks at the jury indicates her dishonesty. Her goal is to take an attention, to convince the jury with her lies. She played better like an actress. As a lifelong survivor of real abuse and hardship, I know that if I told my story it would have more details other than what wine was on table, or what song was on a radio, or how dirty floor was when I suffered real abuse, this woman/monster is a disgrace to real survivors she really set back the a.c.l.u. by decades iam almost sure she will be sued by them as well an rightfully so, this is just beginning of her legal problem, a.c.l.u.akmost has an obligation to sue her if she loses in this fashion after that textbook case of lies an attempt at extortion

I had the same problem. It felt so scripted, so unauthentic, so unemotional.. Yet overdramatic. The mediocre or extra-expressive faces she does, the soft voice and the unbelievable detailed and horrific graphic story that she tells looking directly at the jury... and I can't relate to her, I can't find myself sympathizing with her. It feels like a scene from a bad movie you know? A perfect victim scenario, with zero sense. I guess not all people process things in the same way, but there are emotions that are proven to be universal to us. How can it be so difficult? How can she communicate yet feel so disingenuous to so many of us?
For someone who allegedly had many traumatic experiences from Johnny, how can you face it all, remember it all yet, still... feel so inhumane. I don't believe I've ever felt this unattached to a proclaimed victim. And it scares me that someone could do this, fabricate a serious problem in our society, and try to destroy someone else in the process - for who knows what.

I found her testimony to be disingenuous, forced and honestly kind of disturbing. She really got up there and played up all the “abused woman” stereotypes like she’s acting in a Hallmark movie. After watching her today I am confident that she is in fact lying. It’s despicable that she’s setting actual DV victims back. This is a huge slap in the face to women who have actually been through these things.

I took pictures of my cut lip and scratched ears after she did it. But what was I to do? Tell her to wait a second before she hits me so that I can grab my phone and go into record mode?... Ha.. I probably should have done that as way of deescalating.

The fact that she doesn't have a recording doesn't mean he didn't. I love Johnny and was on his side, but after listening to her today, I no longer know who to believe. Johnny is a pure soul but maybe drugs and alcohol really got him to doing this, maybe he can't remember this, and maybe she is lying maybe she doesn't think she lies maybe she is imagining we can't know what the truth is so far. I feel bad for both of them and I believe that drugs and alcohol impacted their relationship very negatively and in a very bad way because it's obvious that they really loved each other.

I am a victim of domestic violence and have a PTSD diagnosis. Her performance made me cry - she is a fake, dangerous, and a disgrace to anyone who has ever suffered abuse. We do not talk about it the way she does. We cry with tears, not dry eyes. Trauma memories do not remember the colour or cleanliness of a carpet or misted breath on a window, but forget the emotions we felt. She needs to be prosecuted for perjury.

@@barphh while that is true that everyone reacts different- psychology is based on science and then DSM-5 that is used universally has clear scales that record and determine with almost complete accuracy if someone falls under that diagnosis. Dr. Hughes really aired her dirty laundry by saying “I diagnose/label people in my office all the time without having them take the test” which I understand that to be highly illegal to do such things under the guise of your clinical expertise. Also, PTSD is shown to be one of the most commonly and easiest mental disorder to fake. I know people are gonna say, “not everyone acts the same blah blah”, but COME ON.
I’m a victim of abuse, and I know a group of women and a couple men who are victims of abuse/SA. We sometimes have group therapy just to validate each other’s experience and emotions. It’s a mix of a mess of tears, awkward jokes and looking away.
Amber has these emotional “cries” - but when questioned, goes right back into regular speaking patterns. Also, when she “cries” or explains these “traumatic experiences”, she makes a point to look around at everyone in court. So everyone can see how “sad” she is.
From my experience and experience in a group setting, no one has ever done that. A person normally looks away when explaining, or cannot maintain eye contact/focuses on something other than someone’s face. Why? Because you feel ashamed, embarrassed and hurt.

If you don't do drugs will you be with a person who does? Right of the bat she took a jab at him by saying, "I was weird out since you know it's a man double your age." Or something alone the lines. You are wrong! People do talk that way in real life when they have had this kind of physical and psychological abuse. If she wanted to make this dramatic and contrived, she could make it far more interesting. First, she would have to have an amazing ability to memorize hours of "made up" stories, the stories describing cycles, the charm, the accusations, the threats, the tears, the appology then on to the charm again. Each one escalated from where the last left off (as abusers do). With lots of interruptions, she has regurgitated it out smoothly. Secondly, when you look at Depp's face, he is displaying the anger and hate he felt the night he did and said those mean things. She has made statements that describe exactly how it feels to be with an abusive person you think you "love", who is outwardly so incredibly charming that no one will believe the evils you just saw them do or say - always asking yourself "why would they do/say such ridiculous things, to cause so much pain and suffering". The charm, thinking "now it will get better, we've worked through it and figured this out". Then it begins again: a mood/moodines, walking on egg shells, the accusing, the blaming, one moment having a wonderful time, the next moment fearing for ones life, staring at the "dirt in the carpet" or a bug on the wall until it passes. Only someone who has been there can really make this up. The psychological turmoil all of the threatening, embarrassment and physical abuse stays with the victim for a very long time. The rush a charmer gets off knowing they pulled another one over someone or got away with it again is likely what they enjoy the most.

My birth Mom one day asked me after she went with me to go with me to take my daughter back to her fathers house and so my mom asked me is he hitting you and I lied and I said no and she said don’t lie to me but I still didn’t tell her because I knew if my mom heard from me that he was hitting me she would have went to prison for life so it’s best that in some way she just kept on guessing and then after I had my son I finally left him when my son was about 6 months or so old on March 15, 2013 I remember exactly everything as if it was just yesterday!!! Abused “victims”/survivors never forget anything that happened to them when they have ever been abused whether it happened once twice or three times we do not forget anything not one itty bitty little detail!!!

Amber is projecting herself, that's why there are no tears just rambling stories. Her responses would be quite different if she had actually experienced any of these events. Psychological projection is the process of misinterpreting what is "inside" as coming from "outside". It forms the basis of empathy by the projection of personal experiences to understand someone else's subjective world. In its malignant forms, it is a defence mechanism in which the ego defends itself against disowned and highly negative parts of the self by denying their existence in themselves and attributing them to others, breeding misunderstanding and causing untold interpersonal damage. A bully may project their own feelings of vulnerability onto the target, or a person who is confused may project feelings of confusion and inadequacy onto other people. Projection incorporates blame-shifting and can manifest as shame dumping evidenced by Amber's brutal criticism of JD as a man, father and actor. Projection is often described as an early phase of introjection. In psychology, introjection is the unconscious adoption of the thoughts or personality traits of others like her parents and in particular her father. It occurs as a normal part of development, such as a child taking on parental values and attitudes. It can also be a defence mechanism in situations that arouse anxiety. Amber (the bully) is acting out her parents' highly dysfunctional relationship as though it is her own and projecting it onto her relationship with (target) JD. This is a complete nightmare for JD but the truth will prevail. Amber Heard is a very unwell woman and should be treated seriously for her illness and the consequences of her actions, regardless.

Johnny's entire demeanor changed.. and for the first time I saw him genuinely angry.. He was fuming and he looked up at her for a good 2 seconds.. The way Amber describes the relationship sounds very 'storyteller' rather than how an authentic victim/survivor would speak and as others have said she seems very clear about details despite all the alcohol and drugs and supposed trauma.

And NO!! we don't have to testify historically crying or dramatizing the abuse so you can believe us! these comments are so .... the promises the ups and downs ..and yes you will never forget the details ever!! and once you are in a process of healing or heled you dont cry.

The way she tries to involve Johnny's kids at the end is so vile and pathetic. I don't know if her lawyers suggest her to mention that or if it was her choice, but it's clearly that it was necessary to try to portray him also like a bad father. In fact he seems nervous when she talks about Lily-Rose more than anything else. She wanted to push him over the edge so she can prove that he is a violent and out of control man. Notice how she steal a glance at him every two seconds before look directly at the jury.
    Really...

Just rewatch Dr Currys Testimony and you'll see how on the money her analysis of Amber is. From the extremely flowery descriptions (when talking about falling in love) to the hypocrisy and judgemental nature (drug use, alledged abuse), the extreme exaggeration in her 'recollection' of events, over dramatizing stuff, just everything. For those who haven't seen it I can only recommend watching her testimony, now in light of ambers Testimony I think it's even more of an eye opener than before.
That being said I can obviously not know for a fact if what she testified is true but alot if not all of it just seemed very dishonest to me. I think she took little truths and mixed in either outright lies or heavily exaggerated recollections of events. Not once did she mentiion that an argument or fight may have been caused by her, somehow in all of her testimony she is just an angel while johnny is an abusive drug addict spawn of satan. Meanwhile all of the evidence plus all credible witnesses in the case paint an entirely different picture, it just doesnt make sense. Also, at this point there really is no other option than to continue the smear campaign, what other angle could she possibly take at this point.

Note the expert psychologist merely said Amber's condition was "consistent with what's reported in the literature" and she took Amber's reports at face value. It's disgusting that an expert witness would tell a jury that Amber was a victim of Johnny's violence and admit on cross that she made no determination that Johnny abused Amber. Misleading at best -- and an expert knows what's she's doing. The expert's behavior is "consistent with what's reported in the literature" as disingenuous expert testimony.
