Wow, this caption resonated with me in a way that is rare. How beautiful is it that a sound/ an obscure Instrument many would pass right over can connect like minded people across oceans. More than 20 years ago I saw Ben Harper in concert I had no idea what I was hearing but the sound planted a seed in me that grown into a love/downright obsession with sound…. Talking to you, arguably the best current Weissenborn practitioner, discussing an artist I have never met yet feel Akin and connected to like a brother from my tiny island in the Pacific. Growing up I was big into philosophy and I can’t help but think about the human condition we all struggle with in our day-to-day lives…I hope everyone find their “thing” That speaks to their soul- how obscure and funny is it that this little six string instrument seems to say the things my soul wants to say and what power it has to unite.
I love your style because you don't overplay the lapsteel. You let your voice and the rest of the music breathe, and the lapsteel compliments the song, not having the lapsteel be the total centerpiece of the song. Absolutely lovely.
@@ClayColey-b1v The correct spelling is "Weissenborn", the man who created this style of guitar. Richard Wilson makes a lap steel that also has a hollow neck, similar to a Weissenborn, blurring the distinction.
Unless the great Hermann Weissenborn burned his name into the guitar, it is not a Weissenborn. The genre of instrument is called acoustic lap slide guitar.
Anybody have access to this full show? I know I used to watch/listen to it on repeat he did another song I believe it was called Lead Me On that was unbelievable.
Hey, do you know if there was another song/video from this same set? I seem to remember listening to one of his songs from this show on repeat years ago, but I don't think it was this song. Thanks!
Can’t quite figure why this man isn’t getting his due. Great passion + talent.

Agreed, @jockaarmour, the caption is every bit as beautiful as the song

Perfection.
So happy to see this again! There were a few other videos from this set that I have been looking for and can't find anywhere!
I definitely have the James Blake cover, hit me up if you feel so inclined.

Thanks for sharing this. Beautiful song. Anyone know where I can find “Lead me On” from this set?
Thank you for uploading this wonderful piece of music and atmosphere. Why is the original video gone?
The original video was by former management. You're welcome!

This one was one of three, including a James Blake cover. I believe the artist will re-release them at some point.
@@tony_francis_aotearoa Cool, thanks for letting me know.
