yeah its a hard read that one, another book that kind of ties in with it is Revlolutionary Yiddishland and how the rise of zionism was responsible for the russian revolution and many more terrorist attacks in the lead up to the creation of Israel.. both books are rather disturbing, especially when you see whats going on today. we dont learn from history.

In the next part, if you are going to produce one, you could cover:
    (1) the creation of prisons and labour camps on the territory of the other Soviet Republics (a diffusion of the Gulag beyond Russia), (2) system of parole (conditional releases from prisons) with mandatory labour as a continuation of corrective-labour penal philosophy, (3) the coercive medical treatment and psychiatric institutions, in Moldova some of the labour camps for alcoholics were called “chimia”, (4) the forced Russification, in Moldova for example the “enemies of the people” were the pro-Romanian intellectuals, those who identified themselves as ethnically Romanian become political criminals. (5) something about staff? Arguably the hell-like prison conditions affected staff too. (6) more about the criminal subculture, aka “the thieves in law”.
Thanks for your amazing work in producing an accurate historical documentary.

Gulags no better than the German camps, had no care if they died as they just rounded up more. This enforced labour built the country and most likely made the government rich. The soviet government were no better than slavers. I’ve been so shocked watching this, I knew of the camps but not the extreme nature of them. How anyone survived is a miracle.

USSR was the bad guys also in WW2. Remember, they helped the Nazis until Hitler stuck them in the back. USSR also had the largest invasion in history into China and wanted to take Japan… until USA dropped two nukes. You are right, imagine winning against an invading army and your Democratic Government putting you in gulags. Who was going to stop them? The People of Russia under the full spell of Marxism and Terror. They could have rose up.
General Patton wanted to end The USSR and we should have. Powers that be however decided to assassinate Patton instead. Too bad, the cold war could have been avoided and we would never be staring down Communist in NK, China, or have a Rogue Russia right now. 🎉😂

      2017:
President Putin recalled that under the system of state terror during Stalin’s rule, “any person could face made-up and absolutely absurd charges.”
      Putin said in 2017:
“Millions of people were branded as enemies of the people, were executed or crippled, underwent torture in prisons and forced deportations“
“This terrible past cannot be erased from the national memory. And certainly cannot be justified by whatever imaginary greater good of the people.”
Putin was clear that unlike some other episodes in Russia’s past, which are subject to controversy and heated public discourse, Stalin’s terror is not something that’s up for debate.
“The persecution campaign was a tragedy for our people, our society, a ruthless blow to our culture, roots and identity. We can feel the consequences now and our duty is not to allow it to be forgotten.”

@salvadorvizcarra769Bro, millions of people died because of Stalin and you're asking why he's villified?? Are you braindead? Nothing he supposedly accomplished is worth the price of the lives lost unnecessarily in the process! He put people into reeducation camps where they were tortured & killed, he took people from european countries like Ukraine, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland etc. and deported them to Siberia where they died of hunger, disease, freezing cold, eaten by wolves, tortured to death and if they lived, they were forced to work for the soviets and they were only given a little bit of grains as payment, no money, no food, no housing, nothing! No amount of wealth, industrial/scientific/technological advancement is worth the lives of innocent people! If you would've lived through Stalin's reign of terror, you wouldn't hold the same opinion today!
