Honestly, I am so proud of Dark Choco for managing to leave the Cookies of Darkness. The only problem was Poison Mushroom's reaction, especially considering how they genuinely saw him as a friend. That definitely hurt my soul.

Pure vanilla story: a story about someone who, with the help of some others was able to save many cookies and halt dark enchantress temporary

glad to have watched this. one of the best episodes so far. Dark Cacao's anger, Affogato's ambition/dream, Dark Choco's realization, it's just so so good!!

Dark cacao cookie and why it’s good:
It has double meanings (ex: why dark cacao sent Carmel away, it seemed like an act of distrust but really an act of incredible trust as dark cacao trusted Carmel would help the people.)
It has a want and need (He wants to protect the kingdom, he needs fix his past to do so.)
It has a simple, easier to understand yet reliable plot. (The cookies and the kingdom’s are literally genius ideas.)
You can see each character has a special tone and style to them, making them easy to recognize even without voice lines. (Like for ex: pepper cookie and her iconic *I wanna steal* tone. She’s definitely the comic relief lol)

Dark Cacao may not have been the perfect king nor father but he tried and still succeded at being a good king and fixed his relationship with his son
Affogato just wanted to go somewhere where he'll be accepted and loved even if it's just a short amount of time, that's hella sad too ngl, damn, I don't even think he has his own family either.
Caramel Arrow is trying her best to be a good watcher even doubting her skills when she wasn't allowed back in the kingdom.

Yea, even Affogato, he may have tried to take over the kingdom but he just wanted some acception at least somewhere since he probably always got discarded everywhere else, he deserves a hug as well which I would be willing to give him.

Ayo i was rewatching this chapter for some info i wanted to recheck, and i noticed something pretty interesting
Dark Cacao has two lines (before his battle against Dark Choco) that says: "If I had known how you would turn out, I would never have let you go after what you did to your homeland!" - "Instead, the father's heart in me showed you the mercy of banishment. And now I am to pay for my softheartedness once more!"
If you see, he says that he banished Dark Choco because he didn't had the heart to do something else. So, you might think he didn't have the heart to put him in jail or something, but i think that if banishing Dark Choco was something so light it was what Dark Cacao actually chose to do so, then i think his destiny would be much worse than just jail
And yes, when i say worse, I'm meaning executing Dark Choco, it makes sense for Dark Cacao to not have the courage to kill him, it's literally his own son. So when he said "If I had known how you would turn out, I would never have let you go after what you did to your homeland!", could he be meaning that, in a way, he wished he killed Dark Choco all of those years back, just so he wouldn't join Dark Enchantress's forces? He says that he regrets calling Dark Choco his son, and that he doesn't have anything for a traitor (again, referring to Dark Choco), so it could be something that was intentional

This arc has been one of my absolute favorites yet an im definitely a huge fan of both dark choco an his father!! Dark choco was my reason to get the game in the first place and I’m happy that this is finally the beginning to him hopefully having a better life🥺!, also the angst is so real in here an i adore dark cacaos character so so much! Story tellers for this game are absolutely amazing!! This arc made me excited to play cookie run again!

I think he needs to take some time to heal on his own. It’s always good to have a fresh start and time to yourself. He has a long journey of self discovery and healing to do.
All the ancient related chapters have seemed to end on a more cliffhangery/abrupt note so maybe those storylines will eventually come back?
FINALLY I thought this would be a bitter end to one of my favorite story series (totally not biased since I like Dark Choco 101%)

Ok for real, what confused me the most is Dark Cacao character. Devsister just really have a poor writing in building up his character.
First of all he sent Caramel Arrow cookie outside when Affogato accuse her , Dark Cacao just sent her outside without any explanation and resources support and expect her to aid the villagers. How can she able to help the villagers when she need to make her own weapon from wood due to the lack of resources.It is just a really bad commander without clear order and not doing his soldier justice,why can’t he just explain to her and sent her outside for the mission.
I know he need to build the wall to protect the kingdom from the monster of the licorice sea,but his people in the Kingdom is already starving and there are villages abandoned due to the harsh environment, his people asking for help but is being blocked by Affogato.I thought at least in the end of the story there will be some explanation on how he try to solve the problem,but no, he is still building the wall and seems like have no idea on how to solve the starving problem.It is like he knows nothing and just keep building the wall.
Last but not the least is his relationship with Dark Choco. I want to see Dark choco redemption too but everything is just too sudden and forced. They have quarrel and fight for years even before the story begins,Dark choco and Dark Cacao has determination to KILL each other. After a boss fight suddenly Dark Cacao realize his mistake on not giving enough love to Dark Choco and Dark Choco just accept because of one apology, without any struggling. The problem is not about the changes of their attitude, it is the process on how and why they change their thought and believes. Before the fight they really want to kill each other, after the fight they immediately realize their mistake and have redemption. If all of this is logical why can’t we can just let Dark enchantress suddenly turn back to white lily after we defeat her as a fight can solve any problem.
Although we have ovenbreak as a reference to the characters setting, kingdom is still a game with its own storyline. We can use ovenbreak as a support to understand more about the character but kingdom should have a own storyline that can stand alone, telling a story that is logical and make sense. I have been waiting for the story of Dark Cacao Kingdom Arc since the end of Hollyberry Kingdom Arc, but the outcome is just so disappointing.🥲
