Hi Tom- I have a freewheel slipping problem on my 1960 93F- It's happening recently, I go to take off at a stop light and the engine revs and the car doesn't move. I disengage the freewheeling and I am able to move the car. I had this problem when I first got the car on the road about 6 years ago. I changed the transmission oil, using Red LIne gear oil and all was well until recently. Maybe changing the oil again might do it? Is sorting out the freeewheel something I can do or are special tools needed? I have the factory shop manual but I think this job might be best left to the pros. The trouble is, there are no old Saab mechanics here in Canada. I can rebuild the transmission in a Citroen Traction Avant so I'm not totally withour knowledge. I would appreciate any advice you can give me- best regards-
Yes try oil again. I have several that do this and unless they get real bad I just live with it. And yes not too hard to do but getting freewheel hub in without the tool is a bugger
@@donneysaab Thanks tom, I figure that how bad can the freewheel unit be since the car only has 34, 750 miles on it. I will do the oil again and you're right I think it's something I can live with. Thanks again.
Possibly Saab parts heaven
