    //FAQs??
    -How many squares do I need for a baby blanket?
    This can vary, it really can be however big or small you like, but i generally do 4x4 or 5x5.
    This blog post might be useful: bit.ly/1UIobie
    -How many chains shall I do for a *single/double/etc' blanket?
    Again, this can vary. I would suggest that you do your chain and lay it down agains the bed you are wanting it for. It should be the same width. You should then ad a few more to make it a little wider.

    -How much yarn do I need?
    Unfortunately, I will be able to answer individuals questions about how much yarn you would used do to multiple factors affecting it. Such as, your tension, the size of hook and the yarn being used.

    I have all my squares made and am ready to join them all together, it would help massively to have seen this in the video as I haven’t got a clue where to start. I’ve been crocheting for less than a month. I’m terrible at reading patterns so video tutorials are a lot easier for me to make things. I’m going to purchase your pattern anyway as I’m hoping it will give me some insight as to which square goes first and then which ones are next and so on. A bit daunting but I’m hoping it will be easy to understand 😮‍💨🙏🏻

    Not sure how to get this erratum to the right place, but if you buy the printable pattern, the instructions are a tiny bit wrong. Pattern says "Block 11 ... JAYGO two sides to block 7 and 8" It should say "JAYGO two sides to block 7 and 9". It is clear in the diagram underneath, thank goodness. Really helpful tutorial! This was my first time doing the straps like that. When connecting the lose end of the strap to the top of the bag on the other side, I followed what you did but with the big inside out so that the braided/raised side was in the inside of the bag. I think it looks a lot more seamless from the outside, both sides look more similar! Thought I would share for any one else who might want to try it that way too

      I’m so sorry. My husband had a massive stroke in Feb of 2020 and things have been very difficult for him. He loves video games and had so many problems playing. But recently he upped the difficulty on his favorite game from easy to normal. He’s not where he was before the stroke, but he improves daily. It will get better as long as you don’t give up. The doctor told us a lot of things my husband would “never” do again, and he’s surpassing it over and over again.

      How terribly frustrating for you!!! I'll bet that crochet has to be wonderful therapy for your brain and motor skills, however. Be patient with yourself! The brain is complicated and mysterious, and it can take longer than any of us would like to heal it when things go wrong, but I definitely believe you'll get there!

    The bag is really pretty! I had a question however, you only attached the handle to the out most row of single (UK double) stitches. Is that strong enough? The bag looks big enough to put a lot of stuff in it which would put a lot of stress on the handle.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I'm glad you like it 😊 Provided you attach your yarn for the handle securely then it should be strong enough. The pattern calls for cotton yarn as this is nice and sturdy.

      Hi there, I'm not Bella, but I do have an answer for you! Yes, you absolutely can substitute out your fibers especially for a bag or something where gauge and sizing aren't important. Just be aware that you might not get the same weight of bag or drape of fabric in your final product, but it will still definitely function as a bag! Bust that stash, gurl! No reason to go out and buy if you already have, in my opinion~

All I have made before is granny square blankets.

    Hi, I am a bit confused. I followed you video for the basic granny square and you ch3 for the corners and ch1 for the space between but for this bag when you come to do the joining you only do ch2 for the corner and no chain between. Which is it?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can substitute your yarn, but I would recommend doing a gauge swatch unless you don't mind your bag working up a bit smaller/larger than the sample in the pattern 😊 You should find that a three round granny square in your yarn measures 9.5cm, and you can adjust your hook size until you reach this. You may find that you don't need to double up your yarn in this case.

  • @michonwright665
    @michonwright665 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’ve reviewed the written pattern and video several times. Do all 13 get round 4? When instructions say ‘work 3 sides as round 5, jaygo to block ##- do I only do round 5 to 3 sides or as per the instructions?

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When using the Join As You Go method, the final round of the square is worked as you join it. So in the example you give, you should work three sides of the square as normal (as those don't have to be joined to anything) and then join your final side as you crochet it 😊

      The pattern uses two strands of the same colour yarn held together; this ensures the bag is nice and sturdy 😊 You could also hold two different colours together if you wanted to create a fun, marled effect.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will work out smaller as I use a 5mm hook, but you may find it isn't too much of a difference. The best thing to do would be to make a gauge swatch - for this pattern a five round granny square should measure 14.5cm 😊

    Hello I have question. I am planning on using a different granny square method ( it actually a blanket stitch but I want to make a bag with it ) but I’m not sure how big the square should be, like how much do I need to chain and how many rows :) thank you 😊

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each square for the tote bag should measure around 14.5cm when all five rounds are completed, so you will need to crochet your squares in your chosen stitch and keep measuring them to match the gauge 😊

    Stupid question maybe, but on the granny square pattern there is a chain one between the trebles and chain three in the corners. On this pattern there isn't a chain 1 and only 2 chains in the corner. Will this affect the end product? Sorry I'm a newbie.

    • @bellacococrochet
      @bellacococrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without the chain spaces you'll find that the granny squares are a little more structured, which is perfect for a tote bag 😊 Quite a lot of things like this in crochet come down to personal preference too, so if you prefer the look of the granny squares without the chain 1s etc, you may find you want to keep making them like this for other projects too.
