Oh my word! Oh my word! Oh my word!! I am just lost in admiration and excitement to see your collection closer up! The tiny perfectly detailed items!! The tiny "taxidermy" birds in domes!!! And when you took the tables out, it gave an even clearer view of the delightful room, with the beautiful fire surround and wallpaper! And it's all in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!! In a CANAL HOUSE!! ... in M.I.N.I.A.T.U.R.E... it's just miraculous, and so so beautiful! Thank you very much for sharing!

That cake server! Wow! So much detail. All those silver pieces. Also, loved the rope box. I did a search on that piece and found a similar one (by the same artist) - it held many little spools of sewing thread which could be pulled through on the outside! I've never seen anything like that before, and it is so amazing in miniature. The silver basket made by you is about as cute as it could be! Well done...

Thanks so much! The piece you're describing sounds wonderful and I think I remember seeing it. They had such wonderful miniatures. Some of these I would love to try making myself, but I lack the time... 😃

I can’t think of any questions, I am just too dazzled by your collection! Such tiny and exquisite pieces! oh… I have a sort of a question, and sort of a request for show and tell. How would you decorate a table for a special birthday dinner in miniature? And can you show us or point out a few pieces that you would use?

Great idea, the workshop tour, for me in particular the lathe and duplicator as I need one for my little lathe as I need 16 identical legs.
I’d like to know how you got into miniatures and whether you were already collecting before you started making miniatures.

Absolutely beautiful pieces and so whimsical and realistic when you first showed up the antique shoppe and then reached in to take the table out. It was almost unbelievable to see a giant hand in there!😅 I love your creativity and your collection is amazing! Looking forward to more episodes!

My questions for you: How did you get started in making and collecting miniatures? Did you have a childhood dollhouse?
Edit: Just heard you say, nothing personal…so how about: is there a particular style of architecture or design you would like to represent in miniature that you haven’t explored yet? Hope that one’s okay…

The cake slice looks very similar to Don Henry Birdsfoot miniatures (canada - retired) Every single miniature is so very beautifully presented, your shop is just lovely

Hello Josje, you have some very beautiful things.
❓My question is, do you think there should be more variety in styles of dolls houses and furniture available for sale, ie more modern houses and furniture and accessories ❓
The stores that sell dolls houses and furniture etc all seem to focus on Victorian or older styles.
Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊

Josje you have so many valuable silver items as well as handcrafted furniture that I wonder how you list them for insurance purposes and does the company understand that they are miniatures when you describe them? 😂I suppose your detailed (if not always up to date, according to you) purchase book is very important in this case. Ara from Bentley House Minis needed to value her Adams Family House as it was on display and it was staggering the amount it added up to, which included a ridiculously low hourly rate for labour.
Also, as your collection is museum quality do you control the heat/cold/humidity?
I have found that pure silk discolours after a couple of years if PVA glue is used but not sure if double sided tape has the same effect. I have noted that you are particular in the materials you use, such free paper etc, can you give us a few do’s and don’t according to your experience in this matter please?
Had you ever thought of doing a ‘live’ session on TH-cam? Not a fan of these myself because of the time zones but would set the alarm for the middle of the night here if you decided to do one🤫

Hi Josje My question is do you use a computer printer for some of your fabrics or do you source them from miniature shows? Love seeing all the beautiful silver items. Your tray may be double silvered (dipped) to give it that deep shiny patina. I have one small plate that looks the same and it weighes slightly heavier than a similar dish due to the double coat.

    • @MakeMiniatures
      @MakeMiniatures  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

Thank you for your question Jane! As for the silver tray, I don't think silver items were dipped back in the 18th century. I think it's just a very pure silver and that's what I am seeing. But you may be right, I'm no expert 😃
