I've never been in a haunted pub -- but a haunted house, oh yes. It's a very old place [maybe 16th century?] on Crown Street in Moreton-in-Marsh, the Cotswolds. A small, narrow townhouse where we stayed after an international flight, all of us jet-lagged. In the night I checked on my teenaged girls in the next bedroom, up half a short flight of stairs. A heavy-set man in grey period clothes, baggy trousers and with wild hair was lying flat-out on my older child, who was strugging to get her breath, but still asleep. My younger daughter was awake and staring at the man in horror. When I headed toward the bed to grab him, he seemed to melt before my eyes and my elder daughter sat up gasping, grasping at her throat, saying she felt suffocated. Her sister yelled out, "Mum! What was that?" The next day we insisted on moving to a better accomodation, one without molesting spirits.
I love these videos. Unlike a lot of TH-camrs, who just concentrate on the spooky aspects of the stories, you remember they were real people with feelings and treat them with respect. It's very touching. I love the postcards too, tiny, brief windows into the lives of people long gone xxx
In the late 1990's, I helped refit the Marks and Spencer store on Queen Street, Cardiff. So as not to affect business, all alterations had to be carried out at night. As part of the same job, the old Littlewoods store just a few doors down was being completely refurbished to become a Marks And Spencer ladies shop. Consequently most of our construction supplies were kept in the basement of the semi gutted Littlewoods. Me and many of my colleagues hated going down into the basement. Everyone including myself felt a horrible negative atmosphere and an uncomfortable feeling of being watched. One clear and still night a group of us were on the ground floor gathering materials, when doors started banging open and shut on the floor above us. With such force that we could clearly hear them downstairs. We knew no one else was in the building and no windows were open. Beside which there was little to no wind blowing that night. This went on for a little while and we soon quickly finished and got out of there. I was glad when that job finished. The shop later became a branch of Next. And I often wonder if the shopfitters on that job experienced anything.
Wowsers! I know M and S on Queen street and Littlewoods used to have an entrance around the back where you could buy sandwiches. That’s so creepy! I can well imagine that. Littlewoods is gone now, I think, and so much of Cardiff changed in the last 15 or so years with John Lewis etc. My gran used to work in Woolworths, I worked as a Saturday girl in Debenhams and also Dillons the book shop. 👻🙋♀️
You may not sound Welsh but your pronunciation of the Welsh towns and villages were spot on.👏👏. I'm very proud of you my patriotic Welsh story teller 🤗. I'm from Pontlottyn a small village between Merthyr and Tredegar. As for the video outstanding as usual each episode is getting better and better and I can't wait for the next video🥇👏. A massive thank you my Welsh beauty for keeping us loyal viewers enthralled your videos must be very hard work and for that we thank you 👏🥂. We all know your going through a tough time at the moment but look after yourself sweetheart and God bless. All the love in world to you and your family Bill XXX.❤️❤️👏👏💯🫨🫣👻😲🏴🇬🇧XX👍🏴
Oh thank you so much! You are very kind! I appreciate that there are regional differences with welsh so a person from south Wales might pronounce a location differently to North Wales. I was hoping that you’d enjoy this video as I was working on it when you mentioned being from South East Wales. I do have some stories from your area for future videos for sure 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Nicola, l enjoyed your latest video immensely very entertaining. Thank you for having me in your thoughts during the making of the video very kind of you XX👍. I'm really looking forward to the next episode. If you can try not to dig up any stories from my home village of Pontlottyn I can't sleep at night as it is since watching your videos my electric bill has doubled my bedroom lamp is never off🫣😱🫨😉❤️I now leave my bedroom window open all night ready for a quick exit 👻🤬🏃. Long may you reign my Welsh beauty and thank you take care Bill XXX 👍🥇👏❤️👻🏴🇬🇧
Nicole, I know it's a tough time for you at the moment without your beloved cat but l just wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year take care love and God bless Bill. XXX❤️🎄👻🏴
Fred Dibnah, steeple jack. VERY interesting character, I've seen several documentaries on him. I sugest watching them, if you lie history.Great vid, as per usual!
Thank you so much. Yes I must admit I didn’t think Fred Dibnah would ever make an appearance in my video but apparently that’s what the ghost looked like! 👻🙋♀️
I grew up 3 miles from Powis Castle. At primary school in the 1980s a girl from my class told us all a ghost story about Powis Castle, her aunty worked at the castle and locked all the rooms at night and nearly every day when they opened a certain room a chair had been moved across it.
Thank you Alfred. I do miss her and I got her ashes back recently. But time does help and I am starting to get a bit more used to it but I do get sad sometimes 👻🐱🙋♀️❤️
My darling Grampa was born in Wales and used to talk about the Mumbles. I hadn't thought of that in many years. Thank you for reminding me, and for a very enjoyable video.
Wonderful! I love this. In welsh, Mumbles is spelt Mwmbwls and I am so glad the video gave you some valuable memories. I feel so honoured that the video reminded you of a loved one for sure ❤
Fideo arddechog! It was nice to see a video dedicated just to ghosts from Wales! If you ever do another, I might suggest Maesmawr Hall and Gregynog Hall in Mid-Wales… my own grandmother has had experiences at Gregynog and my sister at Maesmawr! Both are lovely properties and very spooky haha
Diolch am wylio'r fideo a diolch am eich awgrymiadau. Byddaf yn bendant yn edrych ar y lleoedd hynny! Thank you again and I will look into those locations for sure. Maybe you can let me know about your sister and gran on an email if you’d like but no pressure 👻🙋♀️
Greetings from Victoria, BC, Canada. I have stayed at the Empress Hotel and it is haunted. Many places in Victoria have ghost stories. The building where I have my hair done is haunted. It was built in the late 1800's. My stylist has seen the ghost. He is dressed in a lawyer type suit from the 1800's. The area behind the building was where people sentenced to death by hanging met their end. When I first started to go there, I felt uncomfortable in the entrance hall. When I mentioned that to my stylist she said that is where the ghost spends a lot of his time. Your videos and stories are very interesting to see and hear. Thanks 🙂
When I was a little girl, back in the sixties, my best friends parents managed The Lansdowne Hotel in Calne Wiltshire, it was haunted by a dwarf who was killed by a jealous husband, he was part of a visiting circus lodging at the hotel which has a large square at the back with stables and servants quarters, my friend and I when we were very small and largely unsupervised [it was the sixties] used to creep along the corridors at night, one night we saw someone hiding under a table in the guests lounge, it was very scary and we ran back to bed, no idea if it was the ghost or some weirdo, but I remember a very scary face on whatever it was! Its been modernised since then of course.
@@ghostcasebook1266 You're very welcome! And, we think so! I had not been a convinced believer of ghosts, and still have my doubts, but that was the closest to making me a believer. My motto is "Never say never!" 🙂
As an American we can’t fathom 500 yr old houses. If a house was built in the 1800’s it’s “ Omg- over 100? Call the Historical Society! Get a plaque on that puppy!”
Really enjoyed this video. Amazing how some people can smell certain aromas where these apparitions appear like flowers and pipe smoke. Must be pretty scary to feel a ghostly touch on your arm or even a ghost to get into bed beside you 😮...wow...lol...thanks for your work on beautiful Wales my ancestral homeland. Loved the postcards! Look forward to more when ready, take care 🏴.
Thank you ever so much Celeste! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. Do you know where your family are from in Wales? I’ll try and find some stories from the area if you know 👻🙋♀️🐱
I have visited both Powis Castle and Conwy Castle, Conwy being my favourite. A magical place. I wished the walls could talk. I could get more of a sense of history from its bare bones and walls than from any other. Unfortunately, or fortunately, no spirits made their presence felt. Thank you for another wonderful post. Can't wait for the next one. ❤️❤️❤️👻👻🇦🇺🦘 Wales is indeed beautiful.
Thank you so much Annette! I love that you have visited the castles. Wales is full of castles and they are so imposing! I am so glad you enjoyed the video for sure and lots more to come 👻🙋♀️
Yes I agree. I don’t know if you’ve seen the Brighton video where dreadful things happened on the pier there; Mumbles pier doesn’t have such a sad past at all but this story really did stand out to me. Thank you so much 👻🙋♀️
I know and it’s an old story that’s survived all these years. I did have trouble finding an image of a man in a gold suit as David Bowie and Liberace kept coming up ha ha!
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪 Nicola, wow what a fantastic video ❤ well done and thank you as ever for your outstanding work 👏. Every good wish and continued success 😊
Hi Nicola, awesome live ghost stories video. I enjoyed it. How are you doing? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin he's big and happy. Are you ready for Christmas? I'm ready for Christmas. We have snow in Ontario, Canada. Do you have snow where you are? All your ghost stories videos are enjoyable and wonderful. Have a great weekend. See you next video 😊
Hi Michelle and Benjamin! No snow here and I am never ready for Christmas! Ever! I think you sound more organised than me. Last year I put up Christmas lights and it was such an effort I left them up. They are still up now ha ha! Does that count as being ready for Christmas? Will the snow stay with you now until the spring or will it that out? No snow here and on the South coast where I am it’s pretty rare whereas the mountains in Wales will often get some! 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 hi. No the snow will melt. In southern Ontario where I live. There's hardly any bad weather. Have a great weekend 😀 see you next video
Thank you Nicola for another lovely haunted episode! Wales has such spendour to it. I went to school there for a year; Bodelwyddan Castle,Abergele, near Llandudno. I never got a chance to explore Wales. I later saw Bodelwyddan on a Ghost Hunters International episode! I have read some amazing stories of the Welsh princes. I don’t like the stories about women caring for babies; they never go well. It’s so very sad and horrible. I like the way you present the stories. 🥰🙏🙋♀️🕊🐾🐾🐾
Oh wow! Thank you for sharing. Yes the castle at Bodelyddan is interesting. The history with the castles can be brutal but that’s what ancient lands are about I suppose! I agree about the baby farming. I covered another one in my very early Crime and punishment episode with Amelia Dyer who was far more prolific than Rhoda Willis. She was hanged at Newgate prison. I am so glad you enjoyed the video for sure 👻🙋♀️
Oops I slipped over in the snow! Message to self don't text in the snow! I'm back in St Peter Germany it's snowing a lot! Thanks for the kind reply and hope I can see many more stories from you soon. Love from snowy St Peter 👻💋👻
Another great video Nicola 😊 It kept my attention all the way through. I can't wait for the next one ( again 🤗) Yes I would stay at the Lindor Pub 🍻. Perfect narration and background images/ scenery. Brilliant work 👏 big thumbs up 👍, Steph from South Australia xo☺️
Hi Steph and thank you ever so much! I am so pleased that you enjoyed the stories. I have welsh relatives in Canberra! I love Australia for sure 👻🙏🙋♀️
Great and fascinating content as always, Nicola. In earlier videos I thought I had detected a Welsh accent, but only on certain words. As soon as you pronounced the Welsh place names the accent was clear as a bell!
Thank you so much Jason. Yes you can hear it in videos where I say ‘theatre’ and also ‘years’ so it is detectable. And often if I meet a person from Wales, they can detect it quite quickly but you are right! 👻🙋♀️
Enjoyed your stories immensely. I have two ancestors allegedly from Swansea, but have not confirmed this yet. I'm very glad when I learn more Welsh history.
Thank you so much. Swansea and Cardiff are what I would call friendly rivals! Swansea suffered hugely in the Second World War and the city centre was largely rebuilt but it has some very interesting history and locations. We used to go to Swansea leisure centre as kids because it had the best slides and a wave machine which was radical back in the day! 👻🙋♀️
Excellent as always - your research is superb and you have such a lovely accent (reminds me of where I am bird and bred, Gloucester) you must have been away from Wales for quite a while judging by you no Welsh sounding burr. Keep ‘em coming, they are lovely historical documents 👍🏻🌟❤️
One of my family lines lived in southern Wales for many years, although no actual Welsh blood. One day I hope to be able to visit the area. My grandfather was born in Shropshire and his family lived on the eastern border of Wales for centuries. Much Welsh DNA from that line for my mother and myself! I would love to hear of any ghostly tales from that area. Wonderful video - I enjoyed it very much! The pictures are a wonderful complement to the stories you tell. I found the ending really lovely with you reading the postcard (story), and of course the interesting ghost story at the end. Thanks so much for your amazing efforts in making this fine video!
You are very welcome Jennifer and thank you so much for your kind words. I’d like to cover some stories from the Welsh and English borders so maybe I can cover some interesting cases there. I am so pleased you liked the video and the post cards. Yes the Llindir Inn is a bit creepy! 👻🙋♀️
Thankyou it s been lovely to watch , different places, very creepy the woman at the pub , getting into bed with people, but loved it , love the ghost stories , can’t wait for the next one
Thank you Sue! Glad you enjoyed it. I struggled to find a man in gold as I kept getting pictures of Liberace and David Bowie which were not quite right, I felt! 👻🙋♀️
Aww Nicola, what a beautiful, beautiful video. Loved every minute of it; your going from strength to strength. The stories are so interesting and thought provoking. I agree with you regarding poor Mary, I like to think she is continuing her day out too, bless her. Would I stay in that haunted pub; hell yes🤪. Luved your postcards, brilliant. Thanx for all your hard work; this is why your video’s are so good. Please know that you are really appreciated. Take care young lady. Neil 👍👻♥️☕️
Oh my gosh really? I am so grateful for your kind words Neil. This means so much to me. I can’t tell you how much your comment means to me. Recently I was thinking ‘should I change things?’ ‘should I change the format?’ but I think I’ll stay with things as they are. I love the postcards too. Glad you liked the stories and thank you ever so much once again my friend 👻🙋♀️🐱❤️
@@ghostcasebook1266 No, no; please don’t change the format. Glad to help in any way I can Nicola; you are a superb content creator and praise where praise is due. Always a pleasure young lady.
Hi! Another excelent job. I love the UK and watching your videos brings a bit of it to my home. I've been to Wales twice and I think it's a gorgeous and fascinating country. I sincerely hope I can visit again someday.
It is strange to me when buildings are taken from one country to another. We (U.S.) also have a church that was once in London. It was bombed by the Luftwaffe during WW2 and then during the 60s it was disassembled and rebuilt in Missouri. It's called Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. The University that the church is now a part of also has links to Churchill. It's fairly close to me but sadly I haven't been lucky enough to visit it. I did get to sleep on the British icon, the Queen Mary. I spent hours walking the ship and getting to know the layout as much as possible, I even went to a few locations that are closed to the public. It's a creepy ship and every location feels like you are not alone. Our first night I was just starting to fall asleep when something grabbed my left leg and pulled it, I actually felt like I was being pulled out of bed. Our cabin had just enough light in it so I could see. There was no one there but me and my wife. There is a bathroom just off of what's called Piccadilly on the ship. My wife went to use it when all of the sinks turned on at once. The restroom used to be a reading and writing room before the ship was turned into a hotel. I've been to many haunted locations, but none of them beat the Gray Ghost. Once again thanks for another amazing video and I'm really enjoying the post cards at the end.
I am completely fascinated by your experience on the Queen Mary. Thank you ever so much for sharing! Yes, the idea of buildings being sent to the USA is interesting. I know the singer Tom Jones who is from the South Wales Valleys has a red phone box next to his swimming pool in Beverly Hills. I believe it was a phone box due to be scrapped but it was the phone his dad rang his mum on when she went into labour or something like that. The Queen Mary is absolutely fascinating for sure! 👍
My wife is Welsh. We met in Brisbane, Australia. She lived in Redcliffe North of Brisbane. When I first moved into her home we had separate rooms, and still do. Often in the night a presence would run up and down the middle of the bed. I was not brave enough to look despite my desire to. We have moved to the country and sadly my running friend has visited only occasionally. It may be but I miss them.
Thank you Nicola, saved this to watch for my lazy Sunday morning, and so much enjoyed it. I think you could make very interesting history docs, but I do like having the ghostie bits included!
Oh I can’t stand all this Black Friday stuff. Email inbox complete full and it brings out the commercialism that Christmas sadly has. I refuse to participate in the Black Friday circus and the cyber Monday or whatever this nonsense is! 👻
Thank you so much for the excellent video Nicola ❤️. You always do such a good job. I never knew you grew up in Wales m'dear! I must have missed that in your earlier video. Are you Welsh blood too or was it like your parents were just immigrants to Wales? And can you speak Welsh and read & write in Welsh? My best buddy from when i was growing up's mom is Welsh and she was always one of my favorite women in my life, such a sweetheart she was. I've always found the Welsh interesting and wanted to visit. I love listening to Welsh language too, it has a lovely sound to it.
Hi Alex and thank you. Both my parents were born in Wales but my dad’s side have Irish and Forest of Dean blood and my mum’s side is from Wales and Somerset. I grew up in Cardiff and went to school where we were taught to speak and write in welsh until I was about 15. But I don’t come from a fluent welsh speaking family. If you visit North Wales, it’s very common to hear people speaking welsh as their first language. In South Wales, not so much generally. But the welsh language in North Wales and South language differs a bit. I’m glad you enjoyed the video for sure 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Wow that's so interesting Nicola. It's great to have fluency in a second language. I grew up with Spanish & English. Well, gotta get back to my game. My Ohio State Buckeyes are playing our rival the Michigan Wolverines in the most-watched football game all year, say a prayer for us, Nicola! Go bucks!
Beautifully told. Haven’t had the pleasure of visiting Wales, a wonderful country by the look of it. Yes I would love to stay at the Inn for an evening or two😂😂 Thanks also for sharing the postcards at the end, I wondered too if AW may have been a casualty of the Great War 😢 Perfect Sunday companion…. Obviously joined by the obligatory cake and a brew, just off to see a piece of elastic into the back of all my trousers due to excessive cakery 😂😂😂
So glad you enjoyed the video! I agree, whenever I see post cards from the early 1900s I always think how the world would change so drastically and in such a devastating way so imminently. It was a very different time back then, I suppose. If you so go to Wales, you will have to try Welsh cakes! They are the best. There are a stout little cake with sultanas in and they are cooked on an iron bake stone. My gran used to make the most amazing welsh cakes, she never had a recipe and I used to help her make them. Her Bakstone was made by her dad (I think) in the ironworks near the village. My husband buys them in Asda in Cardiff and whilst they are not as good as homemade one they are still excellent! The welsh word for cake is ‘Teisen’ like Tay or tie and then sun or San depending on your region. 👻🙋♀️
Hi, i just want to say that i really enjoy hearing your ghost stories about your country. It's so fascinating! So rich in history! Keep up the good work!! From the other side of the pond 🇨🇦
Your videos are potted histories and informative. TA. Looking forward to the episodes of Cardiff and the Manor House. Maybe that the tale of the moving of London Bridge is an Urban Legend, fun though. And I would love to know the contents of the Box pointed out by the Man in Gold. And No Way would I (try to) sleep in Llindir Inn. Old Scardey Cat. TTFN 👏👍
Glad you like them! Thank you for taking the time to comment. I wonder what was in the box too! Yes, Cardiff and Llancaiach Fawr manor are for the future episodes for sure and I love that you wouldn’t stay in the Llindir Inn. I’m in two minds! 😊
Hi Nicola, thank you from Cardiff for another video. I have an experience myself of Llancaiach Fawr which I hope you might be able to shed some light on. The house itself had a lovely atmosphere, but there is a sort of entrance way museum (it had a cat whicb told the houses story in a funny voice). Both times I was there I had a horrible sensation of a deep cut half way up my neck, it faded in the house itself but it was very unpleasant in the grounds. I tried researching it since but other than one paranormal website referring to a 'grisly murder in the grounds'. I've never unravelled this.
I will certainly look into this for you. I will be there next year I hope and I’d like to try and uncover as much as I can. Thank you for your kind comment and Diolch yn fawr!
Our family discovered our Welsh relatives at the dawn of social media. We are consumed with learning about all our British cousins. Thank you so much❤🇺🇲
@@ghostcasebook1266 Back then, our branch of the Athays lived in Somerset. They had a grand white house, and 1000 acres, and were famed for their apple cider. Now all the Athays are in Wales.Bettws, Benidorm,Weston, Cornwall, everywhere. And we are all closely related. I love them☺️ I wish I could meet them all one day. Some day 💖xxxx
Goosebumps with the shivers traveling all the way up my back to my neck!! The golden ghost was a beast of a story. Wow. Each one of your stories, Nicola is so much different from the previous one. The tone of your voice and the depth of your research makes your channel so unique. Just once in your lifetime, if you have not already done so, you need to come to Charleston South Carolina. The paranormal that lingers in Charleston and the surrounding areas from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War is everywhere. I so enjoyed the ghost stories of Wales. Thank you. 👻🫣
I just found your channel and I absolutely love the stories and the way you present them- it's wonderful. Hearing your own thoughts and little details beyond the story itself make listening so much more enjoyable. And as a fellow lover of history and especially personal items, your endings with historic postcards are lovely little gimpses into the past. Thanks for sharing those. Oh and since you asked, I would absolutely stay in any of those places- not just because of the potential for a ghostly experience, but also because they look so beautiful. You folks in the UK are very lucky- we have nothing like that here in Canada.
Hello and welcome along! I thank you kindly for your lovely comment. I am so glad you enjoyed the video and the history. I love Canada and I appreciate the history in the USA and Canada is different to the UK but I still find it fascinating in its own right. I hope to return to Canada in the next year or two for sure 😊
As always, Nicola, your videos are superb. Wales is breathtaking, and listening to the stories was a delight. Thank you for the wonderful content! It provided me with great entertainment on my cruise when I wasn't in port or busy with other activities onboard. 👏👏
Your pronunciation got me too! I’m from North Wales, never expected you to be from Cardiff 🤷🏼 Absolute class as usual, looking forward to the next one 💪🏻
Oh thank you! Yes indeed, Cardiff born and bred. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have you watched the girl, the ghost and the gravestone on BBc iPlayer? it covers a haunting in North Wales and it’s very good. 👍
I work in Conwy so am able to visit Aberconwy house frequently. In 2019, I saw a young woman standing at the top of the stairs on the upper floor who vanished as I looked at her. Couple of weeks ago, a smell of tobacco on the same floor but no sign of Mr Jones. Visited Powis castle a couple of years back, while sitting in the cafe, had someone brush their hand over my arm"
Fantastic video. My Mum was from Swansea & we went to Mumbles a lot as youngsters. I'm glad the lady passed away on the pier with her friends rather than the workhouse. I actually stayed in Jamaica Inn some years ago & you could certainly feel the history of the place but nothing paranormal. I've stayed in far more creepier places. Lol.
Another fabulous collection! I must pause it for a minute to tell you how much I appreciate your illustrations. So many channels, especially in the historical genre, are using AI illustrations these days, which makes them banal, boring, and often inaccurate. But yours are thoughtfully chosen from a variety of arts, and that takes time and care. Thanks so much.
Thanks so much 😊 I know what you mean about AI and I agree it's everywhere now! I adore art, paintings, drawings etc so I like to include them where possible. Glad you like them 🙏
Oh thank you ever so much indeed! I am so pleased you are enjoying the videos. I like to blend photos and sometimes art to illustrate the stories and I really appreciate your comment. 🙋♀️👻🙏
Great episode enjoyed it very much. I would stay at a haunted Inn 👻 but don't know how long I'd stay as I'm a bit of a scardy cat😁 Lovely postcards you do have some great ones 👍🏻 Hope you are well. 👻
Glad you enjoyed it as ever Ian! Have you watched the girl, the ghost and the gravestone on the BBC iPlayer. Very interesting and based in North Wales. I think it is in three parts. I think it’s worth a watch 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 I certainly will check that out hon and I raise you the film 'The Woman In Black','Great British Ghosts' with Michaela Strachan and the late 90's ORIGINAL British series Ghost Hunters! Enjoy🫡
I will! I do know the Great British Ghosts but will look for the other things. There are (I think) three tv episodes of Uncanny that were aired on BBC 2 over Halloween time and there’s a podcast of it on BBC sounds. My favourite episode on the podcast was called something like ‘The guest book’ and it really affected me for days. Also the one about ‘my best friend’s ghost’ was so moving. You may know them already but defo worth a look my spooky pal! 👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 I have watched half of uncanny so far and am enjoying it immensely🫂 I'm almost as spooky as Fox Mulder!😄Tall, dark, handsome(so I'm told) and SINGLE🤭oh beautifully enunciated one 😉 If you like Uncanny then I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy both series of Ghosthunters,a similar format, and as a stand alone film The Woman In Black is your quintessential Victorian gothic ghost fest!See how quickly you can work it out-great stuff.
I think I might have watched the Ghosthunters. Did it include a lady who was an actress and a man called Tom who was a medium? I think it was filmed in the 1970s but I will revisit it. Are you watching uncanny on T V or listening to the podcast? I am so pleased you’re enjoying it. It is on tour at the moment I believe.
Wonderful video 📹❗ I was particularly taken with the. story of the man in gold 🪙. That woman was indeed, brave. I wonder what was in the box 🎁❓ Very curious.
I heard about her from the show Ghost Adventures. Season 5, episode 1. In short, she fell in love with an English sailor who had to go back out to sea but promised to return. He never did, for some unknown reason. She died of a broken heart (more likely of something like TB). And now her ghost supposedly will lie in bed with people that sleep in her room.
Everything about your videos is professional and pleasing. Wonderful photography, excellent narration, and the research you do is appreciated. I have an interest in the paranormal due to a bit of clairaudience, which has always been monitory, never frightening. A new subscriber here! Thank you for your work.
Thank you very much! Welcome to the channel! I appreciate your kind words and I hope you’ll find plenty more videos to have look at on the channel. A new one is out on Friday 🙋♀️👻
I think there will be one on the South East corner of Wales so Newport will definitely make an appearance for sure 👻🙋♀️ I might also cover a bit further afield too. I have relatives from St Julian’s in Newport 👻🙋♀️
I will look into this and it sounds very active! I don’t know if you watched my Ghosts of Bath video but there was a link to Australia there. I love Australia and I’d like to travel more in New South Wales and also in Western Australia which I found fascinating! 👻🙋♀️
lived near Conwy so loved this one as I've been to aberconwy house a few times never had a spooky experience there, Plas Mawr on the other hand I have in the turret room was freezing in there on a hot summers day about 10 degrees diffrence so went to go down to the floor below but felt like some one was trying to get past me and felt pressure on my back, no hands just pressure (I was on my own as the other people went down before me) I was quite unnerved ! 😨 the pier story was quite sad but yes nicer to pass in a nice place rather than a work house. I lived in colwyn bay which had a pier until recently which was haunted by the projectionist I think as it had a cinema on it at one time (my great aunty used to work as a cleaner there .I think it had had about 3 fires there since it was first built unfortunately the council let it go to rack and ruin (as with many other older buildings in the bay) and they said it was now dangerous and demolished it so now there's only a jetty that they built there instead which is sad :(
Another great vid. This one I found fascinating as I've yet to ever visit Wales (I know) I would love to stay at some of these places, I'm not sure how I'd react to blatant 'activity' however. I'm hopeful that I would stay strong and not run away because deep down I don't believe there is anything to be frightened of. Mind you, reading what @letitroll1972 had to write below, maybe that would be easier said than done. The portraits and art in this video are also quite beautiful. Again, you can almost feel what these people were like without ever meeting them. Some of these places also look incredible. I must make more of an effort soon to visit. All the stories are filled with questions but the dog? I don't know 🙂Well done anyway again. Work harder will you! I want two of these per day while I recover from illness ok haha!! Best wishes, Glenn X
You are very welcome as ever Glen. I know, stating on a haunted location might give you a sleepless night for sure! Wales is lovely and if you do get to visit there are so many historic locations. Castles galore, stately homes, just all sorts. I’m biased but Cardiff is vibrant and Cardiff Castle is really something! Thank you as ever my friend 😊
I have stayed in a hotel that was haunted. There's an old town in Arizona called Bisbee. It's famous for it's copper mines and an old grand dame hotel called the Copper Queen. John Wayne filmed many of his movies there and stayed many nights in the first room at the top of the stairs. He was married at the time to a woman named Pilar who was very jealous. One night she went upstairs uunannounced and found him in bed with the leading actress in his current film. I didn't know any of this at the time - my husband and I were married there in 2016 and the room we stayed in was John Wayne's favorite room. We checked in to the room and as I flipped the light switch on, it flipped off. I flipped it back on and the tv in the room went on and then with a bang, it died. We had to call down to the office and have it replaced. We married in front of the third floor fireplace at sundown and after dinner and drinks went back to the room. At 2 am we started hearing a hushed argument. It progressed to a full fight between a man and woman in the upstairs lobby. There was shouting and breaking of glass by the fireplace. We put up with it for 20 minutes and then looked. Nothing. It started up again. Shouting and swearing in English and Spanish (he was bilingual, she was Peruvian) and again things breaking. We opened the door again to silence. We finally went down to see the manager. The desk clerk looked annoyed and woke him. He showed us the guest register. We were the only guests in that area. We explained the fighting we'd heard and with a stunned look, he told us that John Wayne had been there with Pilar in a working honeymoon. She had caught him within days cheating on her. In that room.
Wow what an interesting story and thank you ever so much for sharing. I love that idea of a famous person haunting a property. The Halloween special had a famous person haunting another famous person in the UK! 👻🙏
Just came across your channel. I am really enjoying it. Notifications on for your llancaiach fawr upload went many times as a child hoping to do the ghost tour in the near future.
Another nice video. I've worked with several people in my last job who experienced phenomena. However, the owner of the business didn't want it to get a ghostley repuation, so none of the phenomena should be promoted. I will say no more regarding this, but I understand why businesses do not get into the ghost tourism industry.
Thanks for sharing! I agree, it is quite possible that the inn doesn't want to put people off for sure. Interesting how different businesses use different approaches. Thank you kindly.
33:10 While I believe in ghosts and have seen a FBA at a former hunting lodge (now residence) in Upstate New York, I've never knowingly stayed in a haunted inn, pub or hotel. I'm trying to recall whether I've had any paranormal experiences beyond unsettling feelings while traveling. If I have, I was either exhausted, inebriated and/or anything that transpired was too subtle for me to take notice. Yes, I would stay at the Llindir Inn. I wouldn't want Sylvia removing my blankets in the night-that would probably terrify me. If I were with a gentleman friend and she joined us in bed, I have a feeling we'd try to rationalize it, but I don't like to share! If she were to play with my makeup, I'd be freaked out but as long as she didn't spill anything it would be OK-she's been though a lot.👻💄
I love this thank you so much! I wonder if the Llindir inn will become popular with stag parties now! I agree, I don’t think I’d like to meet Sylvia myself! 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Lol-Paranormal stag nights! What with all the ghost hunting shows in the mainstream media (on the Travel Channel, no less, in the USA) I'll bet there's a market for that. And hooking up with a spirit might not be as much of a bone of contention between the betrothed...
Really good video, look into Pembrey country park, lots of history, lots of energy both good and bad, ive experienced lots there and no doubt eill will continue to
@@ghostcasebook1266 you're welcome, WW1, WW2 history, ex munitions factory, women died in one of the explosions, also further back in time, a group called men of the little hatchet used to lure in ships, kill the crew and steal the ships contents, I do believe Napoleons niece was one of the victims
That it was seen by two of you- and so detailed. Horrifying- glad you are all 👍 😊
Oh wow that sounds rather disturbing! I am not surprised you left! I hope your daughter was ok. Goodness me! 👻🙋♀️

I love these videos. Unlike a lot of TH-camrs, who just concentrate on the spooky aspects of the stories, you remember they were real people with feelings and treat them with respect. It's very touching. I love the postcards too, tiny, brief windows into the lives of people long gone xxx
Thank you so much; this makes me really happy 👻🙋♀️🙏

Wow that’s so interesting and definitely creepy! I can imagine that being quite terrifying to say the least! 👻🙋♀️

As an American we can’t fathom 500 yr old houses. If a house was built in the 1800’s it’s “ Omg- over 100? Call the Historical Society! Get a plaque on that puppy!”
I know, lots of Americans find the history fascinating, but equally I find American history and architecture fascinating too! 👻🙋♀️

Hi Michelle and Benjamin! No snow here and I am never ready for Christmas! Ever! I think you sound more organised than me. Last year I put up Christmas lights and it was such an effort I left them up. They are still up now ha ha! Does that count as being ready for Christmas?

Wow that’s mad! I wonder if the property had a story to tell. Thank you so much 👻🙋♀️

Perfect Sunday companion….
You do such a wonderful job.
Thank you.

Just got home and im so excited to see this video. 😊
Hooray! Happy weekend my friend 👻🙋♀️
Thank you. Just what I needed
You’re very welcome! 👻🙋♀️
Our family discovered our Welsh relatives at the dawn of social media. We are consumed with learning about all our British cousins. Thank you so much❤🇺🇲
Oh that’s fantastic! I love this! Do you know where about in Wales your family are from? Thank you so much 🙋♀️👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 Back then, our branch of the Athays lived in Somerset.
I always look forward to these stories, your voice is spot on 😊
Thank you so much! You are very kind and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video ❤😊
Thank you. 👻🫣
Thank you ever so much for your kind words. I'd love to go to South Carolina and visit the areas you mention. Maybe a future project for sure 🤔
The deaths of the babies was heartbreaking. Thank you for your sensitivity in telling the story. Looking forward to your next video.
Thank you so much. This means a great deal to me. 👻🙋♀️🙏
Enjoy all your content fantastic.
Thank you ever so much. That’s great 👻🙋♀️
Yet another great story
Thank you so much 👻🙋♀️
Superb!
Thank you! Cheers! 👻🙋♀️
Amazing video 😬
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much 👻🙋♀️
As always, Nicola, your videos are superb. Wales is breathtaking, and listening to the stories was a delight. Thank you for the wonderful content! It provided me with great entertainment on my cruise when I wasn't in port or busy with other activities onboard. 👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ever so much indeed! I am so glad you are enjoying the videos and have the best time on your cruise! 👻🙋♀️🙏
Your pronunciation got me too! I’m from North Wales, never expected you to be from Cardiff 🤷🏼
Absolute class as usual, looking forward to the next one 💪🏻
Oh thank you! Yes indeed, Cardiff born and bred. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have you watched the girl, the ghost and the gravestone on BBc iPlayer? it covers a haunting in North Wales and it’s very good. 👍
@@ghostcasebook1266 No I haven’t, but I’ll make a point of doing so now. Thank you👍🏻
Thank you for sharing these spooky stories. 😊
Glad you like them! Thank you 👻🙋♀️
I love Cardiff and enjoyed my visit there. Lookin forward to your coverage of your hometown. Thank you!
Thank you so much Cliff 👻🙏
I like that. "Proper names, place names...and a haunted pub". It's so off-the-cuff. XD
Brilliant channel with wonderful pleasant narration and thought provoking stories,, keep up the good work.
Glad you enjoy it! Thank you ever so much 👻🙋♀️
I work in Conwy so am able to visit Aberconwy house frequently.
Lol.
Thank you so much and I love that your family has a Swansea connection! I agree, better to pass away by the seaside than in the workhouse ❤
@@ghostcasebook1266 I'd definitely prefer it.
Thank you! Just discovered your channel. ♥Excellent stories and presentation. The Post Cards at the end are a charming touch.
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel! 👻🙋♀️🙏
Lovely
Great episode enjoyed it very much. I would stay at a haunted Inn 👻 but don't know how long I'd stay as I'm a bit of a scardy cat😁 Lovely postcards you do have some great ones 👍🏻 Hope you are well. 👻
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you so much Linda! I am doing pretty well now thank you 👻🙋♀️
A lovely video as ever Nicola, thanks🫂🙂
@@ghostcasebook1266 I have watched half of uncanny so far and am enjoying it immensely🫂
I'm almost as spooky as Fox Mulder!😄Tall, dark, handsome(so I'm told) and SINGLE🤭oh beautifully enunciated one
😉
If you like Uncanny then I see no reason why you wouldn't enjoy both series of Ghosthunters,a similar format, and as a stand alone film The Woman In Black is your quintessential Victorian gothic ghost fest!See how quickly you can work it out-great stuff.
You and me both! Yes I wonder what was in the casket. I had trouble finding a picture of a man in gold; I kept getting David Bowie and Liberace! 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 LOL
The Llindir Inn ghost reminds me of the story of Jerusha Howe's ghost at The Longfellow's Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA., USA.
Oh wow I will have to look that story up. Thank you so much 👻🙋♀️
I heard about her from the show Ghost Adventures.
YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DESCIPTIVE VOICE WHICH ENHANCES YOUR NARATIVE WELL DONE AND THANK YOU
Wow, thank you! You are very kind Peter 🙋♀️👻🎄

Really enjoyed this video 😊 can u do one on Newport please 🙏
I think there will be one on the South East corner of Wales so Newport will definitely make an appearance for sure 👻🙋♀️ I might also cover a bit further afield too. I have relatives from St Julian’s in Newport 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 I live in Newport lol x
Thanks Nicola....I'm always excited to see your new videos appear in my feed......excellent work as usual!!
Best wishes from Ireland!
Thank you! You too!
New South Wales is stoically keeping up with Wales, in relation to hauntings. Monte Cristo Homestead, Junee NSW is home to ten ghosts. Great read.
I lived in colwyn bay which had a pier until recently which was haunted by the projectionist I think as it had a cinema on it at one time (my great aunty used to work as a cleaner there .I think it had had about 3 fires there since it was first built unfortunately the council let it go to rack and ruin (as with many other older buildings in the bay) and they said it was now dangerous and demolished it so now there's only a jetty that they built there instead which is sad :(
Yes I think I’ll cover Plas Mayr in the future. Thank you for sharing your story and glad you enjoyed the video. 👻🙋♀️
Thanks heaps for a great episode my dad was Welsh cheers from jamie Cressy Victoria Australia
Oh fantastic. Do you know where he was born or brought up? I have welsh relatives living in Canberra today 🙋♀️🙏👻
I love Wales, my grand parents, came from Briton Ferry, Cardiff, and I was also born on my grandmother’s birthday 👍
Yes Cardiff is my city too! 🙏👻🙋♀️
This place seems very interesting I would love to look around this area ,I'm going to Wales this year so hopefully I can go visit,❤❤❤xx
You should! Wales is where I was born and raised and I absolutely love it. It is a very haunted place! 🙋♀️👻
Just came across your channel. I am really enjoying it. Notifications on for your llancaiach fawr upload went many times as a child hoping to do the ghost tour in the near future.
Yes, weird things happen there! I love this, Kate and thank you ever so much 👻🙋♀️😂
Another nice video.
Wonderful film ❤
Thank you ever so much 👻🙏
Another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
33:10 While I believe in ghosts and have seen a FBA at a former hunting lodge (now residence) in Upstate New York, I've never knowingly stayed in a haunted inn, pub or hotel.
