    One of my earbuds was not charging. I cleaned both sets of contacts (one on the earbud and the other on the charger) and nothing happened. Then, I just measured dc voltage in the non-working bud, and it's led just lilted. And voila, the bud started to charge as usual. I did not even have to use an external 1.5V battery to "stimulate" the earbud. Thanks for your video.

      I'm guessing jlab is just building the ear buds with faulty batteries, I'm returning mine and buying from a reputable manufacturer. Mine was broken out of the box, even if got this to work I still have a worn out battery in a new product.

    • @justinc.242
      @justinc.242 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thinkingimpaired5663 I went back to the store and got my 3rd pair of these, I still love them...when you get a pair that works. Just make sure they work before you leave the store and you will be happy.on a second note, don't get them wet or the noise cancelling will not work properly anymore.

    • @thinkingimpaired5663
      @thinkingimpaired5663 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justinc.242 Thanks I would but what jlab is doing is not using quality control to either place enough surface charge on the assembled product or just getting rid old battery inventory. It's cheaper for jlab to replace ear buds under warranty because many people won't use the warranty. So overall cost is low. These ear buds likely only cost a couple of dollars per unit to manufacture perhaps even less. I'm going to buy a more reputable brand. I bought the more expensive Jlab over the cheapest model to prevent any issues too. I'll drive a total of 40 miles because of these ear buds and spend 2 hours time. Cheaper to buy a more expensive product that has a much better quality control by manufacturer.

      @@thinkingimpaired5663 My first set of these were priced at 80, they worked flawlessly until I messed them up getting them wet and loosing one. Went back for a new pair they are 70 and had your same issue, dead battery fresh out the box. Went back a 3rd time and have another great working pair. What other pair do you know of in this price range or at all for that matter with a 40 hour battery life, loud volume, eq control, ANC and all the other features these provide? I am honestly curious and not being a smartass.

    I'm deployed military right now and won't be getting off base for the next two weeks and don't have access to a DC meter. Would you mind checking which is the positive and which is the negative on the left bud?
    Also if I can't scavenge any wire do you think I could strip a USB cable and use that connected to the wall?
    Please help, the idea of going two weeks without headphones is terrifying
    Update: I was able to scrap together some materials and did tried it and now the charging light is coming on the case! But still the ear phone won't turn on. How long did you have to wait for the earpod to receive the charge?

    • @nyelectriciantalk
      @nyelectriciantalk  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You don’t have to test with meter, there is a diode inside so, if the headphone doesn’t light up one way flip the wires on the headphone contacts the other way.
      You can use any wire just make sure you have a 9V battery
      The headphone should light up from the battery then put into the charging case for 15 mins, the next see if connects with phone, If not the try syncing the two headphones together

    Hey! So I had 'lost' my right earbud maybe for 2 weeks or so (in the mess of my room), maybe a bit more. So put it into the case after finding it and it indicated charging but I noticed the light is a baby blue not a deep blue and definitely not white. Doesn't connect to my phone and the light actually doesn't turn off so it has a charge just not connected nor turning off. Tried holding down the button for 30 seconds, no voice prompts or change of light color or activity. Im thinking to just let the battery drain keeping it out of the case and keep charging it through the case after it drains. Thats the plan, maybe you've encountered something like this? My bro science speculation is it spent so much time off and not connected its just holding charge as hardware containing electricity not a device keeping its program. Iunno lol

    • @nyelectriciantalk

      Wire gauge doesn’t matter as long as the current flows into the battery in the headphone. Make sure you have a good battery an if doesn’t work one way flip the wires on the contacts of the headphone.
