Rebel Moon Part 2 Streaming Numbers REVEALED & They Are NOT What You Think!

- Now today we are talking about Rebel Moon’s official viewership numbers and some will instantly think these numbers mean it’s a failure but I’m here to explain why that actually isn’t the case. And no this isn’t me bending over backwards to try and make it seem like Rebel Moon is an amazing movie and if you didn’t like it then your opinion is wrong. I don’t even think the movie is amazing and I think there are many things they could do to improve the film. All I'm doing here is providing the factual evidence that Netflix has provided and what they deem as a success.
So as you may know Netflix releases their streaming numbers every week showing their top 10 movies around the world and the number of views they have. And so when Part 1 released, we were able to track the numbers weekly and we can do so for part 2 as well.

One thing I noticed with part 2 is it got no advertisement. Was even told by someone that liked the first film they didn't know the second one was even out
Rebel Moon was a success before part 2 even dropped. For 200 million 70 million views was the success marker. That was achieved in part 1 alone. Part 2 is all icing on the cake along with the director's cuts.
Lindsay Lohan movie did better over the weeks.
The marker for what’s considered a success in streaming has to be all just theory right now. How much does Netflix make in subscriber fees a month?

We can’t use most review sites as a metric to score or judge movies anymore especially after reports of them paying off critics and being biased
That's a copout, though. Hundreds of critics review movies. There's literally no way to pay even the majority of them. That excuse just doesn't work.

I suspect the novelization is the director's cut. It's insanely violent and has more sexual content. It's also got a lot more story for each character.

I don’t wanna sound mean (I hope I don’t) but I think your channel is the only one that has a positive pov about the movie. All the other TH-camrs I saw like the critical drinker and others rated the movie as horrible

Rebel Moon 1 & 2 are awful films. Horrendous in fact. That is in their storytelling, acting and direction. Visually they look nice but Snyder was always a visual director anyway. Anyone who is rating the films highly is a Snyder simp. People might come after you in comments calling you out for having watched the Drinker and other channels. Just ignore them. I'm not going to call you out on it because I also watch the Drinker and Nerdrotic, Mr H etc. Understand I am someone who loved Snyder's DCEU trilogy (and yes I know it had issues, I enjoyed it "warts and all"), who loved 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead. The man has let his ego go to his head. I'm sure he is a good "visual" director but he shouldn't be allowed near pen and paper. Edit: However I will say for anyone who did enjoy the films - then more for you.

I liked it but I didn't love it. It has its flaws but I've seen the film twice and found it enjoyable. Definitely no cinematic masterpiece but not every movie has to be for me to enjoy it. As for other youtubers, it's not for me to comments on their thoughts on the films. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
The thing is the viewership numbers are those people who still have Netflix like movies like Morbius when it got on Netflix had 75 million views just in its two weeks . The question that Netflix always ask is how many people subscribe to Netflix for this show or movie and that’s the part Rebel Moon failed big time cause it didn’t boost Netflix subscription numbers at all

Just remember that part 1 was released during Christmas. That accounts for the bump in viewership of around ten million views. Considering that the second week
views are at 18.8 million that is not a big drop from 21.4 million. Without the holidays it may take longer for views to add up.
Yes it was. Both films were in the top 10 list at the same time after all.
Plus, both films are under the 160 million budget, and all the numbers combined with the recent and previous views along with being on the top chart of Variety as over 745 million minute views, while Flixpatrol has shown more than one country with the highest points of it's popularity, that means "Success".
Well it depends on repeat viewings, rather than curiosity viewing. No one will subscribe or renew subscription just for Rebel Moon.
I think it's time to turn this franchise into a series
This may be the only way to save the future of rebel moon.

I hadn't considered the fact that the director's cuts numbers will probably provide some sort of boost for the original releases, the same way that Part 2 got Netflix viewers to check out Part 1.

I don’t watch Netflix like that so I had to find out part two was out by negative reviews TH-cam like angry Joe bashing the movie in two videos so thanks to them I was able to watch it ha ha
Considering parts 1 and 2 were the equivalent of one movie from a production standpoint, Netflix managed to essentially double their viewing numbers on the movie making it a massive win for the streamer. This is another thing that detractors haven't quite figured out with their big brains.
Your logic makes no sense, as there was a 68% drop in viewership between the two "halves". Guess you better start preemptively whipping out new hashtags! #sellrebelmoontotubi has a nice ring to it.

I feel like the awareness about this 2nd part being out it is slim to none. I just randomly found out about it. I assume that means Netflex allocated 0 to the advertisement and marketing budget for part two. I know when part 1 dropped I had heard about it and seen it in various resources weeks before it launched.
For for the series I liked it. I don't think its the best thing since sliced bread by any stretch of the imagination but I enjoyed it none the less. I hope they make a 3rd part which I assume will close out the series/story.
I also understand why some people may not have liked it. Its not a show for everyone thats for sure.
I enjoyed these movies for what they are, story telling is lacking but visually I was entertained and the action was beautifully done in my opinion

I’m a huge Zack Snyder fan and I have to say that I was disappointed with these films. I’m looking forward to seeing the directors cuts as my main issue with both films is the lack of character and story development. My suspicion is that Netflix is behind this but at the end of the day Zack needs to stand by his work and demand that the proper rendition of his film be released. I watched the first one twice but won’t bother watching the second film again til the directors cut is released. Another issue was the over use of slow motion. I enjoy slow motion and in particular the way Snyder does it but he over did it with this film(the second one)
You're totally right about the Transformers movie, the worst performing Transformers movies were the last 2. Bayverse will always be my favourite Transformers....
Christmas released shouldn't compared to this, as that was a holiday release and this wasn't

The engagement this movie garnered alone is a success. I enjoyed them both. I didn't expect them to be anything other than entertaining NETFLIX movies. Not blockbuster elite cinema. And I feel that's how this movie is being judged because it's a Snyder film. Disappointment is only the feeling of failed expectations and I can't understand what people were expecting. I can't take anyone seriously who says the movie was dog crap and I don't see how anyone thinks this is elite cinema. It was enjoyable and I couldn't care who directed it.

Buddy, I'm genuinely not trying to be rude here but from the time you started your video you've been incorrect. You said this first week was only 3 days compared to the first film's full 7 days. That is wrong. That 23 plus million for the Part 1 was the first 3 days as well. You're trying to make it out like Part 2 did the same numbers in 4 less days and that is absolutely not true. It's also not true that these numbers are good in any way. It actually lost millions of hours in its second FULL WEEK. That means that it went down some 40% with four more days of watch time. That is objectively horrible. There is seriously no way to spin this being good for Snyder or Netflix.
How am I wrong?? The stats are from Netflix themselves.

I'll say it again: Any director who has to preemptively dangle the promise of a director's cut, isn't that good to begin with. Hopefully this fad dies with Rebel Moon.

Despite Rebel Moon Part 1 & 2 performance here's my honest take: Most of movies gets around 150-250M budget AVG. Meanwhile Snyder said this meant to be a single movie but Netflix gave him 2 options bla bla, then they gave Snyder 160M for making both parts having this amounts of viewership not to mention those 2 cuts coming out this August. It's like a movie performing x4 What an incredible move they did on this movie.
I’m sorry, but as a professional marketer, the views mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING unless there was an ad tier on Netflix that allowed you to watch it. I don’t know, if Ad views allowed seeing the movie then it changes a BIT, but not much. When they talk about successful movies they don’t look at the views, they look at revenue. If they showed an increase in subs that month and can attribute that to the movie, then that’s great, but they don’t do they? I watched the first, thought it was vapid trash that stole much and improved none. I watched the second to see if he can continue proving he’s the most “Up His Own Ass” director, and he did. God bless him. If views mattered, then you need to look at high points like nearly 3,000,000,000 views of the first Avatar. That’s a 3 BILLION. So I don’t think they know what they are saying with view numbers, but unless they can say X amount of people watched it in X amount of time, essentially giving us an X share (inapplicable due to a lack of time slot) the advertisers (The people looking to reach the public’s eyes) won’t give a a shit. The only metric would be subs after that.
