We used to go many times a year (we are locals)...Even though I do love Princess Tiana from Disney on Ice, I don't have any plans to ever go back to Disneyland again. I can't support the woke agenda in any way because they have gone too far.
@Dennis Cartter If you're saying only happy people allowed at Disney....that's not going to bring in the money for Disney because the woke crowd (the only ones who would be happy over Disney World caving into their demands) is not going to be enough to make a profit. They probably wouldn't be enough to make enough to cover the expenses of maintaining Disney World.

Poor Walt Disney. He worked so hard to bring joy to the children and families. The people who have been in charge of Disneyland/World the last 10 years or so have ruined the family value. I rarely support boycotting, but I hope the parents do. Send a message loud and clear.

My wife grew up on Disney. To her, Disney has given her some of her best memories. She grew up watching classics like Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty. She was raised around the time of beauty and the beast, lion king, toy story. She worked for 7 months as part of a school program, making literal pennies and that never made a difference, she loved every single moment. When I met her, I knew that Disney was one of her favorite past times and few things that she truly loves. Even to this day, I see her wince every single time news like this hits and she still tries to make excuses for them because her brain refuses to let her believe Disney is no longer the childhood dream she once remembered. Unfortunately, it’s never going to get better. Down with Disney and their kissing of the woke ring. That castle now represents the eye of Sauron. I hope that place goes financially bankrupt and all of their IPs are sold to someone much wiser. What a shame…

Disgusting. About 5 years ago, my family decided to stop going to Disney parks. Besides the outrageous cost, there was a wave of pandering to a few people going on and it's left a bad taste. Instead of Disney, we took our family of six to Ireland for 2 weeks, and had an excellent time. We did a day to day cost comparison and Ireland was less expensive and we didn't have to pay five bucks for a watery soda.
"Song of the South" depicted sharecroppers, not slaves. And yes, it made it look nicer than it really was. That was DISNEY. Chimney sweeps also had nasty jobs, but they were glamorized in "Mary Poppins". In addition SotS had a positive portrayal of Uncle Remus, who is presented as kind and wise. He was the one who know what the boy really needed.

We are, or were, a Disney family visiting the parks over 3 times a year. Last year we made a decision not to return to the parks due to the outrageous costs, the woke agenda and the removal of services.

Not only that, but it seems they’re trying to invent a square wheel here….. They intend to retheme this to “The Princess & the Frog” … which means this ride would automatically have the Louisiana Bayou background theme added to it, right? Problem is … the current Splash Mountain ride is in Critter Country! So unless they plan to somehow connect this ride to New Orleans Square along with POTC & THM, it would make no sense to have such a rethemed aesthetic look completely tacky without being allowed to blend in with its ideal surroundings (ex: could you honestly picture a “Frozen” themed attraction sitting in the middle of Frontierland??)
I agree 💯👍🏼 Disney has no spine. Believe me if they ignored the woke, the woke would still go to Disneyland. People of all races have enjoyed Disney for over 50 years. Closing this ride and taking woke to the extreme is alienating the people who have the value's that made America the great country it is.

They looked with contempt on the working class and middle class men who had worked their behinds off since war industries led the way to opening better jobs for black men.

It represents a time of sanity, as opposed to the current one. Besides, if anyone makes a buck out of the sale, it wouldn't be Disney, but the antique shop owner, i.e. the little guy earning an honest living.
I grew up with Disney and was up until a few years ago an avid Disney park attendee. Growing up in California, my family would visit Disneyland every year for our family vacations. I often dreamed about taking my future wife and children to Disney parks but now actually having a family I’m not super keen on taking them. The Disney of today is not the same Disney when I was a kid. Their values and political standings of the last couple years has almost completely turned me off to them. Not to mention their soaring prices at their parks including their cash grabbing strategies. I truly hope they wake up to their coming demise.

I think Disney is destroying itself on purpose. The people that work for the company now hate Walt Disney and everything he stood for (the American Dream, American exceptionalism, etc). He was a white successful straight Christian man, and they hate that. Since they can’t destroy the man himself, they’re going after the next best thing-his company. I have a feeling that in the years to come, the company will cease to exist.

Brer Rabbit is one of the first original African characters introduced to America, passed down through oral tradition. He was based on the trickster animal archetype, in Africa, sometimes a spider called Anansi. There were many Brer Rabbit stories in my reading books as a kid, as I recall he was always outwitting the fox and other animal characters through his ingenuity. I think they should leave parts of Brer Rabbit and add the New Orleans story with Tiana as part of the journey we all face. Brer Rabbit stories were around several hundred years in America and thousands in Africa before SOTS came out.

When my kid was 9, took her on her dream vacation to Disneyworld that she had been pining for since she was 3, but first we flew to Bahamas and stayed there for 5 nights, snorkeling with the fish, turtles and stingrays, hanging out all day by one of the many resort pools or sandy beaches, before flying over to Orlando for a 5 night stay at Disney. By day 2 at Dismalworld, the 9yo was missing Bahamas and wanted to go back, but we had already paid for our 5 day stay and park tickets. At age 3, she probably would have been easily fooled but at age 9, she was literally bored stiff of the fakery and I have the sad vacation pictures to prove it. Song of the South with Uncle Remus reading stories to the white kids was one of the first books that interested me enough to actually read as a young boy growing up in rural Central Fl. in the 60's and also gave me a positive view of black people that I wasn't getting where I lived as we were so heavily segregated at that time. It was one of the seminal books of my life. Sad to see Disney replacing it with a ride about a black swamp princess named Tiana.
I'm surprised it lasted that long. Great ride. It will be missed. Have the Russian dancing children been removed from Small World yet? Stand by. I'm sure that's coming as we stand with Ukraine🙄
Stop being so silly this ride isn’t changing but the story is this movie is from 1946 you think kids these days give a shit? No they like familiar characters and Tiana was a perfect choice. You’re just being a cry baby 😭
Uncle Remus isn't even a negative character or stereotype. Slavery isn't even in this movie. This film is based on the Reconstruction era after the Civil War. The two white kids in the film turned to him because their parents' marriage was on the rocks and they didn't know who else to speak to. In those days, kids were supposed to be seen, not heard. Uncle Remus understood they were hurting and confused and took them under his wing, telling them stories about Br'er Rabbit to comfort them. Uneducated people may say this film is sugarcoating history, but they have to remember it's Disney. The fairytales Walt adapted had the tone and their endings changed to be happier and more hopeful compared to the sometimes horrifying source material. These wokies are a detriment to society.

Sounds like Carolla is saying the only thing the these actions benefit are the feelings of the complainers and I agree. In most cases the complainers aren't even part of the society they are complaining about and that part of the society isn't complaining.
I remember my parents taking my sister & I to see "Song of the South" at the theater. As I remember the live action/animated movie was narrated by "Uncle Remus". Most of the musical numbers were performed by animated animal characters. I don't remember anything racist about the movie. There was nothing in the movie about slavery at all. I would love to be able to purchase a DVD or BluRay copy of "Song of the South". I also liked "Dumbo" & I believe that it was also accused of being racist.
Adam Carolla could not be more correct in every word he said, as a Brit I have no idea who he is or what he does, but he certainly speaks a great deal of sense. I know because when becoming a teacher in the 1900/00s (from industry) I hold a senior post dealing with pastoral duties for upper school teenagers in an inner city multicultural school which had white, black and brown pupils. The majority of my time was spent dealing with classroom disruption, fights, bullying, absences and shoplifting by black kids which really just never stopped. The job required asking parents to come in and if they did not, I went out with a social care officer and sometimes two police officers. In every case the father was not living at the home but the 'current' boyfriend was and often forced the kids out every night, so he have sex with the mother without the kids being around which often were more than four, often by different fathers. Even though coming from a working class background and my self had been a disruptive child and did a few break-ins in a gang, I could tell that my task was hopeless and was told by the Head, just fill in the paper work, so we have carried out 'care of service' so nothing would come back on her or the school. Not being like most of the teachers in England and I expect America straight from University, I had been in the military and civil engineering and thus use to being involved and seeing things getting done not just endless meeting discussing nonsensical political correctness. Often I was told off by my Head and LEA advisors not to keep on bringing up the very point Adam makes because, like him, I believe before you can solve a problem you must first identify what the actual problem is and then put into place something to stop it. I was often called a racist by saying things like, "the problem is we have had decades of black kids not having a proper family upbringing. It was obvious even though having good discipline and exam results I was not cut to be a school manager, so I left a job I loved and was good at. Adam also stated very well, all this identity politics i.e. slogans and closing a Disney ride down is just prevarication and in truth just make things worse because people are not stupid, we all know what the problem but too scared to say so. Sadly both in your country and mine I can't see things getting better and as we now see here in our cities are 'tribal' black gangs fighting over drug territory using machetes and automatic guns as in your cities.

She was raised around the time of beauty and the beast, lion king, toy story. She worked for 7 months as part of a school program, making literal pennies and that never made a difference, she loved every single moment. When I met her, I knew that Disney was one of her favorite past times and few things that she truly loves. By day 2 at Dismalworld, the 9yo was missing Bahamas and wanted to go back, but we had already paid for our 5 day stay and park tickets.
I'm so tired of this. These people are addicted at canceling things. They will never stop ever.
Song of the South is a classic
I don’t think people’s civil rights and sensitivity should take precedent over the Joy we experience at Splash Mountain year after year.
I wish Disney would realize that
Peoples civil rights should. But splash mountain has NOTHING TO DO WITH CIVIL RIGHTS
@@coolguywithshades34 EXACTLY!!!! I mean just think about that what does politics and the civil rights of human be fine have to do with a log flume ride, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
That ride is so fun! The animated characters are so cool! This helps nothing and only separates people more.
I agree with you there this is what separates people more and it's really sad and it's disgusting all it takes is one dumb monkey to stop the show for everyone else everyone is there to have a good time and enjoy themselves and bring their kids it's supposed to be a fun magical place for all of us I used to watch Disney when I was a kid and I forget I think it was a bunch of kids that used to come to the park and they go on the the monorail and when I see them go on the the the monorail that goes inside the hotel I dream of going on that well the year 2014 came around my wife was pregnant with our daughter and we went to Disney in the month of February or March it was and it was fun for me and I'm an African- American mixed with white and let me tell you something I went on Splash Mountain and never had a problem with it I didn't see anything about it there was nothing racist about it at all in my eyes and I would still go back but as I said it takes one monkey to stop the show for everybody else and that's just disgusting if we don't learn to act like we have common sense we're not going to have anything and that the people who keep taking things like Aunt Jemima pancakes off the shelf and say okay you're going to take the ladies image off the box or the pancake syrup Mrs Butterworth she's been up there for years as long as I can remember and I used to see the commercials so seeing her face take off of the bottle itself that's disgusting Cream of Wheat same thing guys face is still on there but you know Colonel Sanders has his and it's KFC which used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken back in the day and I still love it but that doesn't necessarily make me a racist I'm just a human being like everybody else but you're absolutely right it's going to definitely separate us if we don't do something about this
@@andrerone8208 Have you seen Cousin T's pancakes yet? They are pricey and online sales only, but he isn't taking his picture off of the box! As for Disney, they're supposed to be a place for everyone, and it's disappointing to see them removing Disney history over political views. Have a Merry Christmas man!

black racism closes one of the best rides
Agree with Adam.
Apparently, Disney hasn't lost enough money yet!!! Keep it up guys, and soon you'll be a distant memory.
I’m rooting for the continuation of Disney’s demise simply because when I eventually have kids I was dreading to take them on the trip. I’ve heard horror stories from parents
The real horror is the COST. I went years ago with my son and wife...it left a crater in my bank account. By the time you go..., you'll need to take out a damn mortgage....Go to Universal and see the two Harry Potter parks instead...
Lyndon Johnson was the one who set this nightmare of Liberalism in motion.
MEGYN & ADAM should do a Twitter Spaces show and I bet it would do well and reach new people. Spaces is a good places these days..
They are not closing due to racism! They are updating a favorite ride to meet Princess & The Frog. If Splash Mountain is to take another form Princess & The Frog is perfect. Totally acceptable to adapt the ride in my opinion. Don’t let BS media try and sell you ocean front property in Arizona.
The only thing that has to change is people having a bunch of kids with different dead beat men that don’t stay together as a family.
Disney called-They wanted to use your comment as exhibit A for racist rhetoric. I told them you were busy on your knees getting your teeth brushed by Orange Jesus.
They said nevermind.
She’s kidding right? “The Wokesters?” Disney is literally the wokesters 😂😂😂
I used to be such a Disney lover as a child. Now I absolutely loathe them.
Understood: such a betrayal.
@@texasnewt 100%. It's nothing like the Disney I grew up with that actually gave a damn about "imagineering" rather than "pandering" to 1% of the population.
With the price of admission and parking, and food at Disney Theme Parks getting so out of hand, I think Disney should have re-named it CASH Mountain. At least it would have had an element of truth to it.
Yes, Cash Mountain…they could theme it around Scrooge McDuck (who ought to be their corporate mascot). Disney has demonstrated, beyond any doubt, that they don’t give a rat’s ass about their fans/customers, except to empty their pockets, and that’s about it!
I got to live for several decades in north Alabama. During that time I attended the estate sale of the beautiful humsn woman who played opposite to Uncle Remus (the only other human actor actually seen in the movie. The rest is entirely animated.
This lady who played opposite James Baskin, was the granddaughter of the producer of the original filming of Gone with the Wind. The estate sale featured movie stills from that original filming. I did meet her widower at that sale. She had had MS throughout her life and had finally finally succumbed to that problem.
I think that all of this sound and fury is a grand attempt to rail at our shared dead history.
It’s too bad that the focus has gone from healing the scars of the past and is now focused on making them uglier by vilifing artwork which simply depicts the period. Be peace. Share peace and let it be.
Great clip Megyn & word Adam! The question is how do we get good fathers into plus keep them in the family? Or maybe even, how are we raising/indoctrinating our little boys that they're abandoning their wives & children?
That abandonment works both ways, buckoo!
Economics has a LOT to do with it, maybe decent pay, family leave, and healthcare for all would help families stay strong? Just a thought.
LOL never mind that the very people they claim to want to help end this “racism” for can’t even afford to visit ANY Disney park.
You can if you work
People with good paying jobs or has a job but lives with a family member rent free can afford it if they work. People with minimum jobs who financially support themselves can't. Disney World is ridiculously expensive and the cost of living has gone up with many living pay check to pay check, struggling to keep a roof over their head, food on their table and the other necessities of life.
😂🤣🤣
@@denniscartter6029 with this inflation? lol most can't even with a decent job. according to these idiots, the price of admission and everything else in the park is racist.
Well, then, they should let black people in for free! With free airfare and lodging for the entire black family!
The movie Song of the South has been banned in America for years. I took my niece and nephew to Disney and tried to explain the movie to them which is depicted during the ride. I decided I would buy the movie and we would watch it together. When I didn't see it in the gift shop at the end of the ride I asked a sales associate and they informed me that it was banned years ago.
There’s a dvd being sold on Amazon (likely not official but I got it for my dad last Christmas).
You need to look up the word 'banned' in the dictionary - it doesn't mean what you think it means
I found song of the south on DVD on eBay a couple years ago , I brought it and I'm very happy I did , I loved the movie when I was a kid and I still love it , even though it might be banned you can still find it though ... I'm not going to let all these woke idiots ruin my fun ...
It is based on the folk tales of a distant cousin Joel Chandler Harris. Closing this ride and revamping it is ridiculous. I was also dismayed by the “taming “ of the Pirates ride. Disneyland has become a woke, groomer’s paradise.
The last time I been to Disney was 20 years ago. If somebody gave me free tickets to go there right now I would not go.
Love Carrolla's common sense!!
I wish he would have beat the sh*t out of Jimmy Kimmel while they were together on "The Man Show.'
Sounds like Carolla is saying the only thing the these actions benefit are the feelings of the complainers and I agree. In most cases the complainers aren't even part of the society they are complaining about and that part of the society isn't complaining.
Will never let a single person in my family go on "Woke Mountain".
You control everyone in your family? Typical.
@@lacee7494 - Typical of what?
My family respects me. Yes, it us typical.
And yet..BOTH films, I feel, are absolute CLASSICS. So do many other people....
Disney needs to get a grip and get back to family values and stop this wokeism!
Disney's increasingly ridiculous woke-fest exemplifies and confirms the expression: "You can't fix STUPID."
Defund Disney by forgetting they even exist and give your hard earned dollars to something deserving.
Go to Universal or Gatorland.....much better.
One of corolla's best takes I've ever heard. 💯
Apparently Disney hasn’t figured it out! Too bad, there will be economic consequences and they deserve whatever they get!
Bedsheets harbor more bacteria than does a toilet seat! That's why I always sleep on the toilet!
What a shame! Hopefully people wake up and just boycott Disneyland. Period. The end. 😎
Disney. A shell of it's former glory.
Like everything else
it's not even a "shell".....its LESS than a shell.
❤
They should celebrate the African American stories like "Brer Rabbit." It's a wonderful story.
Exactly it was a folk tale that would defend blacks
They can close down all of Disney for all I care. Tired of this woke bullshit. I'll be visiting Universal from now on
If you call out the real problem, they say it's a distraction from their distraction from the real problem.
Disney really trying to destroy itself 😂
Communist that control Disney are,his family that are left DO NOT CARE and are Billionaires ....and are SCUM
They already have......
DISNEY ARE CHARING THROUGH THE NOSE , for the privilege of queuing in a building site , the parks are overcrowded dumps , my family and I visited for the last time in March 2019 , we are from the UK and dropped a lot of money on the holiday , and we are not rolling in it lol. It was my dads last time to go to America because he was going to be 80yo later that year , and holiday insurance to the states when you are over 80 costs almost as much as the holiday would . We have been to Florida before, and we had done universal SeaWorld NASA Busch gardens , my dad loved them, and we saved going to Disney for his 80th , he hated it said that it was the worst Florida holiday we had had , we have done Vegas , New York, Washington , Graceland, and Dollywood lol , and according to my dad , and the rest of my family DISNEY was the worst holiday in America we have had .
They're going to combat rrracisms, by closing it, then reopening with an all black cast of characters
Problem solved!
Worst thing ever
I can't even get upset about this sort of thing now, because these people have simply gone so insane with their hatred and stupidity, that I simply find it hilarious anymore. 🤣
I just keep reminding myself who wins in the end..... and I hope we get to have popcorn during the high court proceedings in heaven, because it's going to be spectacular! 😆
This is my favourite ride at Disneyland, it’s iconic. This is shameful.
For the last year as stock prices dropped and product after product has been a woke failure I kept expecting Disney to change course, I am starting to think they won't. Shareholders need to demand the removal of everyone in Disney management V.P. and above. A return to what made Disney great is the only way to save them.
Give it time...Wall Street can be and is, VERY brutal. It's coming...just give it some time.
