First time hearing the Ted Kennedy story. I was 5 years old when JFK was shot. I do remember watching it on our B&W TV and my parents were devastated.

I was in the 1st grade when JFK was shot, Good Shepherd grammar school in upper Manhattan sunny Friday afternoon, Nuns crying in the hallway, we went home early on that day.

It was very unlikely JFK would have won reelection in 64. He had dropped in the polls in 63.
