People goin' nuts about Karen's performance (rightly so, to be sure), but Mizusaki's voice adds a whole new layer of smoothness to Dyes's already excellent work. It makes such a lovely combination, and it really feels like all three carry the song equally.
Lily Mizusaki is a really underrated artist. I have been following her for around two years and I'm still surprised her music videos are in the 10k range.

I like the message of the song (at least the message I interpret): Dolling up and making effort to get acceptance of other people? Painful and burdensome. Dolling up and making effort to express yourself and to do what you love? Awesome and liberating. (And chances are, that makes people like you anyway!) That is an important distinction. The cherry-topping there is the main character seeing her earlier (and possibly unhealthy) crush and going, "nah, I don't need to play roles for you anymore".
Actually, the more I watch this, the less I'm thinking that the guy is the lead girl's crush. Where the heck I even got that idea? She isn't even looking in his direction. Maybe it's that he was framed to be somehow important and my brain skipped a couple of steps. Silly me! So I'm re-interpretating this guy: he's just a guy. No one special, just a random guy. But the point is, the lead girl STILL wants to somehow appeal to him, after those two women laugh at her on his earshot. The lead girl has no connection to the guy, but she STILL thinks she should look better, or she gives a laughable impression. And then, in the end when the girl embraces her passions and eventually becomes famous, the random guy actually wants to make contact to her. However, the girl NOW realizes that she has no reason to impress that random guy and just turns away - just like she should have done early on.
As somebody who only recently started to work on themselves, especially aesthetically, I can definitely say that looking good for yourself feels AMAZING. I used to think people who dressed up did it to impress other people, and while there's obviously the part of me that wants to look good for other people, I recently started to find out what it means to look good for yourself, and showing my friends that too. It's honestly incredible the difference it makes, I feel so much confidence in myself when I think I look good, and am ready to take the world by storm. While I never dressed up for other people like ever, I've seen people talk about how annoying following this or that will be, but dressing for yourself is the best. I remember about 4 years ago, I was talking to my cousin, and asked her why she did makeup, since it barely made a difference and nobody else would see it (teenage boy me was a bit bad at noticing stuff like that), and she said it was because she liked it. I never got what that meant until recently, but honestly, looking good for yourself just feels amazing.
I'm uh... probably gonna add here that he didn't really do anything from what it looks like here. He just looked uncomfortable when his co-workers were laughing at the girl. He wasn't laughing with them, just probably made uncomfortable by the whole thing.
The animation is much smoother and natural yet still have that wonky cartoons touch is such an upgrade from her animations in the old days. DD still hone her skills after time and she does what she preach..... High respect for her

When I wanted to listen to it, my headphones suddenly stopped working for no reason. Was it some kind of sign? I always knew I would love this album, because Dyes-san's music totally fits my style, but this song exceeded my expectations. And the rap and vocals? I love the combination of english and japanese and the voices matches each other too. Now about the story. I have to go through the lyrics more in the future, but from what I caught it is about a girl (I wish I knew her name), who can't find her own style so she's trying diferrent styles she saw somewhere even though it doesn't fit her. But then she saw these two ladies on tv and realizes that she wants to be like them. She's still just a kid so it's pretty normal for her to imitate others, right? So she tries to imitate their style and creates a song with a vision of becoming as famous as those two. And guess what, it really happened. One day she's finally able to walk with them side by side. I don't know if I'm right about this, but I have two options about what the song is trying to tell us. That even if it seems impossible in the beginning, we should tirelessly follow our dreams and ambitions and who knows, maybe one day it'll become reality. Or that it is okay to imitate someone else's style to eventually change it to something new which will be completely ours. Even if I'm completely wrong, it doesn't change the fact, that the song is awesome. The Dyes-san's music, Karen-san's and Lili-san's rap and vocals, the animation and character design. In a combination, it's a masterpiece. Thank you for your hard work! I'm looking forward to listen to other songs from this album! I tried my best to express my thoughts with my not-so-perfect english, so excuse the eventual grammatical errors. I hope it makes some sence.
