Our goal is to reach 10 k subscribers ASAP as this might give us the opportunity to cover Eurovision in Basel 2025! - So if you want to support our dream, we would appreciate it a lot❤🙏🏻 Like & Sub if you Enjoy our content! I hope you enjoy this video, and would love to pick your brain: 1) What do you think of this song? 2) Do you think Malta should send Miriana Conte - "Kant" to Basel?
The hype around Kant is not being generated by the Maltese. The Maltese were originally most hyped about the group Kantera (another contender to react to) perhaps because it's the most authentic Maltese act. This is being hyped all over Tiktok already for obvious reasons - the deliberate word play going on. And I'm not sure the EBU will be happy with it (the didn't allow Latvia to use 🐱 a few years back but they allowed Spain to use a Spanish slur last year). And yes "kant" means singing in Maltese but we know its phonetic similarity to the C-bomb is why it's being used here. Yes I agree with you, Heaven Sent is a work of art. I can imagine myself listening to it even if it weren't a Eurovision song. Kant is throwaway pop which will have the gays bopping but with no long shelf life.
This is the one that would actually be a hit in the Eurovison. I'm beginning to think they got lucky with Tomorrow and Mikela. Like they didn't vote for the song they voted for the singer. Go Mirana! I believe in you!
@@TrulyPointless yes for sure. But it's still considered quite crass in the UK, not exactly Queen's English. Canadians consider it very offensive on the other hand.
What do you meant "i believe" lol it's clearly and deliberately meant that way, just watch the hand gesture as she says it and you have your confirmation.
I think in Eurovision the first impression matters a lot, and especially the memorability factor. The more divisive a song is, the more will it be remembered during the Eurovision night. Heaven Sent might be more radio friendly, sure, but this will definitely get people talking. No winner material right here, but as far as an Eurovision song goes, this ticks all the right boxes. The only risk is the EBU forcing them to change the lyrics (maybe making them change the whole chorus to maltese ?), which would inevitably be their downfall. But if Malta chooses Heaven Sent, it will get the Denmark 2017 treatment, mark my words.
Thanks for sharing your opinion! I thought about the same, that EBU probably would ask for a lyric change unfortunetely :/ But I think Heaven Sent will smash it if given the chance🙌🏼
I do feel this one is overhyped. I mean, would it get the same hype if she said 'I'm serving tofu'? Musically I just don't feel challenged or interested enough in this one; however I'm happy for all the fans who genuinely enjoy this.
This song is being hyped for one reason - the double entendre on the word. While it uses the Maltese word for singing Kant, it actually has the English meaning. Otherwise the song is quite a mess and yes much over-hyped. Remove the expression "serving Kant" and the hype would go away. Btw the hype is not coming from the Maltese.
Ok but will the Maltese be the ones voting for Malta's song on the Eurovision night ? That's the most important thing people should remember when picking their song. While Kant will definitely be hated by the jury, it will (if not censored) most probably be loved by the public. I'm pretty sure all the other songs won't be in neither the public's nor the jury's top 10. This is the reality of the situation.

I see where you Are coming from but I don’t think it will be a hit in Eurovision sadly :/ I think it will be hypes up them flop when the time comes..
Aaah, Thanks for explaining! Appreciate it🙏🏼 And I totally agree in the whole KANT vs Heaven Sent
The C word is way more normalized in the Anglo-European world

Kant = Singing in Maltese :) But yeah... I believe it's a play with words done on purpose
It needs to be the right balance between spicy and tongue in cheek and it's top 5
"Serving Singing" just doesn't have the same ring to it.....
Thanks for explaining!
Serving songs? @@Rash23215

I feel this is more for the gay bars to get the crowd hyped than for Eurovision
thank you for sharing your thoughts. True, true..

@Unknown-dr4bk But first it has to win the contest in Malta and honestly even if it were not for the song, Miriana is not a darling with the Maltese.
