What a wonderful video. It was as though you were in conversation with Leonardo. I truly enjoyed it.

So.... Northern light would be the direction of the light coming in through the window from outside (so standing inside the room looking out the window is south) or is Northern light looking out of the window towards the North and the outside of the window faces South? .... a "North facing window" is the "face" of the window to the outside of the window or the inside of the window?

Leonardo da Vinci and all his discoveries were mostly forgotten for centuries after his death, was re-discovered in the 19th century and became known as one of the biggest geniuses of all time in the 20th century. Non of his students became famous painters. I don't quite understand what you mean he was influential , did you meant because he developed sfumato ?

The old observations are good. I see too many, saturating the internet with untrained "art", that are imitating styles of others, current fads, i guess I'd call them, but i do not see many using great drafting or fundamentals..very few. i was taught advanced perspective by a man named andre fazicus. How to take any geometric shape, project it onto a picture plane in proper perspective. (A million lines) Eventually, that knowledge was put into a computer. Its now realistic video games & a.i. images. That "archaic" knowledge is where it was all figured out. Way..before computers were even thought of. Computer programs, actually had to catch up to something centuries old. Young artists should seek out the Old writings, to get better. They say you cant write about things you do not know. Nor can you paint or draw, if you dont understand what your drawing first. J.m.o.

The ermine might be a political point as only nobility were allowed to wear the fur. I don’t know who the lady is but by holding the animal she’s making a point about that I think
