    "3.5 is an eighth ounce, in non troy ounces. For no suspicious reasons".... 😂😂😂😂😂 Omg that had me laughing my ass off. Thanks for the awesome video.. all the way from 707, nor cal. I sure miss the 907.... Did 5 years total there, and only panned for half a day.

    Love watching it happen. keep em coming, and "keep sucking"(I find the dredging double entendre very amusing).

    Hi guys brilliant stuff in Scotland we call the clay layer the thief layer . It grabs the gold out the box if it’s in clumps you may have gotten even more
    Well in

      @@twodudesonedredge I do ok if I do 2 ,3 hrs shifts a day and I’m on good ground , some days are better than others as you guys know 3 gram days on average with a four a bit less wi a 3 but I prefer the catch rate in the 3
      It’s better for a one man set up cheers arrrrrr

    I'm sure you have done proper testing but since you said comment whatever we want haha, I thought I might mention something I learned during my experience in that area. If material can work its way into the clay so can big gold. Testing we have done, has shown that the fines,small pickers tend to sit on top of the clay but the bigger gold works its way down into it. Though 4-6 inch deep test pans of the clay, showed little to no gold in a pan,over a length of time the bigger gold would occasionally show up from within it. We ended up eating up about 6 inches deep,on average ,when we hit the clay and in the end,it payed quite well. Not to mention,that clay could be sitting just over the top of bedrock. But perhaps you know your bedrock to be deep there. Hope that helps in some way. Good luck 👍

    • @paulsanders2001
      @paulsanders2001 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep we used to clear big area then jet though clay and break the lose bedrock

    • @twodudesonedredge
      @twodudesonedredge  ปีที่แล้ว

      We've seen geologist reports of the fault line and surrounding area and the bedrock drops off the bottom of the graph. 50+ feet down, we can't dredge that haha

    Why aren’t you hitting that hard pack on top of the clay? I find a lot of gold chewing up that layer in my area (north of Fairbanks).

    • @twodudesonedredge
      @twodudesonedredge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We usually go down into the clay or gouch that we dredge over on that claim. In the past we have tested down six inches to a foot into it.

    • @AKMan-m4k
      @AKMan-m4k ปีที่แล้ว

      @@twodudesonedredge And you didn’t find anything? That’s bizarre. Over 20 years of prospecting/mining I have never encountered a layer of clay/hardpack where the top few inches weren’t the richest material I sucked up.

    Nice job guys. Love the underwater video and drone intro too.. what part of Alaska are you in if u don't mind me asking and r u on public land or fed claims or?

    • @twodudesonedredge
      @twodudesonedredge  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      South Central Alaska. Most claims up here seem to be state land. Certainly I’ve heard friends that have had federal claims. The public areas are decent. Especially for the new prospector. We go to the public area in Hope every year. There are a few videos we’ve done in public areas.

      @twodudesonedredge thanks for the reply. Keep doing what you are doing. I really enjoy the videos. One day in the near future, we hope to get up that way and explore and do some dredging.. BTW how u liking the dwx heater? We love ours for our 4inch and will watch for the bolt issue. We will be getting one for our 5in soon too. Hope it was just a one off on that. Heavy pans

      The heater has been a real game changer. I actually wish we could buy a second one and just get a bit warmer water without having to run the motor as hot. But really we like to run our dredge pretty hot at it is.

    Hey guys I live in Australia where dredging is not allowed... They claim it damages the ecosystem lmao I disagree when it comes to small scale prospecting ie. 4 inch or smaller large scale or commercial I would agree with that mentality, hoping that soon they change the law to allow prospectors to use small or backpack dredges

    • @twodudesonedredge
      @twodudesonedredge  ปีที่แล้ว

      You've got some amazing metal detecting opportunities down there. Shame about dredging laws though. Here in Alaska 6 inch and less is considered "small scale" and is fully permitted outside of a few special salmon bearing streams
