The Tau vs Ork conflict was described in the Ork codex for 5th edition, where I believe Kaptin' Badruk (or some warboss that hired him), after being trounced once, got together every flashgit he could find and engaged the Tau in an extended gunfight.
The Tau desperately picking off Orks through the smallest of loopholes while the sky above them and the earthworks below them are absolutely saturated in wildly inaccurate gunfire. Lmfao.
Some of the ork lootas models with their shoulder-mounted gun rigs actually have tau fusion blaster guns as some of the rigs. So it's not just a piece of story background! it's actually on the table top with the model itself

Arch, please do not discount your earlier work. Even your old stuff is superior to most. Others either don't have your humor, or cover the lore so listen-ably and succinctly. Most don't even cover the subjects that you do, or in such comprehensibly long form....your coverage of Armageddon, the Death Corps, and Vraks are top notch, hands down. I regularly re-watch your videos and recommend them to others. You may not feel it has the polish you desire, but to me anyway, it is a storybook I go back to often, and rely on. Please keep up the fantastic job! Do not despair for your older self, for he was enjoyably funny and cool too.

Tbh, I always assumed that the whole „logistics“ stuff as well as most manufacturing is handled by the Grots. They are said to be smarter( even able to count above their numbers of digits) and due to their small size perfect for maintenance duty. Also that gives them some sort of „job security“ since the Orks won’t use (too much) of em as cannonfodder when they run supplies and maintain and/or build new weapons for the Boyz to fight with
There really needs to be some animations accompanying this. I can’t help but snicker imagining imperial citizens “panicking like it’s nobody’s business”, or an ork sitting in front of a box with a paper with the words “waughpedia” scribbled on it stapled on, or a poor gargant hanging on for dear life as its “metal coffin” hurtles down toward the surface as the Boss shrugs as the words “maybe next time” are narrated. 🤣
might be an idea to make a video about the different gestalt consciousness in 40k. There are a lot of them. Orks have it, The mechanics have it, the Tyranids ofcource and also humanity might have it.
The bum rush against a more skilled opponent really does work. Ever since that day my friends go to tactic in any game is bum rush.
This series actually makes me curious if Arch has read the book The Siege of Castellax, where orks invade an iron warriors held world. Would be interesting to see his take on that particular conflict seeing as the Orks actually used some neat (to me at least) tactics during the fighting. Plus I'd love to see Arch absolutely tear apart some of the idiotic mistakes and decisions made by the iron warriors. (Seriously I'm not even a strategy guy and I could tell you that the iron warriors in Castellax were morons to the last for the most part). (Edited for spelling)
'An ork in a pirate hat sits on a ship in high orbit. He has come up with a genius new plan for getting troops to a planet surface. He calls it 'DA PlAnK!''
Wait, Orks repair stuff? I thought they just built stuff, and it more often than not blew up, killing the builder, the operator, or possibly both. Didn't think repairs really factored into the equation.
Ork "repairs" are actually kinda of terrifying because they don't just fix things, they modify it as well. Trukk get blown up? More armor. Didn't keep up with the other trucks? More powerful engine. Not killy enough? More Dakka. Whatever the fault was gets corrected and improved upon. Late campaign battlewagons tend to be more heavily armed and armored than should actually be possible.
A good illustration of an Ork invasion can be found in "Brutal Kunnin'" Very fun novel that. Orks vs Mechanicus. The The most logical versus the race that actively violates the concept of logic.
Makes me think of whatshisname the Necron Lord, who's one of the most intelligent, cunning, ruthless, and experienced commanders in the known galaxy this side of anything Tzeentch-y...but never, ever wins against orks because it can't comprehend their stupidity.

It's been a while since Arch did a similar video (when he talked about system invasions and analyzed one particular event) and I'm happy to hear more on the subject. Back to the video I go.
I'm not sure if it was planned, but the times you checked yourself for historical context was great! Still love the connections made to real world tactics.
Oh awesome! Glad to see a return to these Now I'm curious if there's enough examples in the lore for an Ork planetary defense video. I mean I've heard of Octarius, but that's it.
I'm about to watch the video and am very interested what you're going to talk about. And not because I believe Orcs have some very interesting and sophisticated invasion plan, or their tactics are spectacular to behold. Actual, it's exactly the opposite. It's Orcs, I am expecting them to crash all their ships into the planet and then the survivors kill anything in sight, bigger the better. Let's see if I'm right or wrong, and what is there to talk 40 minutes about.
That bit about cats made me remember something. Pause this video and type in that bar up there "Cats on Ketamine". It is used on them by vets for operations and stuff but it is hilarious to see them try and walk around.

I love that they called it that and hate that only now do I know it exists. Bless these fungal miscreants
I read it in the 5th Edition Ork Codex. ;)
I missed these, thanks for the oodles of content my good man!
Ironically Ork Gargants are actually the most realistic giant robots in the whole setting in that they're wider at the bottom and the least likely to fall over.
I love that little segment where you tried to resist the historical tangent.
Hearing how Arch is trying to hide/keep on leash his inner history nerd is pretty adorable XD
It's like hearing 7 year old who WILL not take his favourite sweet before dinner, so he can have it after in full bliss.
"Warships" is a generous way of describing the Roks...
You know you want to do it Arch, and you know we want to see it. Make IRL lore videos! Real war history focusing on the crazy and interesting parts of human conflict from any and all time periods in your enthralling style would be fantastic.
The going off topic section reminds me strongly of scenes in Stargate Atlantis where Rodney is talking about 'leadership.'
Military strategy probably comes in the same lane for orcs as honest journalists for us. They do exist and there can be a hint of it now and then. Buuuut most of the time it's just free fire of biggest pile of dirt you can find in a kinda general direction xD
Great vid👌
Just like in real life the honest and good ones gets outshined by the others who don't bring up estimated casualties and things like that
@@darkbozo11 You're so beyond the target that you actually think it has ANYTHING to do with the individual choices :') WTF do you think? Every channel is an independent entity? Lmfao
man i’m always excited for these videos it’s honestly the most interesting topic when it comes to 40k
Tell Raid to send you a longer music loop for their ads. It's nice that you are enjoying the game so much.
I wouldn't mind a retelling of the story of Armageddon. And yes; you have covered orc engineering (but retelling of that is fine too)
Tbh, I always assumed that the whole „logistics“ stuff as well as most manufacturing is handled by the Grots.
Who else votes Yes on Arch doing the Vraks treatment on the Ork invasion of Armageddon I & II?
That would be amazing
might be an idea to make a video about the different gestalt consciousness in 40k.
There are a lot of them. Orks have it, The mechanics have it, the Tyranids ofcource and also humanity might have it.
It sounds like we need some historical videos on military tactics.
I actually like the little historical factoids and tangents you go on.
Awww... Arch had a Lindybeige moment. That was adorable.
To quote Red Dwarf: smooth as an Egyptian whiskey.
Don’t despair Arch your Armageddon series is still good I’ve watched it about 4 times
The bum rush against a more skilled opponent really does work.
One of my friends had gotten pretty good in guilty gear x2 back in the days in order to try and beat me at it(he tried and failed till he got bored of trying), anyways at one point we had a newbie with us and my friend decided to challenge the newbie and to his horror(and my amusement) the newbie just mashed buttons while rushing him and the newbie won multible times.
Ever since that day my friends go to tactic in any game is bum rush.
It is truly sad how excited I get When anybody references my beloved Starcraft!
I would love to see an indepth breakdown of Deep Operations tactics especially in comparison to German Blitzkrieg or American Shock and Awe.
Shock and Awe is live in Baghdad rn why do you need spoonfeeding
Orks are truly one of the most interesting races in 40k. They’re brutish and simple, yet a complexity arises from this that constantly fascinates.
Another very good video Arch. I love your logistics applied to lore. You are an absolute legend
Im so hyped for this. I very much enjoy your content in the last months ❤
Ork and strategy in the same sentence, such a top tier oximoron that I had to see what is about.
'An ork in a pirate hat sits on a ship in high orbit. He has come up with a genius new plan for getting troops to a planet surface. He calls it 'DA PlAnK!''
My favorite non-Vraks Arch series returns, and an Ork video to boot! Is it my birthday?
The war for Rynn’s World novel highlights one of the more tactical Ork Waagghhs that I am aware of
Ork invasion strategy: a party buss with more gun and blindly driving into the nearest building
Thanks Arch for starting my 40k addiction
Orks are practically just a big green Dorothy, all they gotta do is click thei hills and say “I think I can i think I can” 😂
I hope we have some more years of arch lore videos ahead of us!
Wait, Orks repair stuff? I thought they just built stuff, and it more often than not blew up, killing the builder, the operator, or possibly both. Didn't think repairs really factored into the equation.
Depends on the Ork I guess. Like, a Mek would be more likely to repair his gear rather than replacing it.
A good illustration of an Ork invasion can be found in "Brutal Kunnin'"
Very fun novel that.
Do it! Do it, you glorious bastard!
I had just re-listened to your unfinished war of the beast playlist and i want to see that completed, no matter what.
As demonstrated by the ultra marines blue colour gives you protection against all kinds of damage.
Blue iz a lucky kolour.
Didn't work well for vdv
12:45 describes my "tactics" so well. Thanks alot. :D
War for Armageddon is a great series you made. I still listen every so often.
ERE WE GO, WAAAAAAAGH!
Thanks for the lore, Arch!
Archs lore video are the highlight of my weekend. I enjoyed his big epic series, but the Varied topic lore videos are my favorite!
Step one find rock step two find planet step three crash into planet. If feeling fancy every ork has their pinky up while drinking ork tea.
Pure Arch History Channel when tbh. I'd love to hear you do a series on WWI
Arch! Please I think I am not the only one who feels this way. We need a 40k ork logistics video and engineering vid!!!!!!!!!!!!
When Arch talks about Orks. you know its gonna be a good time, no matter the specific topic!
Thanks for video. Glad you are continuing this series.
No Plan survives First Contact with the Waaaagh !!!
So weird how much I love these
Oh awesome! Glad to see a return to these
Now I'm curious if there's enough examples in the lore for an Ork planetary defense video. I mean I've heard of Octarius, but that's it.
I don't know why but Arch's impression of a grot just had me in stitches
Arch physical restraining himself from going on a history tangent is the best thing ever 🙃
Arch's analogies will never get old.
Bro your story telling skills are over the top
Love it! Best Warhammer lore channel there is❤
Thanks!
Boy it’s been a long zoggin’ time since we had a good ole video about the green bois.
"Good waaagh sir!"
"And a jolly good waaagh to you too!"
The Britz Clan.
The warboss Brogaz Jahnsun
Thanks for giving me something to look forward to ever week man
i honestly wouldnt mind story time with arch as he goes off on wild tangents lol
For a moment there arch I thought you were going to say "It's your boy!! Raid shadow legends" dank style lol
Ork invasion plan
Step 1: DAKKA!
Step 2: KRUMP 'EM WIT YA CHOPPA!
Step 3: WAAAAAAAAAGH!
Step 4: Repeat.
Step 1: Lan on the planet (survival optional)
Step 2: WAAAAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Step 3: Discover that you landed on the wrong one
Step 4; WAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Step 5: Use the new rocket to land on the right one
Step 6: Do steps 2 and 4 until you own the planet
Hey! you shouldn't hate your old content. even If armagedon is not up to your content today, it is still very fun to listen to
Congratz on the 250k Arch..its longue overdue and overdeserved :)
Good to see things coming back to normal.
Also arch I think the original war for Armageddon series cause really good paint still holds up pretty well it’s how I got into your channel and I still listen to that playlist on occasion
That was enjoyable.
Especially with the tangents.
Great stuff and why Orks are so fun as they are all strong but as a attacking force can be weak and broken easily or like during the Great Crusade a threat to a Galaxy conquering army. That leaves so much room for cool battles and scenarios.
Comment for the algoritm gods. To be honest, I really enjoy your random historical insertions.
Orks are always so wholesome to watch in their natural habitat. :)
Thank you for mentioning Captain Sevatar Arch. The Prince of Crows just like yourself, is rarely wrong.
