Greek cuisine is absolute heaven. And it's always a dilemma in Greece what to eat. I want to eat everything. And aside from it's wonderful flavors, and it's many very healthy dishes, the colors are also vibrant and and diverse
Loved all the dishes, specially the fava beans and fetta cheese. The Mediterranean food looks so healty, so fresh, so many vegetables, spices, olive oil. And then wine and beer lol I definetely could live in an island like Santorini
I am watching this video at 1 am in Germany at a temperature of still 27°C or 80°F and enjoy my Ouzo drunken in the Greek style. 1 part of Ouzo with 4 parts of ice-cold water with lots of ice-cubes. The first Greek "guest-workers" came to Germany in the 60's of the last century. Lots of them stayed and some have opened up Greek restaurants which I still appreciate nowadays.
Love this channel (subscribed) and enjoy how much you 2 take such pleasure in your meals!!!Keep on rockin'. Also, you both have very pleasant voices and lovely manners.
So delish. Everything is so fresh there. Even though it's healthy, I gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks there. Some of the best food in the world. The baklava and gelato adds up. I can have Greek food everyday. You must visit island of Sifnos for some unique Greek gastronomy.
Sifnos is actually the island of the greatest Greek chef of all times, Nikolaos Tselementes, the guy who *invented* moussaka (among other things)! You didn't know that, did you? 😊
Everything looks so amazing! Though the vine leaves and feta cheese definitely looks like the best. I've made baked feta cheese at home (though it didn't look exactly like this one) and it is amazing! Feta cheese makes everything better!
I just put a thick slice of feta cheese on a pan covered with aluminum foil, place a slice of tomato and some herbs (oregano, basil, parsley, garlic, whatever I feel like), and pop it in the oven for about 15 minutes at 200 degrees until it's soft and gooey. I don't actually follow a recipe, I just make it with whatever I have.
well anne, like i said withe greek yogurt, in the states which is made with cow's milk, real greek yogurt is made with sheep's milk, and real feta must have 75% sheep milk and 25% goat milk otherwise its cheap imitation ,read the label before buying.
I know, but I can never afford the real stuff...it's far too expensive on my budget. Besides, I like the cow's milk just fine. Though, if I could afford it, I would totally get real feta and real greek yogurt!
guys the sweet above the yuort is called "spoon sweet", "gly(i)ko tou(U) kou(U)taliou(U)",(because usually you just take a small spoon and have a spoon of the jar with your greek/turkish bitter coffee) actually is the most tradirional technique of making a sweet out of everything. There is, tomato, orange, cherry, figs, pomegrand, cucamber, rose petals(yes!!), carrot, lemon, or whatever...it is boiled and left in tons of sugar for manyyyy days and then it is packed in glass jars and can be preserved for many years cause of sugar. Because it can be made almost from any kind fruit, vegetable or something like that and it can be preserved out of frige for years, it is so common and so part of our culture. The villages (and we have tons of villages) make them all the time to feed the families and so for most of greeks reminds us grandmams.
I really love your channel guys, my number one favorite Travel video on youtube. Always honest, inspiring, educating and open mind. Keep up the good work!
😍 lovely! I was in Santorini last year and I really enjoy the food, I am in love with the lamb gyro , ahhh!😋😋I just want to come back! Thanks for sharing your experience. We spent 30 days in Europe and gained 15 pounds 😫😩😳..... ja! The food was amazing!
A little late to comment (a week :P ) but the feta I usually do just in foil....large piece of foil folded up double or triple and fold up the sides to make a little 'dish'. Then a slab of feta (greek is always best) sliced tomatoes, sliced onions, olive oil, oregano, pepper if you want but not necessary. You can add capers if you want. I usually do it on the bbq! :)
Stamna Garden Taverna looks perfectly beautiful for an authentic Mediterranean restaurant within Santorini! The blue color of the walls and all! Is that another factor that made it your favorite restaurant there? There once was a Greek-American restaurant here in the Ozarks region of Missouri, called Papouli's, that not only looked authentic, but even similar to this one.
That is really cool to hear Brady! Yeah, the decor was a plus but honestly it was all about the food here. Just loved it. We so miss Greek food. When was the last time you had some? It has been ages for us.
Great video! Now I wanna go back to Greece. My favorite starters were zucchini croquettes and the deep fried feta.. Yeah, very heavy and unhealthy but sooooo good :-)
I make the scrambled eggs with tomato and fetta at home! It's so yummy especially when you used your own garden tomatoes. We have dolmades quite often as well but I haven't tried making them yet! Fetta is an absolute staple in our household! We are so lucky in Australia, we eat like this all the time. Did you know that Melbourne has the greatest population of Greeks outside of Athens? I'm sure someone will correct me it that's no longer the case. X
P.S. I've spelt Fetta with the double 't' rather than the Greek one 't' because our Aussie made Fetta is spelt this way. Apparently it's something to do with that whole regionally made debate and you can't call it Feta unless made in Greece. Just in case you thought I was clueless ha ha ha. Apparently both are acceptable. Can't wait for another vlog btw.
I would like to take the moment to thank you both for such amazing videos. I love and watch both of your English and Spanish channels! Just enjoy the different perspectives, wish I had found you sooner! You guys are too cute together. Me da risa cuando Audrey está filmando y trata de como que de dirigir a Samuel y el tan humilde responde siempre con gentileza. (No sé si me dejo entender.) Pero bueno, espero algun dia no muy lejano poder visitar Europa! Btw, do you guys have any travel tips or itinerary ideas for someone who wants to visit multiple cities with a child? Starting in Lisbon, then Spain, France and Italy. 1 month total. Thank you so much! Love you guys xx
Thank you very much! That is exciting to hear about your trip. We have no experience traveling with small children but I just looked up this article which may help a bit: www.momondo.com/discover/article/traveling-with-kids
You guys should have asked them to serve you the local beer, called Volcan. There are 4 different ones, Black, Blonde, Grey and White and they are all amazing, I can't even start to describe their taste...honey, citrus, bergamot, lemon, bitter orange...
I don't know if it has been said in the comments, but Santorini's fava is made from a kind of yellow split pea and not actual fava beans (broad beans in the UK).

Thanks a lot I love greece and Santorin
