How can I get my partner to take Amrit? Bhai Jasbir Singh

There are two different answers from two ppl.
1. Motivate your wife/husband to take amrit.
2. Single person can take amrit but conditions apply.
So confusing. Can someone clarify?
Please make it clear. I been married and have two kids. I am a Amritdhari Sikh but my wife is not yet. Is that mean I gave away my rehat maryada?
