People get all excited about the new class B vans. I still love the “Old American style” vans much better for RV purposes. I had a 1973 Chevrolet which I converted into an RV, had a bed frame built from my design, bought an ice box and turned it upright to make an ice box refrigerator;my wife made curtains for the windows and we used our other camping equipment and went camping. I had too many mechanical issues with the Chevrolet including the first one at 1500 miles so sold it. Those older vans were larger, had more power but did not have the raised roof, but I cooked outside or we stopped and bought something that we wanted that could not be cooked on our grill. I also had a 1976 Dodge Maxi-van which I loved better than the 1973 Chevrolet, paid to have it converted by a professional company and had it for 11 years with no problems and we loved it. I wish that Ford and Dodge would bring those type of vans back with the raised roof and I bet they would sell a lot more of them than the new skinny ones that will blow over in a stiff breeze.

Spare tire mounted underneath coach , better have the knowledge and strength to handle that tire mount in case of a flat tire . Prefer the rear mount spare on the door in the back like on the Road Trek vans .
Yeah it’s best to pay for roadside assistance. That way you don’t even have to touch it.

Much prefer bathroom across the entire back, and bed be either a happy Jack drop down, or a Murphy. What are the solar options? Endless shower water Recyling? Incinerator toliet?

this is a great great option for starters remember you can add bluetooth speakers specially the Sony ones change that TV for a Bigger Samsung 4k instead of windows 4k cameras as windows to preserve natural heat energy camping chairs and other things to this van why camping? because low weight less gas!

@@TruckandRV Many thanks Luke, and it's fantastic to hear from the USA!! Yes, Scotland (the Highlands) are beautiful, however it rains alot. August / September are the best months for drier weather. Edinburgh too is a beautiful city. Glasgow is very down-to-Earth, less cosmopolitan and far less expensive than Edinburgh. I so wish these RV's were available here. I think I would live in one permanently. - People can permanently live in RV's in Scotland and the remainder of the UK, and in any county here without any prohibitions. I like this size of a unit or slightly bigger. Something with stealth capability but with a separate work/office space from the sleeping space. Does this exist or am I chasing unicorns?
I'm not aware of one that has office and sleeping space in this size.

Seems like these Class B RV's are about the same price as a lot of Class C's (even sometimes more than a Class C?) So why would someone buy a Class B over a roomier Class C?
For a lot of reasons -- many folks are looking to be as small as possible to be able to park anywhere and stay anywhere. You'll get a lot more "stealth" in a Class B and will often get away with a lot more that you might not in a Class C or Class A. Some folks may also have parking restrictions at their home that does not allow RVs, but they can get away with a class B. Some folk are solo travelers, or perhaps just 2 people, and maybe a pet. To be completely honest, there's a different RV that is right for everyone and a Class C may be a better value for you, especially if you have a family or plan to travel with more than 1 or 2 people often. Every RV will have it's pros and cons but Class Bs and small RVs in general offer a lot of unique capabilities that you don't get with larger rigs, and it's a major reason why the RV market as a whole is trending smaller (even residential with tiny homes and the minimalism/essentialism movement). There's not a lot of class Bs available as opposed to a lot of used Class Cs and Class As on the market, so as with any market supply and demand can really affect pricing. Thanks for watching!
