      Tbf it wasn't only HBK's fault. Vader's stiff style meant alot of wrestlers refused to work with him in both WCW and WWF. It's more of an example of his reputation which put him over working against him. Yes HBK overreacting like he did made it more public knowledge but given that he was willing to atleast try to work a match with him is more than most guys were willing to do at the time.

    It was good. Still reeling off Terry Funk's death, I've watched a lot of his All Japan stuff lately from '80-'83. I know the numbers translate much differently in the '50s, but seeing Funk walk to the ring & people hugging him, just doing anything possible to be near Terry was so cool to see. Lunging at him, grabbing & tearing him off the apron. He'd get bouquets & bouquets of flowers, it was just madness. A complete different time & era

    As for omissions: Flair, Brisco, Bruno, Verne Gagne, Billy Robinson, Fritz Von Erich, Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon, Gary Albright, Johnny Ace, Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Bad News Allen, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko...I could go on. The biggest omissions are from women. Mildred Burke toured Japan, with her WWWA and launched joshi pro wrestling. That led to All Japan women, who produced the best wrestlers the world had ever seen, including the likes of manami Toyota, the Crush Gals (Lioness Asuka and Chigusa Nagayo), Akira Hokuto, Dump Matsumoto and Bison Kimura, Aja Kong, Jackie Sato, the Jumping Bomb Angels, and more. It would also see gaijin stars, such as Madusa Miceli/Alundra Blayze, Monster Ripper Rhonda Singh/Bertha Faye, Terry Power (Terry "Tory" Poch), Reggie Bennett. You also left off non-American foreigners, like Marc Rollerball Rocco, Mil Mascaras and Dos Caras, Villano 3, Dr Wagner Jr, Steve Wright, Tiger Jeet Singh, Rick Martel, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, Juventud Guerrera, Rey Mysterio Jr, Psicosis, Dos Caras Jr/Alberto Del Rio and more. Hogan was a massive draw in New Japan, as was Andre, putting them well ahead of "honorable mention."

    His 70,000 million viewer match can be seen on youtube as well as bouts against a really young Stan Hansen and others. FYI He was a great and hilarious heel promo, a precursor to the likes of Chris Jericho.

    • @dylanogg347
      @dylanogg347 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you remembered that right. Hogan treated the WWF Championship like a trinket. This is galling since his fifth reign came at the expense of Bret Hart and Yokozuna. And all because he wouldn't play ball at WrestleMania IX unless he got another WWF Championship Reign. And he did nothing with it in the WWF until he dropped the WWF Championship back to Yokozuna.
