    They migrate here to give birth and molt dead skin. They're called the "canaries of the sea" for the many high-pitched vocalizations they use to communicate. Lancaster Sound is Canada's largest marine protected area, and contains other wildlife such as polar bears and seals.

    Great to see such a magnificent creature in open sea..most of the videos of beluga whales are from aquariums

    Beluga death rates are higher in captivity than they are in the wild. While belugas live up to 60 years in the wild, in captivity they very often die before the age of 30 and sometimes much earlier.

      They’re incredibly intelligent and highly sociable creatures. I'd even seen they're more like dolphins than whales

    Is it possible for any ordinary people to go on a trip with professional wild life workers to experience this in person? How does oneself book a trip like this, or is this about scientific research?

      It's a protected area, nat geo did this on research purposes, and they only could record from the sky

      You can’t really go there easily anyway. It very hard to go there since there’s no road or airport in this part of Nunavut, Canada. It’s so up North that very few people live in the Territory of Nunavut. It must have cost a loooot of money. I doubt they where allowed to land.
