- Sackboy is another of the launch titles for PS5, but it is quite noticeable that it was a game designed for PS4. Some elements and effects that they have added in PS5 stand out (grass and leaves that react to our step, among others), but everything else is the same except for the resolution. The PS4 version runs at 900p, PS4 Pro at 1080p and PS5 at 1800p. All at 60FPS, however the game does have some blurring effect that makes the game look less sharp than it should, especially on PS5.

Ps4 = stable frame rate but a slight drop in graphics

Honestly the game looks great on PS4. I am glad they targeted performance and did as much as possibly to make it look as good as it can. Of course ps5 has to look better, it’s the next gen, but at least no compromise whatsoever with any version and I love it!
Watch the digital foundry video for the game and you’ll see a huge difference from PS4 and PS5. Mainly shadows, lighting, color and details.

It can, but the game is made by UE4 engine (same engine as fortnite) that's why grass in fortnite swapped with just green land. Because it will be difficult to hit that 60 target
Gimmick to get people to "attempt" to purchase a PS5, game looks great on my Pro/4K TV...especially a game like this. No reason for comparisons. And yeah if they can run a game like UC4 perfectly on PS4/and PS4 Pro, grass shouldn't be a problem on this!! lol

Did Tsushima or Cyberpunk 2077 run at 60fps on Pro? Yet they do on PS5.
You people are not hearing, if it was 30fps there would be no reason for it to look different on Pro. But it's not, it's running at nearly perfect 60fps on both base PS4 and Pro and all it took was some resolution dips on PS4 and some blades of grass on Pro. I'd say that's a reasonable compromise.

It is true that the game isn't looking that demanding and it's still 1800p 60fps since COD cold war plays at Dynamic 4k 60fps with Ray tracing.
The reason why it's so demanding is that there is a lot going on in the background such as destruction, water, grass physics, they might not look great but this engine makes it harder for the hardware.
COD also runs on an internal engine that’s optimized for 60FPS gameplay on console, whereas SackBoy just runs on UE4. I thought about this with Pro Skater 1 and 2 (why it can’t push 4K 60 on One X and Pro) and Crash 4 (only 1080p on One X and Pro) because both of those games also run on UE4.

Can the PS4 Pro handle higher than 1920x1080? I have the setting to 2160p (can't be sure what the game does on my side though).

El uno lo disfruté demasiado en ps3 con amistades mi hermana, pero el 3 me dejó mucho desear por la interfaz y diseño de niveles. Esto por otro lado me ha encantado, Sumo Digital demuestra que tiene harto talento y con este lo han demostrado.

Es que LB3 no fue hecho por los creadores originales.
LBP3 fue desarrollado por Sumo digital, los mismos que han hecho basuras de juegos como el Sonic Team Racing y Crackdown 3
Tambien están encargados de el juego que se enseña en el video, por esa razón mi hype es bastante bajo.

Infancia? que me haces sentir viejo cuando salió el LBP original ya iba a la universidad 😋 juegazo en su momento, año 2008 fue uno de los primeros en mostrar el potencial gráfico de PS3 junto con MGS IV.
El GTA IV salió por la misma época pero estaba muy mal optimizado e incluso era sub HD reescalado a 720p.

Both. It will install the PS4 version of the game from the disc, and then you can download the PS5 version from the store for free.

My bet would be on PS Plus. Plus already has a free PS5 game on day one with Bugsnax and is getting Destruction All Stars right after. Most likely Godfail will be the April-June offering since that game is all but dead, but I can easily see Sackboy being the July-Aug free PS5 title. PS plus is also 25% off for the 12 month period as a Black Friday offer right now in case you are interested.

@@Pxblo_ Efectivamente es como si tuvieras 2 versiones del mismo juego. Aunque sony ha cerrado el grifo pronto, la muy cabrona. Hoy mismo me acaba de llegar el Sackboy de Ps4.
Four things:
1: Sumo made Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, which is the ONLY Sonic game to have a Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. (Freedom Planet isn’t a Sonic game)
2: Sumo was rushed out to create LBP3, think of this like 06, it’s a broken mess, but it had to be finished by Sonic’s 15th anniversary, so you can’t really do anything but take shortcuts.
3: Even though Mario Kart came out before CTR, I still prefer CTR, so I have a feeling that this could be better than 3D World, and when considering the fact that this game actually has a unique aesthetic, unlike 3D World, I have a feeling that this will come out on top.
4: Since when did graphics become so important? It won’t matter if the resolution isn’t that good on the PS5, because gameplay is more important, and the DualSense feels amazing, trust me.
Can you do a Godfall graphics & FPS comparison please? Nobody have done that one yet.

1800p on PS5 what??!? This game doesn't even look demanding
Just because it is cartoon themed, doesn't mean it's not CPU and GPU demanding. Also the game is 60fps so reaching 3200×1800 at 60fps for a console is amazing.

It's there, a little bit higher than Sackboy's shadow. At first, I also thought the shadow is missing. But then I realised, They use Sackboy's shadow as a helping feature, so players can see where they landing after a jump. So basically everything has a shadow, but it will never match with Sackboy's shadow.

This happens because they used shadow-maps that are baked in the game. This means that those shadows are almost like a texture, already generated and placed in the position the designers wanted, it is not dynamic. If you could remove the rope, for example, the shadow would remain. Dynamic shadows are more expensive because they are created and rendered at real-time.
What we are seeing is the misalignment of baked shadow-maps and real-time shadows (sackboy's shadow), showing that the lighting that hits the character and the scenery should be generating shadows at a different position than what the shadow-map is placed.
Sure this could also be a design choice to help gameplay while making performance cuts.
(This is a very poor description of what is happening, but I think it helps to understand)

removing the grass from the ps4 was so headscratching and stupid, the ps4 is very capable of doing all of that no problem, freaking Ghost of Tsushima shows a huge ass field with tall grass and each leaf had its own shadow and you can kick them all over the place, then a game like this that looks slightly better then LBP3 on the ps4 shows this downgrade.

You're kidding, right? PS4 and Pro are a blurry mess! My guess is: intentional. They need to make this look worse on older systems, since this is not a demanding game AT ALL. God of War ran on 2160p checkerboard on Pro and this is 1080p. Riiiight...

@@DinaSupremacy You're right, but still I think that, had this game gone for checkerboard 1800p, 1620p, even 1440p on Pro, it could still run unlocked and get close to 60fps. I mean look at this. Small stages, simples textures, etc. This seems like a lazy job to me, Crash and Spyro collections-like laziness.
@@ultrafsm from what I saw, most everything was the same. The grass reacted to Sackboy the same way in all, and I mean, I watched the video in 1080p. All looked equally blurry to me. The only major difference, to my eyes, was the lighting. The lighting just looks a lot more fantastical in the PS5 version, whereas it's just ugly on the PS4 and Pro versions comparatively.

PS4 utiliza una forma de reconstrucción temporal que puede aumentar el número de píxeles hasta 1920 x 1080 cuando se procesa por debajo de esa resolución.

I am very happy that the PS5 exclusives ended up becoming cross-gen, I really want the PS5 but I won't have one so soon, until then I will at least be able to continue playing the new games on the PS4 and when I have a PS5 I can migrate to it.

Because 2k on PS5 added an almost new engine for the rendering on the hair & faces. Not to mention the PS5 version has RTX

@@fullandstarving the ps4 slim can only go up to 1080p. I have a slim, the graphics aren’t bad at all, but if you want the full experience, get a pro. It will take advantage of your tv. The slim however can use 4K HDR. So basically, Slim if you want a cheap but effective console, or pro if you want a more expensive but much more powerful console.

The price still high like around $1500 by scalper in market place rightnow. May be the price and the console itself will stable around mid 2021 or late 2021, which is too long for me to wait.

Tendrá que ver por el entorno que esta más lleno de vida, no me refiero a los enemigos sino a los elementos del escenario, seguramente sea por eso, de todas formas si no te dicen a cuanta resolución va no nos enteramos en muchas ocasiones, el juego se va a disfrutar igual ya vaya a 1080p que a 1800p que a 2140p, tampoco soy desarrollador para saber si es por eso o no

Si pero yo creo que en COD lo mueve a una calidad gráfica media baja y este juego lo ha de mover en Ultra
es superio al 2K y inferior al 4K es algo que podria decirse que es una resolucion 3K.

I honestly can't see a difference between PS4 Pro and PS5, Which is pretty annoying, seems I am expected to spend £10 more for the game on PS5!!? Thanks for the comparison

And the ps4 pro can play the games on hdr and 4K
My suggestion is that you wait a little bit and get the ps5 you can run all the ps4 disks on them so you are gonna have a next gen console with all the previous gen games you havent tried out if you havent ever bought the ps4 till now wait a little bit and buy the ps5.
