Damien Echols you are a gift from the gods and i am spending the morning crying and rejoicing your new found freedom.... you were always free and will be forever. Sending you and graves lots of love.
Your hands are so cold, my love Beneath these leafless winter trees Your lips are ocean blue, my love, And have ceased to call my name It's oh so cold in here And I can't seem to see It's so very cold out here So please don't fall asleep The stars wont give us heat, my love, And the sun is far away The night is black as pitch, my love With no sign of the coming day It's oh so cold in here And I can't seem to see It's so very cold out here So please don't fall asleep Your hair is white with frost, my love, And your skin is alabaster I'll sit here in the cleansing, my love Until the angels come to find us It's oh so cold in here And I can't seem to see It's so very cold out here So please don't fall asleep Please don't fall asleep
It's a shame what happened to him. I remembered I was in a supermarket, and two women looked at me and said, "I hope my son doesn't turn out like HIM." Later, while leaving, I saw them struggling to load their car. I offered to help them, and the looks on their faces were priceless. Just because you dress in a dark fashion, doesn't mean you're an evil person.
I saw The Misfits in 1983 with Glenn and then a couple of times with Michale. If I was tasked with picking someone to attempt to fill Danzig's shoes it would have definitely been Grave's. But his solo stuff is absolutely fantastic as well.
i was lucky enough to talk to graves about it one time. poetry is by echols and he is also the backing vocals that you hear. echols recorded it in prsion and sent it to graves. graves and echols still keep in touch. my prayers go out to the wm3 and their family's
im not sure if this exact version of the song has them on it but the finished one does. and it really does its awesome to see that Damien actually didnt just write some of the songs but also sang a few as well. it was really highly doubted that he would actualy sing, just talk but it really wasnt the case. Michale really made a masterpiece with this album
They let him record some things while he was incarcerated which Graves incorporated in the recording. Echols wrote this song, Graves just put it together and put Echols into it on the studio version.
he does sing on this. the backup vocals for this song is actually Echols himself. Graves sent him a tape recorder in jail and he recorded them there and sent them back to Graves.
I love this song, it totally goes to show how talented michale graves is, and damian echoes, the song has to ways of it being played, live michale plays it in c, the album is b. :)
Damien Echols was on Death Row during this recording. He did not perform on the album. The album art was created by Echols. The lyrics were written by Echols and Graves put it to music.... August 19th, 2011 Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley were released from prison.
@BlackDahliaNix sorry i didn't see the date on the comment lol.....but I totally agree they basically has to admit they did something they did do just to have freedom, but i'm glad they are out .....2 bad the real kiier is still out there
this was written by young man who is on death row michale is trying to get him a new trail because the usa a knows the west memphis three did not kill those kids what a sad world were three peolpe are in prison for nothing
by this point its pretty obvious he didnt i think hes just not gona be led out cause it would be a huge scandal how they were wrong and had him locked up for so many years
yeah it sucks they lost so much of their lives though. Hopefully with people like johnny depp and michale graves they will get the support they need and have good lives after paying for something they didn't do.
And you know nothing about the case my dear. The investigation was a complete mess, they barely had any conection with it, the police was sloppy and the first judge influenced the jury to convict them. The point is not that we are sure they didnt do it, but that the law failed on them and on the kids.
@BlackDahliaNix I agree they just wanted to blame them poor kids because of the way they dressed and the music they were into,,,,Terry Hobbs will get his in the end
Such a beautiful song. And for the Damien Echols haters that think he's guilty? sorry....but look towards Terry Hobbs instead of an awkward goth with no motive or physical evidence against him.
I loved this song since I was little, brings back a lot of memories
Michael Graves was the best singer in The Misfits.
There, I said it.
Absolutely!!!
4 years later and I still agree 😊
Damien Echols you are a gift from the gods and i am spending the morning crying and rejoicing your new found freedom.... you were always free and will be forever. Sending you and graves lots of love.
I DIG GRAVES
Your hands are so cold, my love
Beneath these leafless winter trees
Your lips are ocean blue, my love,
And have ceased to call my name
It's oh so cold in here
And I can't seem to see
It's so very cold out here
So please don't fall asleep
The stars wont give us heat, my love,
And the sun is far away
The night is black as pitch, my love
With no sign of the coming day
It's oh so cold in here
And I can't seem to see
It's so very cold out here
So please don't fall asleep
Your hair is white with frost, my love,
And your skin is alabaster
I'll sit here in the cleansing, my love
Until the angels come to find us
It's oh so cold in here
And I can't seem to see
It's so very cold out here
So please don't fall asleep
Please don't fall asleep

The heart is what matters. Fuck those people, the dark can sometimes be light in disguise. Dont forget that 😁

@frididjurhuus i never said he wrote the lyrics, i think that is one of Damien Echol's poems but he used the words and made the song his own

When I hear this song, I imagine a man holding a woman who has overdosed, in a cold shower, in an effort to keep her alive.
She lives.
Double like
Michale's new album Vagabond is out now. Go download it!
he does sing on this. the backup vocals for this song is actually Echols himself. Graves sent him a tape recorder in jail and he recorded them there and sent them back to Graves.

BULLSHIT ive been trying meet him for years hes my idol
Graves is one of the most empathic poets I have ever had the pleasure to hear. One day humans will see evil is beautiful. 666

@BlackDahliaNix Echols has been released
but they are inoccent till the law proves that they did it, not the other way aroud
this was written by young man who is on death row michale is trying to get him a new trail because the usa a knows the west memphis three did not kill those kids what a sad world were three peolpe are in prison for nothing

Guys! they might be free'd
i know echols is in prison, but does he sing on this? or is it just his poetry?
Just his lyrics
@CryptPunk99 wooo trippy listenig to this song then reading a comment likee that lol>!
That is true that the police failed, but it shouldn't be seen as proof they didn't do it.
everyone acts so sure they didn't do it like they were there or something.
Shock fucking horror, it was probably more likely christians
And even the families know they didn't do it.....now
Damien is out.
Garves?

Such a beautiful song. And for the Damien Echols haters that think he's guilty? sorry....but look towards Terry Hobbs instead of an awkward goth with no motive or physical evidence against him.
Holy shit we don't need DNA to convict you of this shit. It's absolutely fucking terrible.
