    Great nuance in the bridge - keep abs engaged rather than pressing hips as high as they can go - thanks! Makes a big difference in an exercise I've been doing for years. Always room to grow.

    i really feel alot tension in my lower spine and i am sure i have somewhat of a pelvic tilt cause my butt pops out and my belly sticks out.
    but i am very masculine and my abs are strong since i train almost them many times per week and i dont understand why i might have this tilt .could it be genetic or from a certain activity (such as a sport like soccer?)

    thank you for this. explanation was good to hear (it's not a disease. thus giving hope for realignment and moving on with life...). second exercise reminds me of a reverse bird dog back strengthening exercise which is cool. I've had chronic? hip flexor injuries (first injured during track in HS), flaring up after trying to do core strengthening exercises and some leg exercises (like the double leg lift, leg scissors motion). I find myself wondering if I will ever be able to do those motions without my hip flexors being strained and actually have injury free ROM. I have been observing, I have shorter hip flexors, tight hips and weaker glute and lower abs. I have been trying to readjust my alignment when I become aware of APT, thus realizing my weak lower abdominals.
    Will give these a try, I really want to get better mobility in my hamstrings and hips, yet hamstrings also get strained like the hip flexors.
    thank you!

      Heavy squats and deadlifts unfortunately are two of them. Too much pressure on the lumbar discs, until you could get it fixed at least

      Renato Laranja damn. What are some replacement exercises for legs then?

    • @Strengthside
      @Strengthside  6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      In my opinion, there's no exercises to avoid (besides lower back extension stretching). Every exercise can give you a chance to work on bracing your core and keeping a neutral spine. Of course don't do max lifts but that's just common sense. Squatting can actually be a good way to practice anti-apt but i suggest goblet squats or very light barbell squatting. The same goes for deadlifting. Single leg work can be great because it doesn't stress the spine very much. Split Squats: th-cam.com/video/MI-aKrc6Iwk/w-d-xo.html Lunges, Single leg good morning/deadlifts are all great ways to develop leg strength without too much spine loading.

    Can ATP be cured when your in school. I'm 17 nearly 18 and I've had ATP since I was 14 or 15. My routine to cure ATP consists of lower back stretches to loosen and deactivate the low back muscles before doing plank. If I didn't do the back stretches first I'd feel my back taking over the movement so I put it in a static stretch to allow my core and abs to do more work. I also stretch and foam roll my quads and hip flexors and follow this by doing bridges and squeeze the shit out of my glutes while doing this so I know their doing the work. My problem is I have to go to school and sit down in a chair in a sedentary position for 6 or 7 hours a day which is what caused the Anterior Pelvic Tilt in the first place. Surely this renders all my correctional exercises useless or if I keep doing them will I eventually cure my Anterior Pelvic Tilt and my pregnant lady posture

    • @Strengthside
      @Strengthside  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's always tough when you have to sit a lot BUT let me assure you it's still possible to make positive changes. Make sure when you're sitting you are posterior tilting the pelvis. Do a little extra hip flexor stretching after you sit and keep up with your exercises, you will be fine if you keep it up and don't quit!
      P.S Make sure you're doing dead bugs and the tucked hollow body hold from this video.

    • @shaneodriscoll4232
      @shaneodriscoll4232 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strength Side thanks for the advice but the only exercise I really do for my core is like a half plank where I place my arms on a chair and like bend me knees also. I know that's a really bad picture as you probably can't get a good idea of what the exercise is but what this does is take away the hip flexors from the equation and this forces my abs (especially lower ones) to do the work.

    • @Strengthside
      @Strengthside  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're not training your core to stabilize while the hips are flexed then it never will in real life ... aka sitting

    • @shaneodriscoll4232
      @shaneodriscoll4232 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Strength Side but if i do tucked hollow body hold and dead bugs i wont be able to keep the small of my back flat on the ground and my back will automatically take over the movement whereas when you take hip flexors out of equation abs get the benefit. If I try for example a six inch hold where your legs are just off the ground you'd be able to put about 2 school books under my low back because its that far off the ground

    So if you have anterior pelvic tilt and you start working on abs would you experience some discomfort in lower back 4 days ago my back started to be really sore at that point at the lower back were those 2 point of bones are now cat and cow felt not so good very sore but windshield wipers and hip flexors stretch made it feel really good and hanging but I must keep my toes on floor not supporting my weight but to relax in just wondering what is going on
